@@jgstudios117The way the plot worked actually had me interested. Originally, Madame Web was gonna assemble a team of Spider-Women to protect a soon to be born Peter Parker from Ezekiel Simms and it interested me initially after seeing Spider-Man existed unlike in the Venom duology and Morbius (I don’t care what Vulture told Morbius)
“If you ordered tickets get a refund!” -minisuperheroestoday 2024 (Should be on the poster 😆) Also the Madame web crime count had me laughing out loud! 😂
While Dakota’s character in the movie may be able to see the future, I also can. I know that when I see Madame Web, I’m gonna love it. In fact, I think I’m gonna see it twice. Also, worst movie you’ve EVER seen in theatres is wild. Not one of the worst, not pretty bad, not even bottom five - THE WORST. That makes me so excited to see it 🤣
You also forgot that Fant4stic had waaaay too much studio interference from Fox as they were so self conscious and second guessing themselves from fan reactions unlike Morbius and Madame Web where things seemingly well swiftly between the directors and the studio
This was one the first movies I have seen, that when the credits rolled, I said: “Was that it?” It was really disappointing, even though I didn’t expect much of it.
The only good thing that could come out of this film I feel, is that we could get a teenage Peter Parker who’s already Spider-Man for Venom 3. Madam Web takes place in 2003. And *if* the movie is indeed connected to the Sonyverse, we can finally get Venom vs Spider-Man. But that’s the only good thing I can see from this film.
Ive never seen you this negative of a film. Im glad you expressed your honest review though cause im saving my part time job money instead to watch the upcoming demon slayer movie (possibly 10000x better) rather than "mAdAmE wEb" thanks, you saved me from a terrible film
Nope this was not the worst super hero movie.. it was Fantastic Four reboot 2015. By fox . This one was the worst. I seen people walking out the theater for the fantastic four
I think media companies don't understand that women succeeding at everything doesn't make them seem strong or powerful, it feels unrealistic and makes the characters seem entitled and unlikeable. Part of the human experience is failing, and what makes a character strong and powerful is if they fail and then try again. If superhero movies and movies in general want to make strong women characters, give them obstacles to fail at just like men characters, then show them overcome that adversity anyway.
Personally, I really enjoyed this movie. And surprisingly it ended up being my second favorite sony marvel movie right next to Venom Let There Be Carnage. I really enjoyed the whole psychological clairvoyant elements of the movie, really stood out to me. This was actually the first Dakota Johnson movie that I've ever seen as well, and I personally got invested in the character of Cassie Webb because of her. Good stuff. And yes I understand that she did technically commit several crimes, she did so for the right reasons. It was either commit crimes to protect three girls who you just met from a psychotic superpowered multicount murderer, or sit back and stay loyal to the law knowing these girls will die otherwise. When you look at it that way, she's basically been thrown into the same situation as Team Cap in Civil War. And admittingly, while there were police callouts for Cassie, her name was never mentioned in any of them, which explains why she got off scot free. As for Ezekiel's vision of his future death, we see that he had pretty much sealed his own fate the minute he shot Cassie's mother and didn't finish her off. While the future of his death was inevitable from the start as well as the girls' spider powers, there is no doubt that the girls might've killed him had he not been able to track them down. But the minute Cassie intervened, his future was altered but his fate stayed the same, ensuring his final canon event occurs. But I respect your opinion, and I can get how someone who read the comics and knows the character like the back of their hand I can see how one might find it...offensive...but as someone who legit knows nothing about the character, I thoroughly enjoyed the film. Couldn't even bring myself to get up from my seat to go refill my drink actually. But again it's just my opinion, and I don't condemn anyone who didn't like the movie, but I just have a different mindset from other people, and I'm not ashamed of it. But one thing I know for certain is those LEGO figures of your's were nicely done.
My worst theater experience so far was Venom Let There Be Carnage. Sorry Venom Let There Be Carnage was painful to sit through . I haven’t even gotten to Morbius or Madame Web
Yea. I knew it sucked the minute I saw the trailer for the 1st time and I’m not a fan of the character and I’m not planning on seeing the movie any time soon
0:54 There's nobody out there that's hoping or was hoping for a madame web movie specifically one that has nothing to do with spider-man. so right from the get-go just the existence of this movie makes absolutely no sense" cough cough .........venom was box office success without spider-man and madame web isn't the problem bcuz it could work, with good writers it could've taken inspiration from 2004 butterfly effect done in a superhero genre. the problem is writers from morbius wrote this movie. also keep that same energy with joker movie.
So the reason for the add is that alot of the spiderman and other marvel references were cut and the entire movie was re edited to make it standalone because the studio thought that maybe the "superhero fatigue" wasn't bad movies but having to watch other movies to understand them all . The biggest issues these studios have is just make a good movie lol. Don't try to make a series or setup a sequel. Make a good movie and the sequels will come lol
I knew it was going to fail from the minute I saw the leaked set photos and watched the trailer. I can't be the only one who thought that Dakota Johnson was completely miscast for the role of Madame Web. It should've been Helen Mirren or Jenny Agutter, both of whom would've been perfect. Also when you hire the writers of Morbius for this, you know you screwed up. "This is an emergency. That man is trying to kill you." 🙄🙄🙄 smh
Hey Jonathan, how would you have felt if Madame Web got scrapped by Marvel and we got Scarlett Johansson back for more Black Widow movies starting with a theoretical Black Widow instead? Like I think Marvel should go back to focusing on popular characters like her instead of the obscure ones. Hopefully Deadpool and Wolverine saves superhero movies (And I think it will). Great review!
Personaly I enjoyed it, the main problema i had with it were ezikals motives aside from fear of death what did he work for is never elaborated, another problem is it was advertized as a spiderman movie but going into it thinking its not spiderman i thought it was cool and ultimatly showed off one of spidermans most underated powers in an awsome light, it wasnt the best but i did enjoy it and i do see why people dont like it, but i personaly liked it and would like to see more of madame web
I respect your opinion. I think this movie is not as bad as Morbius though. It's even better than Secret Invasion. At least I don't feel like I HATED it after watching. And the main character doing crimes fine, Venom did tons of that. Sony's probably targeting teens and YA, not young kids so it's fine for the story. Again, at least I didn't hate it. It's passable especially with the quality of cinema nowadays. It's far from a failure. One point I agree on is Ezekiel's voice...I literally imagined a wrinkled old mad scientist speaking when I closed my eyes.
Remember when madame web said it’s webbing time and webbed all over the place? That’s when I just knew it was going to make webillion dollars at the box office 💀💀💀😈😈😈
I mean, in other super hero movies the heroes commit crimes (most notably Deadpool, venom, most of the avengers in civil war) Problem is those are good movies
Controversial take: The world would be a much better (and a more calm place) if movie reviews just didn't exist at all. I had no interest in seeing this movie and I knew little to nothing about it, that being said I didn't need to accidentally see a super negative video title telling me something I had no interest in hearing in the first place. Think about it, why do we feel the need to bring such attention to something we don't like in the first place (if anything, that unintentionally gives the movie more power)? What really mind boggles me is why do people feel the need to force themselves to watch something they know is going to be bad in the first place? I know there is a difference between "fun bad" (like sharknado and godzilla) and something that is "unwatchable" (like Independence day 2), but the point I'm trying to prove is that everyone needs to learn what is bad ON THEIR OWN (without the internet's help), otherwise we take the surprise and risk out of trying something new (that's half the life experience in my opinion). I'm not saying to blindly support projects like this, I'm just saying to stop talking and bringing attention to them all together. Go with the flow that lifts you up, not the one that brings you down.
@@JediBob That's why I said this is a controversial take. It's a way to think about and learn what does and does not make us happy when it comes to browsing the internet and reading news.
I don’t think it’s worse than morbius, but it is a bad movie. I like 2 things of the movie tho, the whole “toxic” scene and where they leave the characters off. Conceptually I like it, how it’s executed is horrible. The rest of the film is horrendous. Bad writing, bad acting, brain hurting editing, no superhero fights other than a few seconds of one, it is not a good movie.
It was so bad! At no point in the movie were they even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone who saw this movie (including me) is now dumber for having watched it. I award it no points, and may God have mercy on your soul if you see this. I will say it is better than the Kevin Hart Netflix movie Lift though, which is not saying much. I saw Madame Web for THE PLOT: Sydney Sweeney. Loved that you said the best part for you was the popcorn 😂!
I was shocked at the number of deaths/injuries of extras that occurred in order to save the 3 girls. The fact that extras just disappeared from the scenes of supposedly mass incidents... car pile up on an intersection - what, everyone just remains in their cars & patiently waits.?! "...a spider "person"." Cringe. "With your abilities comes great power." 🤮
Pretty much The only 2 MCU Spider Man Movies and Guardians 3 are the only Great Recent MCU movies and hopefully Deadpool & Wolverine joins them. Idk if Madame Web is worse than Quantumania or Love and Thunder or the Marvels (which I haven’t seen) but it won’t surprise me.

