Sorry to hear that Dave Bob. As you would have seen from the video TUI are also my favourite but objectively based on the criteria mentioned, Jet2 edged it.
I love Tui I am going to Las Palmas from Manchester with them in August, went last year and was the best flight that I had had in a long time, the 787-8 Dreamliner was amazing, the windows are so good
I must give a thumbs up for Jet2, as I use them regularly. Their flight times out of Manchester to my preferred destinations suit me and my budget. The fares you show are all very high. Were they last minute prices? I am sure if you book in advance, you can get better deals
Thomas cook are going down and Tui got saved as they where going down as Thomsons , both had major loss but jet2 haven’t had any loss in the years of operations and are the second largest tour operator in the U.K. so my favourite , they need long haul routes tho
I certainly hope that Thomas Cook survive for the sake of the staff. Too many airlines have vanished this year already. If Jet2 offered more long haul they could possibly have won this comparison. They do have a strong business model so likely don't see the benefit.
Thomas Cook are amazing. They offer so many cross Atlantic flights for us northerners. Its too bad that because they control that market for the north that their flights are higher than those in the south.
I think the real winner here is Jet2 as they are the only British airline. Will Thomas Cook continue to be number one after posting losses this week of 163 million quid. Will they change their model for next year? Time will tell, nice video Blake.
Well done Thomas Cook! Its true, and I'm not just saying it because they are my favourite, they really are very very good. Thanks for doing this video Blake, and showing Thomas Cook in such a good light!
Samuel Knight Ok. I used to like Airbus, but was probably Monarch that I liked it so much, but prefer the 737 now especially the Sky Interior on Jet2 & TUI Airways
I'm a fan of Jet2 simply because of the extra seat space and luggage allowance Also it's a English company and another great thing I like about Jet2 I have always had really good customer service through online chat over the phone Çheck in staff Cabin and Cockpit Crew . Due to having lots of bad experience with Thomas Cook between 1998 and 2006 I have boycotted them .
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. As I said in the video everyone has their own views based on personal experiences and it’s interesting to see the different experiences that people have had.
I have to say my last 2 flights with Tui have been dreadful and I found the video biased towards Tui. I used to work for Thomas Cook, but have a huge soft spot for Jet2. Never had any issues with them and their luggage allowance is amazing. Both tui and Thomas Cook start at 15kg for luggage and any more has to be payed for. Jet2 go straight in at 22kg. Excellent.
Tui has always been my favourite still eventhough in August I had a short 6 hour delay with tui but there holidays and cruises are well worth the money along with the flights
Have to admit i was a britannia flyer also. Tui have let me down with their punctuality for the last 3 years from manchester. Three hours late this year on the first flight of the day. Blake you should compare again on punctuality for a future blog.
i went on a Thomas Cook aeroplane last year and am going on a Jet 2 aeroplane this year (in 2 days) i loved Thomas Cook and wish me luck for my Jet 2 experience! nice video!
Mine was with Caledonian, who then became JMC. I also flew with Britannia. Sad that the era of charter airlines is gone, with just TUI and Thomas Cook left.
My family and I use to go abroad every year on Thomas Cook but now travel Jet2. Twice while traveling on Thomas Cook our flight was delayed by approximately 4 hours!! Jet2 is far better!! But I have never personally travelled TUI
just for extra info regarding Thomas Cook- if you've got a package holiday, seats and any other flight extras are cheaper than if you book flights only. front row seats can be from £3 per person to £14. As for luggage- 15 kg or 20 kg is included and if you want to increase it's £10 for every extra 5 kg. i know this vid is old but there's been a change to the hand luggage- it's now 8 kg :)
My first flight was on a Thomsonfly A340 when I was 5, which I now know they leased, to Palma. Quite strange now, TUI is still my favourite airline I love their 787 as I’ve mentioned.
Im flying with tui soon and my biggest fear is flying but strangely enough I found some comfort from this video so thank you for that and cant wait for future ones
Billy that is wonderful to hear. The point of this channel is to share my experiences and help people to make a decision with their flights. I find flying wonderful and if I can help anyone it makes all of the time and money spent on this channel worthwhile.
