Over 700 signups for the second iteration of the smash hit ADV Revival. ABR is such a menace!
Guy makes some moves and just locks some games, opponent can't find a way out. It really is impressive. Such knowledge and understanding of the game and what move to make and what to keep alive.

ABR is intimidating
My guess is Swampert and Tyranitar were the only answers to Blissey, besides maybe a Smeargle Explosion (assuming it had it). I still think the forfeit was too premature, since Smeargle could have gotten some more Spikes up and Starmie could be pressured with Zap, but if the rest of the team was bad into Blissey then it would definitely have been an uphill battle since ABR would likely not have allowed Blissey to ever be in a situation where it could be in danger.
Still, it's definitely a shame. UDM had chances, just got intimidated and threw in the towel without much effort. That's not the mental fortitude you would expect of a top player.
I feel like UDM forfeited early in both games.
In game 1 I feel they still could have won with some good predictions with Mence and 1 Para on the Milo.
Maybe they just knew they couldn't break what was left in game 2, but I thought they would try 😢
Probably a bit of a mental crash. ABR is a very intimidating opponent. Like "Im up against the best pokemon player of all time Im obviously getting torn to pieces I have no chance"

Soon thank you for showing the bracket! Tournaments would be a lot easier to follow, if people reference the bracket a bit more!
ABR is truly the GOAT and I'm rooting for them. I became a fan after seeing them being one of the only reasonable ppl in the Machamp suspect test and get rudely attacked for stating their opinion.
I do wish UDM had played it out, but I understand its a tough mental game and esp in 2 it was already over. I've played games on Showdown and Chess where I break mentally, and know I can't win, even if the position seems even
Im not surprised that ABR won. I do however am surprised that he uses Rock Slide Aero. He is that person who uses HP Rock Regirock and isnt a fan of inaccurate moves
Well Regirock doesn't need another Hidden Power to function optimally like Aerodactyl does and is also slow af.

Aero abuses the 30% flinch chance of RS, since it is the fastest Pokémon in the tier.
Regirock is too slow to take advantage of that. Comparing RS to HP Rock, the +5 Base Power is not worth the -10 Accuracy.
This is also why Steelix and Donphan often prefer HP Rock.

I see ABR in a video, I root for his opponent, simple as (don't hate him, just want to see an underdog win)
Actually very close game 1, if UDM had been a bit more patient he could have rested the harijama again, letting him more wiggle room to stall out toxic and surf allowing a mence sweep
@batatino8805 upon rewatch im pretty sure Yama actually hadn't burned any turns of sleep (I misread the UI and thought it said 0 turns remaining when it really says 0 turns spent asleep). also, even if he had been able to wake up, clicking rest loses to ABR going Dug. I do think there's a world where he could've stalled the final toxic towards the very end, tho
Milotic Blissey Dugtrio Skarmory is simply the most optimal defensive core now.
Like myself using Dugtrio lead before he popularized, I also in the past few months have adopted Lead Aerodactyl as another wave of the future. If you look at its matchups, it simply beats almost everything, especially with this defensive core backing it.
This Semi-Stall is simply the new meta.

@@pokeZetts Jim uses the word fruition like this all the time and it's always wrong lol. You must have picked it up from him or someone else who got it from him. I thought you all were saying it wrong as a joke this whole time hahah. When something comes to fruition, it just means that that thing came to pass aka it happened or was realized. The association I think you're making is that fruition is this idea of doneness or wholeness from coming full circle or something manifesting in its entirety or seeing something out to its end - basically, fruition means that everything has happened that's gonna happen versus you have as much hp as you're gonna have.
G1 demonstrating the power of dug to just pin things down eventually. Arena trap so strong I’ve been using lead dug alt weather a lot and it’s really the strongest weather less you can run. Feels way better then dug in back type of weather less or non dig weather less

can someone explain game 2
I'm only a casual watcher, but this is what I think happened: the Swampert was running an Endeavor set (which sets the opponent's HP to the same as the user's), with Surf, Substitute and Roar as the other moves. This meant ABR's Starmie could just sit on it, taking trivial damage from Surf and Recovering it off, threatening to PP stall the Swampert with its much higher PP moves. Since it wasn't breaking the subtitute, Swampert couldn't use it again to get down to a range in which Endeavor would do any real damage. Even if it switched out and back in to force the issue, Starmie outspeeds and either recovers or just takes it out once its subbed down to critical health, I'm guessing.
Thus UDM was essentially down two 'mons, including a DD TTar which might be his only hope of breaking through Blissey or something. Smeargol is also fragile and slower than Starmie or Gengar, and burned on top of that, so if it was planning to explode, suddenly that isn't nearly as scary. Meanwhile ABR's team is almost fresh aside from Gengar being asleep and a bit of chip damage on Regirock, and 3 of them can run explosion, which often forces a trade. UDM's unrevealed team might also be special attackers stonewalled by Blissey, or otherwise be really weak to ABR's team
Basically udm lost his win condition which was dd tar. He probably didn't have anything in the back to deal with blissey, so he forfeited.
I think Salac Pert was UDM’s only real answer to push through SkarmBliss so with no TTar flinches, a dying Smeargle who achieved very little, and Starmie hard walling it its gg. Unfortunate matchup

Yeah I imagine dd tar was his win condition. Maybe he didn't have a way to beat bliss after he lost it.
