I love using these. I also agree with no planting the entire thing, the newspaper will take longer to decompose than the seedling will grow. I like to lay the newspaper on top as a mulch afterwards.

Genius, we need to use what we have and reduce plastic where we can.
No flat glass? Use a TIN CAN with both ends off and taped so you don't cut yourself.
Now a days plastic is ruling everywhere n we all really need to understand that before our planet turns into a giant ball of plastic we need to wake up n start replacing plastic as much as we can .....loved ur idea

AND you didn't spend $30 on a wooden pot maker that does the same thing as the glass. I can see using a matte knife at planting time to make 3-4 short vertical slits in the paper if you are concerned about the root ball falling apart. The slits will allow roots to find their way out and this keeps the integrity of the pot when you plant it.

No ma'am for seeding the plant u don't need to put a lot of water ...u just pour a little n the paper will not get harmed coz of that water
Water lightly. Keep it in a tray. Newspaper is so tough that inmates make shafts out of them.