@@BlakeEdgington honestly i thought about flying today and I felt some excitement about it so when I get to the airport and these few months before I fly i am going to watch an awful lot of your videos you really do make airtravel look amazing
We were regular travellers with TUI for about 10 years before trying Jet2 - they are now our go to choice for flights in Europe. Made the mistake of using Thomas Cook last year and despite reserving and paying for extra legroom seats they changed the aircraft both ways which put me at 6’2” in a standard seat on a 3.5 hour flight. Never again. Can highly recommend the Jet2 experience very slick and efficient. TUI are still good but more expensive and are being left behind by Jet2 on the whole experience.
Blake Edgington - Airborne Yep - didn’t find out until we got on the plane by which time it was too late. Unfortunately on the return journey despite contacting TC in resort to make sure we would have extra legroom seats on the return trip exactly the same thing happened. Won’t use Thomas Cook again. We’ve been using Jet2 regularly for about 4 years and never had a bad experience.
Yes when I was young I remember I wanted to know where we were and I asked a flight attendant and the flight attendant asked the captain and the captain made an announcement for the entire aircraft just for me. and a few other good things have happened to me on TUI but I’m to lazy to type them out
Going to menorca on a jet2 737-800 hope it’s good it’s my second time abroad (second time on jet2 and it is very comfy tui would be best prob but their ads lost my trust)
Interesting result... I have only done one package with Thomas Cook but numerous with Jet2 and TUI plus flight only bookings with all. I have only done one trip on the TCX A321 and that was when they were brand new from Newcastle to Antalya and they were fab. TUI is an airline that I have never had any issue with at all but on short haul I have somehow only flown on their sky interior planes which is the opposite of Jet2, who seems to be rubbish for me, as for reasons I have gone into before... Adding Ryanair and EasyJet into the mix would be very interesting though...
Newcastle Flyer it's no surprise that Jet2 has been awarded the best UK airline on tripadvisor. Hope Ryanair get awarded the worst European airline. Can't wait till Ryanair go bust.
Not a bad shout Joseph but I have already compared Easyjet, Ryanair and Norwegian so would be covering the same ground. Also.... not a Wizz Air fan so doubt I could be objective!
My Experience with Tui was A mix I was Flying from Birmingham To Orlando Florida With The 787 8 The Seat Was Confortable though a Lack of legroom mood lighting was Very Relaxing Although did not fall asleep on the flight Food was interesting I had Lunch and Dinner on board staff was very Polite And I would definitely fly Tui Again
I have flown with all these airlines and my favourite of the all has to be Jet 2 although i have not had any serious bad experiences with any of the airlines for me Jet 2 takes the edge from the friendly staff to the amazing package deals not to mention the leg room onboard. Coming in second place i believe Tui is a brilliant airline and they do come in close behind Jet 2 by there friendly staff again but their IFE on board the 767 and 787 aircraft which was a bonus to have on a mid range flight. Despite Thomas cook having some what of an IFE system they do unfortunatly come last by their no so pleasent and inviting staff which i did experience not only onboard the aircraft but also due to a miss understanding on there end at baggage check in, also the lack of leg room was a real let down to me during the flight. To me cabin mood lighting is not an important factor however food service was great on most airlines apart from some minor issues ( I honestly cant tell the difference between airline catering XD) Which leaves me with the answer of Jet 2 being my personal favourite airline given by the amazing leg room amazing staff members and the fantastic baggage allowence). When i was onboard jet 2 unfortunatly both of the flights i was on didnt have the model 757 which i was looking to purchase however one of the amazing staff memebers at Jet 2 sent me the model aircraft a week after the flight once i sent them a message explaining my issue. THANK YOU! For me Jet 2 would become the ultimate airline through proggressing in the only way by either adding IFE systems on board thir aircrafts and adding more route destinations. WELL DONE JET 2!!! (None of them will live up to the standerd of Monarch ;) )
Completely with you regarding Monarch, one of my favourite airlines. I tried to be completely objective in this video and put my personal preference aside (TUI for me) and was genuinely surprised that Thomas Cook won. Jet2 are an airline that I have flown with a further 3 times since this video came out and they have definitely grown on me.
