Great pod. Have followed the stevens bros for a while. Surprised Dan Agnew is still huntin there. Great people who respect and love the animals and land. Thanks Cam. Love the go Trump.
Very informative and great representation by Homer, Mark & Tim. I’m certain the hunters from the San Carlos Apache Tribe appreciate your expertise in guiding & management. Thanks!
For everyone who jumps straight to the comments talking about the “insane” prices for a hunt on this land just doesn’t appreciate the culture and history . I’d pay serious money just to sit and pick these guys brain for an hour and cam just gave us that for free. As non-tribal members we should fight for the same management system and ethics as they have, for public lands . They’ve cultivated an extremely healthy population of Elk , that’s taken decades to up-bring and maintain that the entire tribe respects and is proud of. Just remember we are on stolen land , don’t judge them for how they control the land they do have left . If you don’t like it , continue posing with your way less expensive 320” bulls and mind your own!
The most educational hunting video I’ve watched. 1. Fence out cows. 2. Put seasons on antler collecting. 3. Contain your energy stalking in. (I’ve learned not to face directly at an animal & I will sway back & forth with the wind when real close). I learned something, thanks. Good job on interviewing these gentlemen. It’s hard to draw people out.
@@leroyjones769$10,000 for Archery bull tag, must hire a guide as well. That said, they only kill 10 bulls a year, not including the 8 management/cull tags.
$100k to hunt elk?? Cam works hard for what he's achieved in life, but 6 figures??? He either has a very supportive wife or he's one of the most selfish guys I've ever heard about. This is probably the 5th or 6th time he's hunted the San Carlos. He may get a tax write off if it's filmed for his podcast or RUclips channel, but if not, that is just asinine. Spend the money for the Super Slam and see more of the world and bigger adventures.
@@brianarrington6589I could care less about that reservation. I'd rather hunt Alaska. It's incomparable. Colorado, New Mexico, Utah have elk just as big for a guided hunt that is 1/10 to 1/5 the cost. I could hunt Dall sheep in the Yukon and Alaska 5 times for the cost of the San Carlos. The tribe is playing on people's emotions. It's just elk. Utah has more record book elk than anything in San Carlos.
@@martialarts4life393 I have been to Alaska and the Yukon and have hunted the San Carlos you can hunt the San Carlos for 7500. I have never seen a Dall Sheep hunt for 7500. And hate to break it to you Utah doesn’t have more record book elk than AZ.
@@brianarrington6589For Boone and Crockett, Montana is the top of the list, followed by Arizona by a whopping 7 entries more than Utah. Utah has the world record typical elk at 543 inches. That dwarfs Arizona, especially Sam Carlos. Cam spent about $100k on each hunt in a very specific location on the reservation. He's mentioned it on his podcast before. Good luck ever getting a tag for San Carlos for $7500. Maybe anterless in a crappy area. I'd much rather hunt mountain lion for $6,000-$7000. Far more exciting, remote, and physically demanding.
Simply put thank you to all 4 of these men.
Very interesting conversation. Thanks Cam and the Stevens Brothers.
This is by far my very most liked podcast . Wish I could of been around to hear the story's and take in the knowledge!

Watching from N.M Pueblo country. Epic sit down with hunters from the Rez. Take note boys n girls..
How does someone go about getting the opportunity to hunt with these guys? Awesome podcast.
I may be wrong, but I think it’s at least $30,000 to hunt on that reservation.

@@leroyjones769Google it. Shows on the 2 premier locations $20k plus trophy fees. Other locations on the reservation no cost except your license

If you have never hunted the San Carlos then you don’t understand. It is one of the most remote and special places you could ever hunt.

40k at most for the top tags , also antlerless go for around 900$ . You’re ignorant and don’t deserve to be on this amazing country .
You're a creative genius, seriously!
Wonderful people that care for and have a passion for tradition and the future of the hunt! Great Video!

With love, need better audio for these mobile pods. Such good crews! Would love to hear it better
Simply amazing! Back Country bow hunting. Sometimes I just read it again for fun. Thx Cam!
30k for that hunt but can’t afford some pledge for that table??
30?
