To sum it up from all these videos, coming from a Millennial, show that Gen X/Baby Boomers be doing the most and the Gen Z be doing the least and the Millennials we just do what we do and we do it well.
In the context of this skit they are. Two generations that had their shit together. Millennials and Gen z all want to be RUclips/TikTok stars. "Why can't I be a millionaire for simply being me 😭"
Millennial here. I'm rocking a Bachelor's degree, worked while full time student, 6 years in customer service and office work, and 200+ applications sent out without a single call back. Good luck everybody. They don't make it easy out there.
Right?!?! There's a lot of "you need a master's," or "you don't have enough experience." But Gen X with a high school diploma is embraced with open arms.
Gen Z said that his qualifications were that "he was there". Smdh. I guess thats all it takes for them. Gen X over here (raised by boomers and silent generation relatives). 🎉
I've got friends who hire people and, "I showed up for the interview," is a major selling point. Other selling points include * Decent eye contact. * Spoke reasonably well. * Potential employee's parents did not pretend they were the one's being interviewed.
It is actually, because landing a job for anybody these days (and especially Gen z who have no previous work experience or all the insane educational requirements they want now) so on the rare occasion that we get an interview, we’ll just be straight up. Companies won’t hire people as much anymore so they’ll take you even if they’re not sure about you, and you’re both desperate, so let’s be obvious about what we’re both wanting. They don’t have the life experience to be confident about selling themselves or to interrogate the company, but they’re not playing games either
I am a millennial, my children (8 and 10) are gen alpha, but me and my wife raise them GenX style. Sometimes even also with "the look" if necessary. Ain't no child of us gonna be grown up a spoiled brat.
Every generation probably says that about their K-12 students. My 10 year old does coding for fun. They'll probably replace surgeons with biotech robotics for a lay person's price. 👌
I remember in one interview the lady said what are your plans for next week. 😊 I said my plans are to be starting training here at your company. Do you have another time frame? She smiled, but I did get the job. In my head i was like i can start now.😂
I can't get hired. I'm Gen x with a masters degree in education, but I left teaching. The people who interview me for jobs make things so unnecessarily complicated and are still not organized. But I am expected to be organized. They don't want to hire me permanently because then they have to pay health insurance. Or OT. Or 401(K). Or anything.
I’m an old millennial or young gen X. Getting jobs has been easy for a while. I have an irrelevant degree, but I’ve been working for 20 years, so I’m an engineer. Occasionally someone in HR says something about “you need an engineering degree” so I just get a different job. Halfway through your career, people only care if you can do your job or not.
Heck , I’m an millennial and I ASK questions. You better ask questions and you better make them put whatever request that you asked before accepting the job to PUT IT IN WRITING, before accepting the job. You are the one that will be responsible for the job and the work they place onto you . I come with degrees in the right field and certificates to match , I’m not settling at this stage of my life . Because these companies will have no problem getting rid of you .

