I think I'm one of the few people who liked the new Superman movies and new theme. They'll never replace the original, but I think they are special.
I feel that too! I love the new Superman movies with Henry cavil more than the old ones. Not saying that the old ones are bad no no no. The old ones are fantastic and made beautiful. I prefer the new ones because they portray more of a real life Superman if he were to actually happen. And the OST’s to me are more better and fit so well with the emotions that express in Superman. Modern movies are better at portraying reality but the OG’s are the treasure that gave characters what they are today.
I can agree with that. I wish we had gotten something like this to kind of ease us through the changes though. Showing the old, they did that with his face during a certain scene in MoS. Choked me up seeing that small hint at CR’s Supes.❤️
I’m sure it’s not online anymore, but when the movie got released someone did a mashup of SIV and MoS, where CR was confronting Alex about cloning him, then the MoS shows up. It was neat, and of course they do eventually stop fighting each other. But it ends sad.

When I was little, I thought the world of Superman. I dressed up as him for Halloween and even on days apart of from it. But, when I grew older, I sadly began to view him as boring and lame. I started gravitating more towards Batman because I thought he was ‘cooler’ than Superman. But I think I might’ve just lost my way. Around the time when I was sort of going through a depressing part of my life, Superman was there to save me when I needed him the most. I saw Man of Steel on my birthday and got it for Christmas, which were both 2 of the happiest days of my life. I learned to appreciate Christopher Reeve’s Superman more and saw how gentle and kind he was, even behind the cameras. Christopher Reeve was an inspiration to me, reminding me to never lose hope. Henry Cavill was an inspiration to me, reminding me that I always have a choice in my future. John Williams and Hans Zimmer inspired me to fly. But most of all… Clark Kent inspired me to be kind when kindness is most needed and even when it isn’t. Clark Kent aka Superman is not just a hero. He is hope. Hope that we can someday be better. Hope that we’ll one day learn to love and be kinder to one another. And I feel like, especially nowadays, we need more hope in our lives. Can it be a dangerous thing? Yes. But hope is something that gives us the courage to go on. To do better. I will always be thankful for Superman and every brilliant visionary who have written for him. He will always be my hero. My hope.
Batman will never be the hero of the world that title is taken.

Other heroes seem to be cool only because they can use their fullest potential they have that privilege. But Our Hero can not use his fullest potential just bcoz someone could die, if He does so, the whole multiverse will be doomed, Coz He is strong, Coz He is Superman.
Inspite being the Strongest and Greatest He chooses to be Nice, Gentle, Empathetic towards us. That's Why He Is Our Superman.
Writers always tries to lame him down and invented this Krytonite thing Coz they knew How hard Batman n others tries, nothing would take down or make any harm to Superman, but If His Single finger is enough to finish whole career of Batman and others.
Just to save Batman they always victimized Superman.
That's why I hate Batman's writers.
That transition at 2:00 was great! If only that trombone finished the last two note and blended into it.

Was a kid of the'70s. I saw Superman The Movie at the drive-in. I was hooked. Christopher Reeve made you believe he was real. With a soundtrack, everyone knows from the opening sounds.
Fast forward to 2013 between Henry Cavill and Han Zimmer, the Superman was restored to greatness. Made me believe I feel like a kid again. Gave me a new definition for what the S stands for. On Krypton, it's not an S it stands for HOPE.
Of all the changes, making the S into a Kryptonian pictograph meaning hope was the most brilliant. It's his family's coat of arms... very nice. He's always the son of the house of El.

@@SurlyInsomniac You'd be surprised how many people get Christropher's last name wrong. The confusion is likely due to George Reeves who played Superman in the 1950's TV show. Keanu Reeves is not a Superman actor however I think he made 'Reeves' more popular than 'Reeve'. People just assume the 'S' is always at the end.

Every time I hear John Williams Superman theme come through, I get goosebumps and feel a sense of hope.
Mixing the two is just genius. Takes me back to when I saw the late Christopher Reeve and no Henry Cavill- they are SUPERMAN!!!

My nickname is Superman, so every time I hear both themes it builds me up to become a hero to my friends eyes. I strive each day to become a Superman who needs help. I am willing to sacrifice my life for my friends. So this song has taught me that and also not to lose Hope. Thanks for sharing this bro and we need to have Hope and the light that lifts us out of Darkness. And that light is HOPE.

