4:33 Gotta love modular design/engineering/manufacturing. Everything's there because it would be more expensive to make several different wiring looms. Much cheaper to fit a blanking plug lol.
One thing I liked about ford was their ability to fit the wiring loom for all models. When. I owned a mk2 focus like yours, I done a number of upgrades. I replaced my light switch with one that had a dashboard dimmer. I also found the wires for the footwell lights under the dashboard. Just needed bulbs and the footwell lit up when the door was opened.
If you look under the dash the bulb holders are also there for the footwell lights. All you need to do is pop the 5w capless bulbs in and they will work!
I believe the fog lamps that are spare fit the mk7 transit 👌 - I’ve found a lot of fords you can easily retro fit options - I know on the mk7 transit you can add cruise control just by switching the steering wheel and enabling it in the software
Glad I found this, I bought 2 quarter bumpers with fogs for my mk7 Transit months ago, even got a switch from a Focus or C-Max but hadn't got around to fitting them. Bumpers still to fit but switch is already fitted and the wiring looms I found clipped to the front chassis legs, lights tested and working so ready to fit hopefully Friday if/when she passes MOT.
Hey dude, a quick way of checking if the bulb is blown is to put a multimeter on the diode setting. Touch the probes of the multimeter onto the 2 contact points of the bulb & if it shows an incomplete circuit you got a blown bulb & vice Versa. Your way is good too but if you don't have a 12V power source to hand that's the way I've seen other automotive electricians do it. Keep up the good work. 👍
Good Vid Jame's....did the same job on my old 07 fiesta....also had led halo rings round the edge real nice touch for daytime running lights. Keep up the good work mate all good stuff 👍
Check the looms in the footwells as you may have the bulb holders but without bulbs as I believe ford used the same loom for all models as it works out cheaper. Fit some w5w led bulbs in there n comes in handy if it’s dark and u dropped something and it’s possibly gone under Seat etc
so in theory if they used the same loom for every model would the wiring be in place for the heated front screen. my mk2 focus sport doesnt have a heated front screen but could i in theory replace the non heated with a heated.
You shouldn't have filed those Bulbs holders, the three prong shape is designed so that the bulb only fits in one position and it's normally correct then the wiring connector is facing downwards? It seems with you filing those holes your blubs are now most probably in the wrong position and hence this will adversely effect the beam pattern? I would go back again a check as these blubs out they should only fit in one of the likely three positions? Did you not think to try the blub in by rotating it around by one notch at a time till it fitted? Also don't fit LED lamps into those lighting fixtures! if you do the light will simply scatter everywhere and dazzle on coming drivers, as I had some LED lamps supplied with my fog lights and they were awful. I replaced them with standard H11 ones. Great videos BTW Paul.
Yes I know because I only just installed some after market fog lights into my VW Caddy and they were supplied with LED lamps which were useless, the light went everywhere!!! So changed them out for standard lamps, but with those it's very important that the filament is in the exact correct position for the correct beam pattern.
You had the problem with the bulbs because this type of foglights come with H8 bulbs. The other ones you had are H11 (for the facelift focus). I'm watching you from Romania and i also have a modified focus, and before i've done an Astra :)). Cheers mate!
I used to have the SPORT of this focus. Same colour too.. it was nice but after upgrading to a 2009 titanium in sea grey it made the SPORT look and feel terrible.. major upgrade and ride!
Focus is looking good mate and seems to be a reliable workhorse, I'm impressed! Did you fit the metal peddles yourself and was it a big job if so? Looks very smart.
