If you pick a map from the Wario game that isn't standard Gamer (you can do battlefield or omega Gamer), and choose the soundtrack also called "Gamer" (its the first one on the gamer stage), then the result is absolutely no music and complete silence in the background. This is the ultimate music counterpick and works every time on my friend. Highly recommend using it.
Sean Cummins I think they actually fixed that in smash ultimate. Now it constantly plays a loop of the “music” that plays when 5-Volt appears.