How did Tui come last place!!!!???.Also Tui would obviously be the most expensive airline to travel on because of there service. It is also amazing that they fly the 787-8/9 to short haul places which no other airline does. Your saying that Thomas cook are the best but they are lacking passenger growth and are struggling to stay in business. This shows that more people want to fly with Tui than Thomas cook because even though Tui are more expensive, its worth spending the money with their great service and luxury aircraft.
E PLAYS 4 FUN I am aware but thanks. I was responding to someone claiming to be a Thomas Cook pilot on the A350 😂 their comment seems to have been deleted.
They changed the name to bring the company under one brand as the European parts of the group were known as TUI. I do miss Thomson myself and going even further back, Britannia.
been on quite a few flights with jet2 and thomas cook,,,,, jet2 seats from manchester to malaga very uncomfatable, no radio /tv.thomas cook, cramped seats just no room.just my opinion, prefer thomas cook with the bundle.thanks for the info, subscribed.!!
TUI are my favourite due to their 787 Dreamliner. But I personally think (having flown all three airlines) that they are pretty much the same. The only difference between the airlines are their planes and logos.
Well we can now ignore that said about Thomas Cook. Pity the airline was not made a going concern to separate it from the package side of the business. It was profitable but suffered because of poor business management. Less choice = higher fares and we have seen how some have rocketed within hours of the airline going bust.
Sadly you are correct, the demand will still be there but with a lack of competition it hits the wallet. The writing seemed to be on the wall for Thomas Cook for a while and they appeared to suffer from the same issues that finished Monarch.
Jet2's seat are bit hard backed for long flights - 4.5 hours - such as GLA to LPA (Gran Canaria). TUI's seats are slightly better for these longer flights as they are cushioned.
Jet 2 allow you to take more baggage on board. The only planes companies I have flew with is tomson (now known as tui), Thomas cook and jet 2 holidays. So I think jet 2 are better in that aspect.
Hi Blake, noticed your collection of model die-cast aircraft. Flew to Shannon Airport from Birmingham for a birthday weekend celebration staying in the friendly town of Limerick. Family and I were very impressed with the airport that has been recently been modernised when flying back to Brum yesterday evening. There are lots of things to see and do at the departure lounge. Picture gallery of all the US presidents that have flown to Shannon. Highlight is the Shannon Airport Aviation Gallery, displaying countless numbers of die-cast aircraft models with well known national airlines in glass cabinets and shelves, even hanging down from the ceiling. Aer Lingus ATR 72-600 operated by Stobart Air has plenty of leg room with narrower seats. I am 5ft 11" and not broad built, felt very comfy on my window seat 8A by the turboprop engine.
Very observant of you Nick. I recently tried the ATR for the first time with TAP and the review will be available soon. I will have to add a trip to Shannon to my list.
@@BlakeEdgington Great, highly recommend going to The Milk Market outdoor food and gift market stalls open during the weekend. The Locke Bar, JJ Bowles pub and have to go to Nancy Blakes pub for a selfie pub sign photo www.limerick.ie/discover/eat-see-do/food-drink/pubs/nancy-blakes Can sober up in the morning at the Hook & Ladder café that do a fantastic breakfast with a strong mug of ground coffee.
With only one flight a day from BHX to SNN at 16:55 returning back at 19:00 would have to fly from another UK airport or fly to Dublin in the morning and catch a coach to Shannon Airport.
This was an interesting video to make and the the result truly surprised me. Enjoy the video.

E PLAYS 4 FUN I am aware but thanks. I was responding to someone claiming to be a Thomas Cook pilot on the A350 😂 their comment seems to have been deleted.
Blake Edgington - Airborne oh 🤣🤣
I loved watching that
Great to hear Stephen.
@@BlakeEdgington No worries. Thanks for posting. It still seems relevavant even though Tom Cook is not with us. Cheers for video.
RIP Thomas cook
Thomas Cook scandinavia are still flying
Idk why they shortend there name TUI is ok but I still call it Thmpson as its called in the first place.
They changed the name to bring the company under one brand as the European parts of the group were known as TUI. I do miss Thomson myself and going even further back, Britannia.
