Magellan arrived in Homonhon Island on March 16, 1521 and arrived on Cebu on April 7, 1521. My apologies for the mix up with the dates.
Sir what is the importance of magellan's voyage to the history of the philippines?
What were the discoveries that they made during their stay in the Philippines island?
Why did some Filipinos accepted the Spaniards, and why did some resisted?

Thank you so much for uploading this video sir!🤗
You only taught us for less than 30 minutes but everything's clear, ‘di tulad nung sa lesson namin na umabot ng oras yet we couldn't understand the speaker, since parang hindi sunud-sunod yung events na sinasabi niya and she's unsure with what she is saying. Anyway, sir. Thank you so much for this lesson.

Reading in PH makes me crazy. But upon watching this video I'd realized that it was not that boring and difficult to understand..thank you Sir!
Good day Professor and congratulations on a very good and "not-inducing-to sleep" presentation. The second comment I would like to give by way of observation and clarification perhaps is that the first to really have sighted, and in a sense discovered for the Western Civilization the ocean on the other side of the Americas (The New Word), was really Vasco Núñez de Balboa on September 25, 1513, which he called Mar del Sur (South Sea). Though admittedly it was Magellan who named it the Pacific Ocean which, when he came across it was at that first time of his, the ocean was very calm.
Thank you so much for the additional info po!
Because of that i want to read more history. you are truely story teller sir ty for knowledge💪🏼 ❤️❣️❣️

Thank you Sir for your discussion ❤️
Good day Professor. Thank you for your interesting presentation of the chronicle of Pigaffeta on the Archipelago which Villalobos in 1540s would later name the Philippines. The way you wrap it up and the important learnings one can gather from it is really admirable. May I just point some observations: 1. The use of the term "Filipinos" to refer to the natives in the said Archipelago that Pigaffeta and the Spaniards came across, is quite an "anachronism". The name Filipino was not yet in existence at the time of Lapu-Lapu, in the 16th century. It would be a term that would be embraced by the likes of Jose Rizal, much later in the succeeding centuries, specifically in the 1880s in their bid to assert their rights as the true Filipino citizens and not the Spaniards born in the Insular Philippines. As teachers in Philippine history, this has been a common mistake. At best though, we may refer to the said group of island peoples, as the natives of Mactan, or the native-ancestors of the Filipinos. I hope, I explained this well enough in the hope that our Filipino Youths of today shall know of how hard it was then for the heroes like Rizal, Graciano Lopez Jaena, Marcelo H. del Pilar, and the other propagandists in their time, to have asserted and won the right to be called Filipinos. Indeed it was a long and arduous struggle, and so we should value the name Filipinos and wear it as a badge of pride and symbol of courage.
Your the best prof for giving us such knowledge for free ^^
Well explained ❤️Thank you so much Sir
halaaa thank you so much po!! 🤧❤️ super appreciated po ito!!

Sir ask ko lang po
Did Pigafetta accurately recorded the voyage free from biases? Why or Why not?
Why do we need to study his account?
From my opinion of course he is bias towards his crew mates especially Magellan. Totally understandble since they are exploring the unknown. We need to study his account because it is one of the first written document about the early life of the Filipinos
Love this channel thank you po sa information

Good day Sir, May tanong po ako,
What is the important of the Journal/ Chronicle of Magellan's Voyage, the Author's background, The context of the background, the context of the document , and it's contribution to understanding Philippine History?
All in all I think Pigafetta and his book gave us the chance to know about our first recorded contact with the europeans. It also helped us to understand the way of life of the Filipinos during that period.