Gen X are the ones who interviewing the company, true. We have seen too many shit to lose time for another “we are the family here” and “we have a mission” type of entities.
I'll be honest - as a hiring manager since I was 18, when someone comes in for an interview on their phone or in normal clothing, it is an automatic red flag. I've only had only a couple of cases where someone came in normal clothing and apologized because they were currently trying to come up from a hard situation but they still tried their best to look as professional as possible and both of them turned out to be some of the best people to hire and some of the best people to know. Love their jobs and progressed quickly through promotions.
As a Millennial who was raised by Gen X/Baby Boomer elders, I can appreciate just how official, authentic and straightforward they are. They play no games, and their no nonsense approach to pretty much everything, is respectable 💯
Procrastinate university shirt said it all. 😂 I’m Gen X by the way, but have no experience with job interviews. Have been working with same government company since after college.
I was at work standing at the receptionist's desk when this gal walks in that was scheduled for an interview. She might as well as had on a Hooter's outfit because that's how she was dressed. She takes off for the ladies room and comes out dressed in appropriate attire for her interview with HR. We all just stared at one another like, are you seeing what I'm seeing? Strangest thing I've ever witnessed at work. LOL!
I’m Gen X and in 2002 I applied for a job. I was 34 at the time. When it came to work experience on the application I asked them how far back did they want me to go? They said “5 years”. I said that was the same job I was at now. “10 years” they said. “Same job.” I said. “15 years?” “Same job.” I said. Then they literally said, “Ok, don’t worry about it, you’re hired.”
Millennial here - everybody else has something admirable about them. The no-preparation by Gen Z is not good, but I like the no-nonsense; let’s cut through the BS approach. Don’t know how many positions you’ll get, but I like it anyway 😂 Boomers/Gen X is also straightforward, but in that let-me-get-the-right-information way. I get the feeling that if ol’ boy didn’t offer a 401k, Gen X/Boomer would have thanked him for his time, shaken his hand, & wished him a good day on his way out 😂. He got grandkids. He ain’t for this independent contractor, temporary employee for ten years stupidity 😂
Gen x / baby boomer Wtf, those are very much not the same thing. Many baby boomers are retired at this point anyway, they aren’t really in the workforce as much anymore
Gen X’r here. I am a Special Ed Teacher. When I interviewed I would let them know that I am also interviewing them. I need to be a good “fit” for them but the reverse is also true. I could get away with it because this is a high demand low supply field. I truly love what I do and work at a great school. We both saw a mutual benefit in each other - they offered and I accepted. They saw my value, I saw theirs. Win-win!
Its the Millenial starting off on the phone making plans for after the interview and stating being blessed and highly favored But the college floored me!!!! Are we all on a similar journey in this thing called life! Cause Im hollering

Most elder millennials would interview the company as well because we are known as the entitled generation. I also prefer to speak with someone on the phone. lol
"Do you guys actually have a phone number I can call, or is it only text, email, emojis, and acronyms and stuff? I need to know because I wasn't able to get anyone on the phone". As a Gen Xer, this made me laugh so hard! I am that person that wants to speak live, on the phone, with an HR rep or manager if I'm applying for a job and have questions. The Gen Z depiction was funny as hell also. Thanks for these videos. They're brilliant & always make me laugh!! 😂😆🤣

I’m a GenXer and I love your videos! They crack me up, but I also think GenZs sometimes get a bad rap. We have 4 GenZ kids - well two are on the border of GenZ and Millennials. I am proud to say they all are self sufficient working adults contributing to society lol. Even my baby (22) has his own apartment and he definitely had a resume and knew how to interview. 😊
I’m starting so think this isn’t so much a “generation” thing, but more of a maturity/experience thing. As you grow, you learn what to say, and what you need to ask. I’m a late millennial and vividly remember when job hunting for my first job (at a hot topic), i was asked, “why do you want this job “ lol i responded with a side eye and said “uh because I want money” 🙃 I did not get the job lol. I got better with the more interviews I did for more professional jobs. Now that I’ve held profession positions, I’m finna be the one asking the questions like your genX depiction. “What is the work culture, how do you train your employees, what are your pathways for growth, do you expect salaried workers to be available on call on weekends, what is your PTO policy, what are your other benefit and investment plans?”
I decided a long time ago that I would not do business with a company if I couldn't get a human being on the phone. The ride share apps are pressing me. I can't catch a cab on the street like I used to do.
@@marctm7614 And modern society is incapable of dismantling it. Sounds like an impasse and a great opportunity to find a society that doesn’t rely on it.

Gen Z here. The last few times I’ve interviewed have always been chill. I actually had an interview on Friday and the second round on Monday (don’t tell my current employer) and it went great. I was asked the important questions and then I did the reverse. Me and the interviewer did a lot of laughing and little jokes. Felt like a conversation between two people who were familiar with each other. Most jobs require your resume before you even get an interview so that’s never an issue. The problem is that today people are already at a disadvantage because of decline in cultural values and society saying it is okey . Another thing is society normalizes single parenthood and pretty much threw values that lead to success in the garbage.
@@queensgambit4982 I could not have said it better myself! Amen. I predict and I pray that we will have a return to the traditional values that made this nation the greatest nation on earth and the most prosperous as well. Everything eventually comes full circle and I believe this will as well.

