The tests are very nice since they show real life scenarios, but more importantly, Its great to see videos on radio stuff with good videography, young people, nice scenery and laid back electronic music. Its a great change from the usual old guys in basements, "preppers", etc.

A very good test Lewis and cheap does not mean bad radios and the small antenna works well and if you are on a budget like most are and you want a radios for PMR or 70cm buy them

Great video Lewis. I’ve had great results from the T1 too. Good to see pictures of the terrain, looks a great part of the country. Thanks for the time and effort you put in.

Really enjoying the scenery around your area Lewis! Very relaxing!
Got a bit of a surprise seeing a train go over what I thought was an aqueduct over the canal!
And yes, with so much bandwidth at 70cm, amazing that a QSO sprang up on the one frequency you were calling on. They must not have been able to hear you.

I have the Retevis RT22 which is their labeled version of the KD-C1. They have been really handy and great little radios. 73, K2WLF/WQZW588

Excellent. I've got a T1. Seems I must add a WLN to my collection. Also, what lovely locations. I must visit for some photography. And now I know the sizes compared to the average cactus. :)

Sods law that the channel was being used when u were doing your test lol. I bet it was quiet for the rest of the dat. My wln does just under 2vwatts Lewis but its cot a very sensitive receiver in it. I will have to try the t1 next. Great vid mate.

The bft1 is junk i went with the uv 3r beacuse you have more options as far as antennas and frequencies but the major thing about it is the bft1 can't be programmed on the radio you need a computer where a the uv 3r can be program on the radio

The BF-T1 has FCC part 95 type acceptance making it legal for GMRS and FRS use now. Not sure about the WLN radio though.
Also why did you use a repeater frequency, I would have use something else. I do all my range testing on one of my licensed commercial frequencies like 461.8250 MHz or 464.2125 Mhz so it's only me on there and no one else can just hop on for a chat.
WLN makes another radio similar to that that has a proper antenna per say. KD - C10. I don't own any of that brand though but may consider them for the neighborhood watch here since they are small and cheap and they have their own commercial repeater set up locally.

i also have both prefer the WLN over the t1.The WLN has better audio and more control over volume level and just seems to get out better, but they are both great value for money
