Henry went with Thomas to school to show all his friends that his Uncle actually was Superman. The photo of Thomas walking in that morning with his Uncle Henry in tow is gold. The walk of a determined young man about to be vindicated is beautiful.
No - The teacher was correct. The Nephew should have said, My uncle is an ACTOR. One of MANY Actors - just the (then) latest one - who plays the FICTIONAL Character of Superman. Who was the first? Was it Christopher Reeve? (Oh No! 10 of them and counting!)
@@linmonash1244 He's an elementary school kid, apparently very much into Superman & very proud of his uncle. In a kid's imagination, their psyche might intertwine these 2 & believe their uncle really was just filmed while doing his job as Superman. Even adults give into the fantasy & take photos w/ Cinderella, Snow White or Ariel in Disneyland, being very hyped abt it while also aware it's just someone in a costume. Casually you need a little pixie dust in your life & for a child that's cmpltly fine. What personal connection does he have to Christopher Reeve? He probably would've simply said he's into superheroes otherwise, but me as a child would've also been convinced Henry is the REAL deal, while everyone else is only playing him/his role in the other movies.
I was coming to say this! That sigh and eye closing as he's showing the teachers reaction was stellar. He clearly wasn't there but his comedic expression was on point for the sake of the story!
Something similar happened to me when I was a kindergartener in 1955. On the playground early in the school year, I told my classmates my father was a giant. When my teacher heard all the excited chatter about "the giant", she told me I needed to tell the truth and not make up fanciful stories about my father. When I continued to insist he really was a giant, she told me I had to stand in a corner (not an unusual circumstances in 1955) until I told the truth. That's where my mother found me two hours later when she came to pick me up after school: I was still insisting Daddy was truly a giant. made me stand in a corner for the reuntil I apologized and told the truth. My teacher told Mama that while she encouraged imagination, my parents needed to teach me the difference between the truth and lies. Mama calmly replied that at six foot six inches tall, my father really was a giant...at least in the eyes of a 4 foot kindergartner. With that, my five foot 3 inch teacher, bless her, apologized to me and invited my Daddy to visit the classroom so she and all my classmates could meet a real giant. BTW, Daddy was a giant of a man in many more ways than in height❤
That's so sweet, and 6 foot 6 inches IS tall even if you weren't a child. So yeah I can definitely see why you would have thought that as a kid. Teachers don't always know everything and your never to old to learn new things.
@@dustbunny4527 and there is also the case of not punishing people for doing what you want them to. She asked for him to tell the truth and then tried punishing him for doing so, she should own up to her actions and set a example yet it seems harder and harder nowadays for people to take some damn responsibility.
He should've brought his uncle for show and tell day. Uncle could talk about his career being superman and what subjects they should do well in to follow in his footsteps.
Omg that’s a priceless story. I think people think all my stories are made up too. When I die I hope all my friends come up and each tell one to validate mine. Kind of my last “well Alrighty then”
That is legit going to be a story little Tommy will tell his grand kids, and they too, will not believe him. My kids had a hard time believing I'm older than the Internet.
I just adore how he puts his acting skills to the service of the story telling of his nephew's story because lets get this clear here , he wasn't in that classroom that day yet he acts as though he was.😂😂
Ma la bellezza di questo ragazzo… ? E il suo affascinante modo di parlare, e di fare. Bello davvero. Sembra avere anche “sostanza” oltre che essere bello, simpatico e a modo. 🙂☺️😘😍🥰😊😎👍🏻
I love the way he is telling this story. He has all the facial features the emotion all of it that makes for a great story teller. I love it he painted a clear vibrant picture of the teacher his sister in law and his nephew and everyone so clearly it almost like you were right there. I’m laughing and watch to watch this over at least 3 times cause I just love how he lays the whole thing out . And I’ve got nephews so I can see how the little boy would be as well. Lol.
I so loved Henry doing superman..... Wish they'd of done 3 films like the old ones instead of just man of steel but still, one of the best films I've ever watched ❤❤
Would the younger man’s surname be Cavill? Henry says his “sister-in-law.” Means his brother’s son who has the same surname. Why wouldn’t the teacher put those pieces together?
Because there's many people with the same surname??????? Literally let's say there was like 2000 people in that city where the kid lives, I'm sure about a 100 of them would have the same surname. Doesn't mean one Cavill is immediately related to THAT Cavill. The only other excuses I have for that woman is that 1) she was new 2) she just didn't connect because it's her job tp be a teacher and, well, _teach_ the kids, including on the lying (besides, Henry _did_ say his nephew is known for telling tall tales so...) or 3) she knew but she was either a) being ignorant or b) wanted to meet Henry Cavill. I have no other explanation :)
Yes, so now immediately if I was a teacher and I had a child in my class named Jaden Smoth for example and he was black, I should immediately assume he is Will Smith's son??? Cavill is just like any other surname, common. I'm sure if the kid lives in a community of say, 2000 people, about a 100 of them will SURELY have the last name Cavill and STILL not be related to Henry. Just because someone has the same surname (or name) as a famous person, doesn't mean they're automatically related. Besides, not everyone in the world has heard/watched DC or even superhero films for that matter, so, she really couldn't have known or just simply didn't know. It's that simple lol.
I believe Henry did, actually, accompany his nephew to school shortly afterwards.
Henry actually had to appear to prove it.
Yup, he took his nephew to school and his nephew was wearing his Superman outfit too👍😎 what a SUPER - MAN Henry Cavil is!!
Where they lie constantly!
yep
Yup, he did, best part of the story, I would had paid good money to watch the teachers face when Henry greeted her 😂

My uncle plays a character named Napoleon. - Thomas Cavill.
Thomas-"My Uncle is from the 41st Millennium where there is only war".