I'm Gen x and I've raised my Gen z daughter to work like we did. She's the only one among her friend's with a great cv at such a young age
I'm Gen X 47...I raised my Gen Alpha like how my Boomer parents raised me. My 16 yr old has a resume and has been coached on how to "perform" in interviews.
Fifty years ago ----
Question "What are your qualifications for this job?" Answer "I'm here", Interviewers answer "will call you back on February 30th!
LMAO I'm Gen X and that is basically how my interviews go....in fact my current job was even easier than that....I filled out an online application and attached my resume and the next morning someone called and asked when I could start....I never even went in for an interview lol.
😂😂
They were just so happy that a Gen Xer applied that you got the job without an interview! LOL I've actually heard my boss talking to other business owners around town who are all looking for Xers.
what position is that for?
I wish I could have such luxury's
It just ain’t fair!

A true OG response "I can start yesterday"😅
😂
Millenials stay with a job and stay at places for a long time. I stayed at the YMCA for 10 years. LOL
Yep. As a Millenial, we like stability and consistency ❤. I stayed at my job at the hospital for 8 years. Gen Z stay at a job for 3 months. 😊😊
I never did such a thing. I stayed on jobs mostly about a year, and 20 months in one. Most were not worth staying in for. So I became an English teacher (as a second language) and teach in different schools every year.
@@teetee8654 OMG I stayed at the YMCA for 15 years 🤩 Best job I ever had. I only left to make more money in government but boy am I ever earning every cent of it 😏
Isn't the way to earn more salary for awhile now is for younger people to jump an employer every ~2-3 years? Of course it depends on the company or industry, but thought that was more normal than it used to be. -GenX
What y'all know about that Millennial switch up! 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏾♂️✊🏾💯😂

Always.
To sum it up from all these videos, coming from a Millennial, show that Gen X/Baby Boomers be doing the most and the Gen Z be doing the least and the Millennials we just do what we do and we do it well.
Hell yea
Period! Lol
Gen X and Boomers are not the same!
Thank you! And it’s “Baby Boomers” you whipper snappers! 😭😭😭
@@marybourke7652X here. I also "interview" the company! I just prefer emails/text to phone calls (because then I have proof of what you told me).
In the context of this skit they are. Two generations that had their shit together. Millennials and Gen z all want to be RUclips/TikTok stars. "Why can't I be a millionaire for simply being me 😭"
But we act very similar in today’s world!
For sure they’re completely different.
Millennial here. I'm rocking a Bachelor's degree, worked while full time student, 6 years in customer service and office work, and 200+ applications sent out without a single call back. Good luck everybody. They don't make it easy out there.
You can’t be wearing the polo shirt to an interview lol jk jk🤣🤣
❤🙏🏾
🙋🏽♀️
Millennial, Gen Z makes sense with this one. Resumes are pointless
I've got friends who hire people and, "I showed up for the interview," is a major selling point. Other selling points include
* Decent eye contact.
* Spoke reasonably well.

Only when you have nothing useful to put on it. But yep.
The earbuds....😂...accurate.
Just wait til gen alpha enters the workforce. I teach those children and they are a totally different breed.