Blake Edgington - Airborne they should have a special livery for brittania
If they did I would be on the first flight.
Jet2 are the best in my opinion
I do enjoy flying with Jet2 myself.
Same
I love flying with jet 2
Tui is lovely
I would always go for Thomas Cook or Condor in Germany. Great video. Enjoyed the comparison
Glad that you enjoyed it, thanks for watching.
FlyingLjas Probably cos Jet2 is the only airlines that is 100% British.
been on quite a few flights with jet2 and thomas cook,,,,, jet2 seats from manchester to malaga very uncomfatable, no radio /tv.thomas cook, cramped seats just no room.just my opinion, prefer thomas cook with the bundle.thanks for the info, subscribed.!!
oh you might see my flight vids i posted
Thanks for subscribing John. Also appreciate your views on Jet2 and Thomas Cook. I will be sure to check out your channel.
TUI are my favourite due to their 787 Dreamliner. But I personally think (having flown all three airlines) that they are pretty much the same. The only difference between the airlines are their planes and logos.
The 787 for TUI is wonderful but I had to keep the comparison fair.
A BIG LIKE FOR THOMAS COOK!
I hope that you are pleased with the result then.
Ive only been with jet 2 so far I'll be sure to check out the others!
Always worth comparing the competition. I myself will be flying TUI this week.
@@BlakeEdgington oh cool I just booked my first Thomas cook flight!
I love tui sooo much
Me too!
Jet2's seat are bit hard backed for long flights - 4.5 hours - such as GLA to LPA (Gran Canaria). TUI's seats are slightly better for these longer flights as they are cushioned.
For me the biggest bonus is the legroom with Jet2 but the TUI seats as you said are nicely padded.
Love your vidies...... suscribe......
yeah
Thanks David I appreciate it.
Thomas Cook? doesn't ring a bell!
Jet2 for life always had a good time with them
I have to admit, the more that I have flown with Jet2, the more I am a fan.
Well a Done For Getting 1000 Subscribers
Thank you Bradley, I am very pleased.
Me to because its my favorites and i fly always Tui on holiday
Thanks for sharing 👍
8:00 if you book a jet2 package holiday, this is all not a problem
Correct but I was looking at flight only for this comparison.
Jet 2 allow you to take more baggage on board. The only planes companies I have flew with is tomson (now known as tui), Thomas cook and jet 2 holidays. So I think jet 2 are better in that aspect.
Appreciate your thoughts.
Jet2.com is a safe airline because it hasn’t had a single crash
Indeed
I love jet2 and want to be a pilot for them when I grow up 🛫
I hope that you are able to achieve your goal.
@@BlakeEdgington thank you I am only 11 and study aircraft like crazy 🛫
Nice tips but I would likely fly in and then jump back on a flight within a couple of hours for the next review.
With only one flight a day from BHX to SNN at 16:55 returning back at 19:00 would have to fly from another UK airport or fly to Dublin in the morning and catch a coach to Shannon Airport.
Would probably jump on a flight elsewhere. Who knows? Will have some fun planning it for sure.
jet2 is great if you have no intention of going on holiday
Out of those airlines I like is jet 2 holidays is the best airline out of them
Good choice
Thomas cook should win food is good your ears won’t pop and barley any crashes
TUI is my fav in my opinion they are a really good flight service
I have a big soft spot for them myself and might be onboard the TUI 757 soon.
Try the new Thomas Cook Scandinavia. Name: Sunclass Airlines
I'm going on tui tomorrow for the first time
I hope that you enjoy it.
Oh yes we can trust Thomas Cook. Thankfully i stick to TUI for holidays because they don’t go bust at random times...
It’s a shame that Thomas Cook are no longer around but I would always choose TUI or Jet2 even if Thomas Cook were still flying.
@@BlakeEdgington Yes it really is.. but as the same as you, I would always stick to TUI. Just saw this reply after a year or so 😂
Vety good video 😃
Thanks Turbo Konna I am glad that you enjoyed it.
I didn't think the comfort looked good on any, but then again I do go mostly cross Atlantic haha
I take what I can get on European routes 😉
My favourite is TUI because I always fly with them
Good to hear Josh.
