I really have to hand it to Shiyi the strength and intellect she must have dealing with fake people in and out even smiling and being gracious to them.
Our girl Shiyi is definitely starting to feel something for the Marquis with that jealous look at 12:58. If looks could kill Lianfang would be smoldering ash at this point. Love Lingyi's awkwardness with Shiyi after his realization that he's in love with her. I feel like he partly agreed to visiting Lianfang to try and shake himself clear of his feelings for Shiyi. Though he did not sleep with her, if the hairstyle theory is to be believed. Apparently, someone noticed that after Shiyi and Lingyi do the deed, she stops parting her hair in the middle and starts parting it on the side, and all of his former side chicks have side parts too. LOL
The expression on his face when she interrupted them was like oh hell no this woman didn't looking at Shiyi and silently begging her not to leave him alone with the crazy woman And the look that Shiyi gave her when she was leaving was I got my eyes on you so you better watch yourself.
Ahhh... it totally makes sense now why Amber was assigned to Shiyi initially - if Shiyi couldn't get Hou Ye's attention, Amber would be the backup plan to try and seduce him. That explains why I always noticed she was unusually beautiful and styled more like a leading character than a maid.
Mr. Lin and Amber make a cute couple. I'm glad Amber has someone she somewhat depends on, although she should open up to Shiyi - Shiyi would definitely help her out.
This is one of my favourite episodes-- especially the part of having knowledge about the Orchid. Shiyi really presented herself with calm, being wise and with ease. The Great Madam had done an excellent job showing how good a;mother in law she is. 👏👏👏👏👏👏So great.
Shiyi was gonna confide in Lingyi but she got interrupted. She should've found another opportunity to come clean about all of the secrets she's keeping from him. They both have feelings for each other and Shiyi omitting the trust could cause unnecessary hurt and pain to the both of them.
Honestly, it was obvious that Shiyi was going to confess something. Lingyi is just dense. It's his own fault if he feels his wife doesn't want to tell him anything. They were interrupted. Sure. He should've looked for Shiyi after the interruption was over to let her finish her words if he really was interested in knowing what they were. But he chose to stay at his room sulking over how she's hiding things.

He has been trying to get to know her better so she will feel more comfortable with him. He is taking the initiative, Shiyi isn't. These are HER secrets. She should be the one to initiate this conversation, not him. She should WANT to share her burdens with the man she cares for. That's the whole point. If he has to go and pry the secrets from her then it obviously means they are still at square one. It takes two people to make or break a relationship. Everything isn't all just Lingyi's fault.

In fact, she hid her volunteering mainly because of her mother in law, not her husband.

That is the one and only reason she made sure Lingyi was the man she was marrying. But the reason doesn't matter now that they both have feelings for each other. She has plenty opportunities to tell him, like i said in my first comment, but hasn't taken them. Even if she was mainly keeping it from her mother in law that still shouldn't have kept her from telling her husband. I'm not blaming Shiyi, yet. I'm just pointing out a potential problem.

She was still mourning over her mom, she had all these eyes on her, she was grounded at home and the safe deal she had to leave was gone, so coordination was a thing to take into account. But idk, I guess that depends on the screenwriter. On the relationship, Shiyi is just starting to notice that Lingyi's move are more than just attraction or plain display of respect for her as his wife. She is starting to notice the loving undertones of it. So I think she'll open up soon anyways. She said it herself while in the car. She was willing to give out her heart if he would give his to her. But regardless of anything, my first comment was just on how Lingyi is anxious over something that could be easily fixed. If he's taken the iniciative in other things, he could've asked about the matter. He's pretty direct when he wants to. He's being timid 'cause he likes her. Which is funny and exasperating at the same time, because such an insightful man is becoming dense because of love. A script can be developed towards several directions.
Yeah but I also tend to tell strangers rather than people I am familiar with, because strangers won’t do anything and it’s kinda hard to tell someone you know like it’s the pressure, sometimes it’s more comfortable to speak your feelings to someone you don’t know
It's like free therapy. Have you ever heard about people who go on airplanes and spill their guts out to the person beside them? Apparently it's a thing, and they don't have to worry about ever seeing that person again. But in the case of Amber, I think it's more to do with her crush on Mr. Lin. When you have a crush on someone your brain tricks you into believing you're closer to that person than you really are.

Sadly, Amber isn't the only one who doesn't trust the right person with her secret in this drama. Have recently been thinking of rewatching this while I wait for more 'Who Rules the World' episodes. There are so few kind characters like Shiyi, her hubby, Mr Lin and the emboidery shopkeeper in these dramas and it will be great to re-visit them.
Shiyi's words were correct its more shameful to pit oneself against family outside. Erniang is being stupid and yes i pity her but instead of changing herself she's blaming Shiyi. Grandma standing up for Shiyi and trusting Shiyi is great. And omg the Ou Family did this!
Was gifted a beautifully presented wooden box and within it lay a Yun Brocade tie and lady's shawl. The detail is exquisite! I thought it was rather fitting gift as I was watching this Chinese drama!
Due to Lingyi and Shiyi past experiences they have trust issues that will be resolved as they gain each other’s trust through protecting each other. Shiyi had to be smart and strategic living in the environment she was raised in so that’s why she is independent and strong willed. It’s good but also can be a hinderance at times. Lingyi was cold to protect his family and a filial son to his mother but there is a limit. His love for Shiyi makes him more courageous towards his mother and protective of Shiyi ❤❤even when their are unnecessary misunderstandings