I am a millennial, my children (8 and 10) are gen alpha, but me and my wife raise them GenX style. Sometimes even also with "the look" if necessary. Ain't no child of us gonna be grown up a spoiled brat.
They’ll be adults when they get to the workforce though, they’ll be different types of people lol
Every generation probably says that about their K-12 students. My 10 year old does coding for fun. They'll probably replace surgeons with biotech robotics for a lay person's price. 👌
@@TomZwaenepoelthank you for that
😂😂😂. Facts. But as a geriatric millennial, not true. I have two degrees, a great resume, and would never be on the phone during an interview.
🤷🏾♂️🤷🏽♀️
What are some of your qualifications for this position?
Qualifications?
I'm here...I know you guys are hiring. 😆
“Resume? What is that??!!” 😂😂😂 Oh lawd. We are doomed.
😂😅😂😅I'm so proud of my generation : Gen X. "When can you start?" "I can actually start yesterday" 😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Me: Asks a Gen Z'er a basic interview question.
Gen Z'er: Gets defensive because I'm "lo-key coming at him sideways": "You asking me for a resume? That's a microaggression"
It's like you are watching my life LOL
Im a mix of millennial and gen X. I ask what pay they off and benefits. I also dress professionally and sound like an adult. I also dont have any degrees. 😅😂 I am certified, a high school diploma, and two decades of experience... And to some places not even two degrees and five years of experience is anything. 🙄😤 Employeers are a**holes now a days because they can get away with it... That's why the job market is sh*t and so many people are unemployed, broke, and or homeless.
😂😂😂🤣
For real, I saw a job cleaning at the local hospital required you to have an associates degree, no joke. To clean up after patients I gotta go to college??? 😂
Gen X here. I wore a suit & tie to interviews as a mechanic and a temp office worker (got hired both times). It just shows effort & respect to dress well for interviews. I would wear a tie to interview at McDonald’s
✊🏾💯
Did dude have stains on his shirt and tie? That’s beside the point, he got the job that he needed…yesterday. 😂😂😂😂😂😂good skit!!!!

Thank you 😂 I thought I was the only one noticing that. Looks like lipstick stains 😂
💯💯
I'm Gen X but I see Gen Z's point.
"I'm here and you're hiring."
For a lot of jobs, that should be sufficient.
"How do you plan on supporting our corportate mission?" 🤮🤮🤮
I understand the point. I wouldn’t say it in the interview, though. I have been taught otherwise, lol.
Boomer here. I wore a dress to an interview at a lical grocery store. Hired without any real questions. They had looked over my application.
Procrastinate university shirt said it all. 😂
I’m Gen X by the way, but have no experience with job interviews.
LOL!
😂😂
What are your qualifications? "I'm here for work and you guys are hiring, I don't know what else you need from me?" such an honest answer!!
🤷🏾♂️🤷🏽♀️
I’m Gen X and in 2002 I applied for a job. I was 34 at the time. When it came to work experience on the application I asked them how far back did they want me to go?
They said “5 years”.
I said that was the same job I was at now.
“10 years” they said.
“Same job.” I said.
“15 years?”
“Same job.” I said.
Then they literally said, “Ok, don’t worry about it, you’re hired.”
Hey Gen Z showed up for the interview. Why can't he get the job 😂😂😂😂
Literally dismissed 80% of my interviews this season because of the airpod pandemic.
Millennial here - everybody else has something admirable about them. The no-preparation by Gen Z is not good, but I like the no-nonsense; let’s cut through the BS approach. Don’t know how many positions you’ll get, but I like it anyway 😂
Boomers/Gen X is also straightforward, but in that let-me-get-the-right-information way.
😂😂😂
FACTS! I’m in between millennial and GenX. We don’t come to play; we’re going to get that job!

Win-win!
Hilarious! I fell out seeing the glasses. I turned 50 this yr & have been wearing glasses for 12 yrs.😂😂😂

Stop lumping baby boomers and Gen X into the same group! We are nothing alike (and separated by, you know, 30-40 years)
Its the Millenial starting off on the phone making plans for after the interview and stating being blessed and highly favored But the college floored me!!!! Are we all on a similar journey in this thing called life! Cause Im hollering

❤
No u didnt do that to millennials! Cuz 1. I got degreeS and 2. Im all about my benefits too haha, wont work without them ❤
🤷🏾♂️🤷🏽♀️

Agree. Pathetic boomers trying to piggyback on the superior generation😊
He knows that they’re not the same - there is absolutely an age gap. But the pairings apply for many of these skits. He’s just demonstrating the similarities in many of their reactions because they were both primarily raised by the silent generation and generation Jones. There are some skits when the differences are significant enough to separate the two, and when that’s the case he does so. He has explained all of this in a previous video.

I’ve been tweaking and adding to the same resume I’ve had seen creating one as an assignment in high school.
You sound motivated, that's great.
