So far I’m really liking it but think it’s a bit overpriced when new. It doesn’t feel or sound any more premium than the flagship Two-Rock amps, but is priced a bit higher. The overdrive channel reminds me of a TS1 I had for a very short stint, in that it feels like it’s always too gained up. At the same time I love it, because you can get into an almost tube driven fuzz tone that’s pretty cool. Otherwise I get why they say it isn’t a ear popping 100 watts and the whole “bounce” thing JM talks about. It’s not much different than a good Two-Rock again, but the watts are all going to keeping a massive bottom end tight. This thing puts out so much bass through any cab that’s it’s insane, but it keeps it very tight and percussive at the same time. When matched with my 40 watt Bloomfield combo (run through 2x12) it’s a match made in heaven. The Bloomfield is more mid focused and the JMOD fills out the rest of the freq. Last note; I miss reverb. Currently the only reverb pedal I have is the Chase Bliss Mood, which is not a standard reverb. That said, had a chance to crank it up today while everyone was out of the house and the actual room reflections were great at those volumes. 👍
That said, I bought another TS-1. Currently it needs to go in for a repair before I can make a fair comparison, but they are more different than I remembered. Still very similar in the grand scheme of amps, but different enough that I’ll be keeping both. Either will do the job, so I’d just keep an eye out for any great deals on a used one. And then starting saving to buy the other too. 😆
wow you're playing is amazing
Thank you for your kind words!
Great sound! cool !
Thanks!
Sounds pretty nice to my ear - what are your honest impressions given the price point, etc?

I know it’s an old comment, but thanks for all the info. I was wondering how the J-Mod compares to the TS1… so you answered it perfectly!

Beautiful tones and setup. Next time leave out the PJ’s, they detracted from the vibe.
Ha! Wish I could but I literally only get time to play right before bed. I’ll try and make an effort to change before in the future.