No need to order new eyebrow trim's mate - I had this exact problem with my old MK2 when I had to change a fog bulb. The retaining clips along the trim become stretched once the trim itself has been removed & also with how tough it is to remove. As long as all of them are still intact & not snapped, simply inspect all of the clips and low and behold you will notice that one or two of them are slightly bent because of removal - gently bend them back so they are straight or ever so slightly bend them upwards so they can grip to the bumper better. If you order second hand ones or even new aftermarket ones, guarantee they will not fit properly.
Hi mate, big fan been a subscribe for a while. I’m buying my mums old MK2 pre facelift Focus off her and I’m considering fitting the facelift front bumper and have been told you need the facelift bonnet, wings, headlights and bumper. Do you think it’s worth it?
Hi I did exactly what you did with my 2007 mk 2 focus and I'm not getting the green front fogs light on , on the dash and the fog lamps aren't working . Any advice ?
What Do You mean about "2 fuses, one for either side" ? On MK2 fuse F69 (20A) on PJB is for BOTH front and back fog lights. From that fuse one *quite thin* (terrible to see) green-red wire goes to light switch XR pin and from switch via 83A pin (back) and green-orange wire and 83B (front) green-blue wire goes to supply of bulbs, WITHOUT any relays in power line!!
@@milek021 SORRY I ONLY WATCHED TILL WERE ONLY ONE FOG WAS WORKING I WAS THINKING ABOUT THE FORD WHICH I HAVE 2 FUSES FOR MY FOGS 1 FOR FRONT 1 FOR BACK
Any chance you could do a " How to service a ford focus LX 1.6 petrol Auto", recently brought one and want to service it. Great video on the fog lights 👍👍
Nothing extra needed for mk2 just a switch and lamps. The fog lams get 12v from the switch. Also you can do this withour buying a switch, connect pins 2 and 3 together in the lamp switch connector. 2 is for back and 3 is for front fog lamps. With this you switch both on/off the same time.
I might be wrong but I think the clips you should have for that are called Speed / Spire Fasteners U - Clips, I am sure someone will correct me if its wrong.
Interesting mod! I like how Ford make these upgrades nice and simple by leaving all the wiring etc Slightly related, I have the Focus Mk2 ghia so it has a lot of these upgrades already! BUT mine has the Sony CD132 I think its the 6 cd model, it has the phone button but how do I get the Bluetooth connecting to my phone? Pressing the phone button just mutes the audio, which seems to suggest I might need an additional module? Because I've seen videos where pressing phone should bring up a message like 'add phone' and thats how you pair a phone. As far as I know bluetooth was an option for a 56 plate focus?
Just give the trim a good wack they will go back in don't be shy I replaced them on my mk2 focus. Any more upgrade jobs cc door handles and mirror caps really easy and look great.
Hi...the Dealer just installed these on my 2019 RVR...and, instead of pointing down to the Road markings they are pointing to the Highway Exit Signboards????
Hi, I’ve done everything that you’ve done for getting the fog lights sorted, but I don’t think the wiring doesn’t go all the way to the socket that plugs into the switch. Is there a way around this or is that it for my fog light dream 🙁. If there is nothing else I can do, is there a way of turning them into “daytime running lights?”, thank you. The focus is a 2007 1.6 tdci LX.
Hi, have you reto fitted steering wheel controls on a 07 fiesta. The loom connection is there and i've upgraded to a genuine sony/ford dab and wondered if it would be a simple as your fog lights. Cheers
just swap the working fog lamp to the non working side and you would know if theres problem in the wire or the bulb.. no need playing with battery terminals.
Paid 50 euro to get a set of two with the plastics and bulbs. Best deal of my life. On another note. What engine size is yours. I have an LX 1.4 nó air con :( but I do have a sunroof xD
I needed a relay for mine. Lower grille Fog housing - Mine came with fixings. Bulb Light stalk Relay All bolt on I went further and added Electric mirrors, rear electric windows, interior light up-spec ( much better ) Main beam is not the same as driving beam.