I honestly hope that when superman legacy hits we get something like this, not a new theme (or even an old one) that ignores the legacy of superman, but a blending of themes that really creates a superman theme for all generations
Would be fitting as the film is called Superman: LEGACY. If that's a major theme of the film, having the music emphasize that would be fitting.

Hans Zimmer is an excellent composer, but when it comes to Superman, John Williams has the definite music that touches my heart.
Two pieces of music send chills down my spine. The National Anthem and this.
Perfect combo between williams and Zimmer they should use in next man of steel movie.
Han Zimmer best soundtrack of all. I have all the respect for the originals, how he just gets his powers. This version though humanized him though with him growing up with abilities and learning the way of the world. Also being taught to have a good heart instead of letting his anger get the best of him. Or like Bruce said"If he wanted to he could burn the whole place down and there wouldn't be a thing we could do about it.

Apparently Henry is in black Adam with the Williams theme. Happy to have him back but he needs that Zimmer theme. Honestly it deserves a lot more love than it gets. Hopefully in the future if they want to incorporate more Williams theme in, this is the route they go cause this is beautiful.

A really good mashup suite that blended the themes of the two composers very, very well. I highly enjoyed it. My only complaint, and this is just me, is that the suite kept giving teasing hints of Williams' "Superman March" then pulling back throughout the piece such that I was waiting for it to come out of the mix toward the climax and really pound the feels. So it was a little disappointing that it never fully materialized. It was an itch that never got fully scratched.

Superman takes a huge lick that really rings his bell after some long winded epic fight. The background noise fades out. We aren't privy to it, but Supes is having an inner dialogue with himself. Quietly as if a whisper we hear "Who am I?" from Superman The Movie, and after a brief pause we hear, "You are my son." from that Jor-El.

There have been many mashups of these themes, but I consider this a definitive *tribute* to both scores vs. a crude mashup. The way some of the other Williams themes are sprinkled in there, starting with Krypton's and - the one that really made my jaw drop because of how well it fit - the Kansas home theme. That was brilliant.
The courage it must have taken Mr. Zimmer to jump in the ring with an icon like Williams!!!.... then I heard "Flight," ..... Zimmer crushed it!

It’s good, it never hits that grand bit from the Williams theme it needs to, but that is all that is missing.
I noticed that too that their wasn't much Williams. I guess it's because that I've always been more of a DCEU superman fan more than the original. But next time I'll make sure that both parts play equally epicly if I ever decide to make something similar!!! ❤
@@mr.skullatin9013 I saw the original in theaters, eight years old, my heart pounding like it was going to bust out of my chest, I left that theater, like a lot of kids and plenty of adults, BELIEVING A MAN COULD FLY… to this day, clips of the Chris Reeve version have my eyes welling up, the film still MOVES me like I’m still that 8 year old kid in the theater, it really was, it will always be SUPERMAN, the one and only.
Don’t ever let anyone tell you, you can’t. The slightest amount of self confidence goes the longest of ways. So do whatever it takes to make yourself feel like you can fly. This world needs more people who have the confidence to fly. To just give what they want one chance. You never know unless you just give it a try.

Love this mashup but I'd say what was holding it back was having the main chorus of John Williams as the big climax after the build up from Hans Zimmer. Yet this is good, cant wait to see Cavill's next appearance as Superman

If there’s an heir apparent to the Maestro, Zimmer is definitely on the short list.
The trick with Superman movies has been matching the sheer musical genius that John Williams brings to bear. I didn’t think the soundtrack could be improved upon. I was wrong. Hans Zimmer’s score holds its own next to John Williams’ score. And the two together? Amazing!!!

They are actually working on Justice League 2 then they will work on Green Lantern so I think that Man of Steel 2 will never exist.

There are a few mashup videos like this but I think this one is the best of the bunch. It does feel like a version both maestros worked on to complement their respective themes. Bravo.
My one critique is not including any part of "Can you read my mind", which was itself so ingrained to Williams main theme.
I love both OG and man of steel will always be my favourite, those movies helped me a lot. And the music scores for both are phenomenal. Zimmer and Williams turn good movies into epic ones.

It's such a beautiful piece. I could never conceive such a wonderful ebb and flow to a piece of music... but it's obvious Hans knew he couldn't top Williams original piece. It's just really really hard to top perfection