sony should stop making films of irrelevent characters. Even Venom struggles to meet audience liking so what chance would a character like this have
Alot of people want to see a madame web movie but it has to be done right
Madame Webb isn't an irrelevant character, she is very important to the Spider Verse as a whole.

Well, it did make Morbillion bucks. So… yeah? 🤷♂️
Hell yeah

all of fox marvel movies had studio meddling
Haha thanks for making me laugh at Sony for 13 minutes straight. You saved 2 hours of my life lol
Oh, and the movie about predicting future crimes is Minority Report with Tom Cruise

I just saw Angry Joe’s review who hated it and after seeing Jeremy Jahns’s review 😂 I cackled hearing you say Fant4stic was better!

This might be the second time the 90s Spider-Man cartoon will act like a remedy
you know something is bad when John the guy usually positive can't come up with many positives

Lol we literally got catfish on valentines day
Thanks MiniSuperHeroesToday 🙂🙏
I was really curious about this movie, so thanks for the heads up. Glad the popcorn was good though.
Wtf was sony thinking when they had the MORBIUS writers hired
Marvel had nothing to do with that it was just Sony
Sony said they intentionally for the “Morbius magic” the script had 😂
Oh sorry i meant Sony thank you eabricks
It’s like they wanted a flop
I think Sony should give up Spider-Man rights to Disney
1/10 is generous

That movie was something. The symbiote fights made it bearable.
This is gonna be the same studio who’s making the live action Zelda movie.
I’m scared.
Man, I didn't even think Madme Web could topped Morbius and Ant-Man Quantumania as the Worse Superhero movie
Don't tell me I'm not supposed to root for William Foster in _Falling Down;_ I LOVE that character and he was mostly justified!

Dang…

booooo

This movie will make a webillion dollars!
