      I'm glad you enjoyed seeing my car, and happy your snapchat friends enjoyed it too.
      I built it to make people smile 😃 either love it or laugh at it!
      I'm always working on it, anything you can help me with is appreciated.

    Thanks for the link! It’s not easy finding parts for our smart cars! Mines a 2009 gasser, kw v2 suspension so far…. Better quality dampeners are a huge upgrade!!!

      Great to hear I helped you out, I was thinking about the KW kit too.. Actually I am surprised that they do make quite a few parts for these Smart cars.

      @@HandyDan Thank you for being active on your account! 😎 I have a couple questions for you. The rubber in these adjustable rear connecting arms, do you feel it is softer, harder or about the same flexibility as the stock units? Also, did you see if the bushings are the same diameter and thickness as the stockers? I’m wondering if they could be upgraded with poly units say from powerflex? (Powerflex makes a kit for our cars)
      I contacted LYKT and this is the only part they currently offer. They also said they can make other things if wanted, I’m going to ask them about adjustable A-arms, the car needs negative front camber bad!
      I ordered them for a couple reasons.
      1. Want rear toe adjustment
      2. These are the only ones I see that are offered for 451’s with the drop down relief/clearance similar to stock. And from your video to looks like it is even more than the stock bars. HardRacing makes them but they are straight. My issue is, I have a curt trailer hitch and now that my car is lowered I’m having clearance issues with the stock bars and the hitch plates. I’ve had to do a little grinding and if these lykt arms have more clearance than stock we’ll be grand!
      Could be nice to chat sometime! 🤠

      @@The-BCC I try to stay active on my youtube channel, sometimes I wonder why my subscribers are so low. I think the bushings are a little more stiff than stock, but my stock ones were kinda weathered. You can always email me and maybe we can text or chat.

    So these bars are for any Smart Fortwo 451 that might need a future wheel alignment?
    Sorry probably a dumb question but I usually just take the car in.
    I’ve never had a Smart Car alignment done yet and I’ve heard alignment in the Smart cannot be adjusted. Is that true?
    Will these bars help with that when I take it in? Thank you.
    Lastly, I have stock 15 OEM wheels and trying to upgrade with a bigger or just wider wheel and tire but not sure what I can get without rubbing on my lowered H&R springs (.7 back and 1.2 front)

    Hi, Handy. I was wondering if you sell any of your custom made smart diy parts. I am interested in the aeros kit front, side, and diffuser and or measurements, diagram. Anything would greatly appreciated. Thank for your awesome videos and awesome workmanship

    • @HandyDan
      @HandyDan  3 года назад +2

      I have all of my parts done in Solidworks, if you have any way to make them I can provide you with the information. I have been asked if I sell the parts but so far not enough interest.

      @toddfrye1208 3 года назад +2

      @@HandyDan If you were to manufacturer and sell the aeros kits, what be good guessimation. I have no milling machine and I would not have any idea where to go in my city to get these produced. Thank you so much for your awesome build

    • @HandyDan
      @HandyDan  3 года назад +1

      @@toddfrye1208 thank you for the interest, first off the material I used is ABS plastic because of the fact my milling machine is light duty and small. The cost of the 3 sheets 30" X 40" alone is over $200, then shipping in the USA is $120, so by the time I make a kit, I'd need to charge for my time and the price would be high for plastic parts that you still have to mount yourself.
      If you want, I can make a kit, what's it worth to you?

    very cool. I have been having a similar alignment issue. Might give these a try!

    • @HandyDan
      @HandyDan  3 года назад +1

      Yes, front alignment should not be adjusted to accommodate pull, it should be balanced and the front regardless of toe in or out, caster or camber will always align perfectly perpendicular to the front center. If the rear center is not parallel with the front, a car will pull. So in my experience it is best to align the front to factory specs and adjust the rear axle center for eliminating pull.

    Great video mate 👍
    Do you know whether these adjustable camber arms is made for the Roadster model?
    I havent been able to find any yet.
    Was also wondering whether they might be the same as the ones for the ForTwo? 🤔
    Cause then I'll give them a try 🙂

    • @HandyDan

      Apparently they have the arms only for the 451, which has other suspension than the 450 / 452 models :(

    The problem I have is that I have H&R lowering springs and my Euro mechanic mentioned that I will have major tire wear issues if I do so. I imagine that this product would solve this issue. Also, any suggestions on what max wheel and tire size I can go for front and rear on a stock 451 after lowering it? I am having trouble finding good looking wheels and tires without spacers and rubbing issues. Thanks.

    • @HandyDan
      @HandyDan  Год назад

      I had H&R Sport lowering 0.7 ft, 1.25 rr, you can fit maybe 17x6 but the tires will have to be low profile and stay the same size as OEM. I used the tire calculator on tiresize.com, find the same diameter.
      But my car, I chopped it to fit wider wheels.

    Have you had any issues with this product? Thanks.

    • @HandyDan
      @HandyDan  Год назад

      No issues, they are very strong, adjustable and have locking nuts.
      I do know the company has changed the product and might be harder to find.
      If you're car drives straight, you probably won't need them, but I found mine drifted to the right even with the front aligned.

    Hows the AC work in the summer?

    • @HandyDan
      @HandyDan  3 года назад

      The AC is awesome and it does use about 1 mile per 5 miles of driving meaning if you drove 50 miles it takes 10 off your range.

    • @HandyDan
      @HandyDan  3 года назад

      But this car works well for me, 18 miles to work, so 36 round trip. Always have 25 miles remaining or about 17 if I use AC