Really happy that nearly all fords mk2 had the possibility to be kitted up like the Ghia even tho I have LX too
Have had my LX for over a year now, who knew they had parking lights! LOL Worth watching the video for that alone!
Just changed all the lights on my Mondeo to led. Gives the car a whole new look. Would definitely recommend them for the Focus.
Cable ties temp fix 🤔😯 matey they'll outlast the focus 😁
They next buyers problem anyway 🤣
Now that looks alot better, seems like a higher spec model Focus, with todays UK weather they are needed.great job.

Can't find no wires for my fog lights same model and same year bought all the stuff and no wires?
Hi, same problem here. My Focus is from Germany. Maybe I didn’t search enough ?
Yes finally, got a base model Focus mk2 back in January and have wanted to install fog lights on it, Thanks.

I would love it if you carried on with upgrades on this such as auto lights and wipers found on Titanium and Ghia spec cars!
Great video👍. How do you adjust the fog lights?
You shouldn't have filed those Bulbs holders, the three prong shape is designed so that the bulb only fits in one position and it's normally correct then the wiring connector is facing downwards? Absolutely agreed. They only go in one-way for a reason. Beam alignment !.

It’s a cheap bulb and an aftermarket fog lamp he would’ve filed the tiniest amount off so chill your bean you goon
That is just fogging great, great job mate.
Absolutely fantastic mate
Great video James , just goes to show you it was an easy job and well done ,
Did this to my MK1 focus today, basically the same procedure😊
I have a focus MK2 ghia 1.8 in tonic blue with the standard 16 inch alloys but you have the nicer 17 inch ones.
Looks smart mate you should think of upgrading to led fog light's but tbh they end up more like drls

Those square clips can often be found on mk6 fiesta inner wheel arch, easy to find at a scrap yard
Thanks for the video! But I can’t find any harness under the front lights :( I have the exact same model, but mine is a German import
very good i have had no sleep wrapping christmas presents lol
Can you do a video on rear wipers?
You should get the black headlights for the focus mate make It look even better on the front end along with the fogs
I had the black ones... Changed them to the chrome ones tho as the chrome ones look nicer and more up to date. Just a matter of taste
Maybe that bulb out of the fiesta may of fit the fog light unit without removing material??
I used to have the SPORT of this focus. Same colour too.. it was nice but after upgrading to a 2009 titanium in sea grey it made the SPORT look and feel terrible.. major upgrade and ride!
Thats actually insane
Car stuff is interesting but he’s fit aint he lads
Heat on grey trim is much more difficult to do but does last a few months... on balance i'd use products rather than a heat gun :)
Your very good at these things you know how to fix it or replace it
It seems you added a 100w bulb mate.
Hey '' first find ''. Appreciate the footage. Very interesting and enjoyable. Pity i'm not THAT hands on. Enjoy.
Hi there its a great video.
Would you know the part number of the switch you fitted to operate the fogs.
you need the white plastic inserts for the holes in your bumper to screw the fog lights in.
Looks amazing well done mate thanks for tips always very helpful
Thanks! You help me a lot🙌🏻
Nice one, great video after a boring day at work.. Keep it up
Glad the foglight install went without too much trouble. You should just buy some LED foglight bulbs anyway.
I install fog lights in ford edge they work ok but when I driving the white lights blink is this the way suppose to be thanks for you help
I have a seat leon 2002 but I don’t know where the wiring is would it be on it thanks
Have you ever done the egr on your fiesta
Focus is looking good mate and seems to be a reliable workhorse, I'm impressed! Did you fit the metal peddles yourself and was it a big job if so? Looks very smart.
Are the wires present in all mk2 models ?
Does the 2008 model Ford focus have the same wire for the fog light
18:05 I thought that fog lights only come in yellow as yellow light penetrates the fog whereas white light bounces back
Did you not need to change any wiring or relays for it to work? Cause I tried doing what you did but it did not work.
No need to order new eyebrow trim's mate - I had this exact problem with my old MK2 when I had to change a fog bulb. Thanks mate! Going to see if I can do this to my 2017 Ford Focus SE
How did it go
Pledge floor reviver is good for restoring plastics back to colour, much cheaper and lasts longer
Love the focus videos, get a leather st steering wheel next
