I like to think that this song is about a holy paladin that he was given a quest to free a city from the undead but after a defeat he starts to lose his mind as he turns into an undead and this is his last memories and the latin part is his last plead to save his soul from eternal damnation

Everything is perfect. Except one thing. It ends at 4:20. I’m thinking of learning Latin because it’s such a beautiful language. And it’s just...I don’t know...emotional I guess. The iron clad paladin was down, attempting to reach for his sword, he heard his princess singing, crying for his help as he tried to get up *Must...help...the...p-princess...* Then everything went black. He woke up about a day later, at least by his reckoning, he got his sword and used it as a support to walk. Wincing in pain he went to look for the princess. Although he found many bodies, most of them skeletons, it took him a few hours to find his princess. However, all he found was a pile of royal clothes, a skeleton in them. He noticed that there was no more flesh on it, yet like all the other skeletons he'd seen here, no animal would come near them. He noticed that the skeleton of his princess was holding an eerily looking skull. Everything he'd ever known was telling him to run, something was wrong here. Yet, he had to find out what happened to the princess he had sworn to protect. As he picked up the skull, he suddenly remembers what his princess had been singing: *I'm scared, of what's inside my head, of what's inside my soul...* suddenly he opens his eyes, its nighttime now, he finds he had been clutching the skull close to his chest. He hears his king nearby, searching for him. His king! He had to warn him. There was dark magic at place here. He tries to get up and run to his king but, he finds he is staying in the same position. *I feel like I'm running, but getting nowhere.* He tries to call out for his king, but nothing comes out. *Fear, suffocating me, I can't breathe* In fact, the more he struggled the more he was constricted in place. His white marks on his helmet, showing his devotion to the gods, were fading to red. *White light fades to red.* He remembered how this place was called 'The City of the Dead'. He had always wondered why, now he was about to find out. *As I enter the City of the Dead* His king! He was getting nearer! Maybe he could help! *Rex tremendae maiestatis Qui salvandos salvas gratis, Salva me, fons pietatis* Then the skull glowed and he tried to drop it, however it made him clutch it tighter and something started to travel through his body. *I feel, it burning through my veins* His muscles start to twitch, then spasm. *It's driving me insane, the fever is rising, I'm going under.* His head started to spin, what was he doing here again? What was his purpose? Who was he? *Memories flash before my head, I'm losing time* He felt whatever traveled through his body start to eat away at him *The poison is killing me, taking over* He took off his helmet and glanced at it, the white cloth now fully red as blood *White light fades to red, as I enter the City of the Dead* The king! He had- to warn- the KING! *Rex tremendae majestatis qui salvandos salvas gratis salve me, fons pietatis salve me, fons pietatis quantus tremor est futurus quando judex est venmmturus quantus tremor est futurus quando judex est venmmturus damnata, invisus ubique ab omnibus, ad infinitum* Something I wrote for fun and at the spur of a moment, sorry if I made a mistake or its bad

I feel like this is a tribute to all her fallen comrades. The fate of those who fall in battle is harsh but is it worse for those who have to live on with no one and nothing? A part of us always stays behind with every dear friend, pet, or relative we lose.
Latin: Rex tremendae majestatis Qui salvandos salvas gratis Salve me, Fons Pietatis Salve me, Fons Pietatis Quantus tremor est futurus Quando Judex est venturus Quantus tremor est futurus Quando Judex est venturus Damnata, invisus ubique Ab omnibus, ad infinitum English: His Majesty of the dreaded day of Judgement Who gives freely the waters of life I greet you, O font of pity I greet you, O font of kindness How uncertain is the future When the Judge arrives How uncertain is the future When the Judge arrives Condemned, shunned everywhere by everyone, forever Adding this since someone else's got buried.
The Latin feels like to me a Demon or a dark monster, gets banished. Im pretty sure the Latin has a positiv meaning. My Italian dad told me once that the word "gratis " always has a positive meaning Salve me = save me futurus= future Judex = Judge, probably has something in common with judiciary(justice) Invisus= similar like the Italian word inivisibele, english: invisible infinitum= Infinity

SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SO SOOOOOOOOO MIND CONQUERING !!! I HAD TO PAUSE IT TWICE ,MY HEART COULD NOT TAKE IT ALL AT ONCE !!! LOVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!
This reminds me so much of the vibe of how the Dark and the Abyss from Dark Souls are described. A dark, calm place that brings comfort, even if it’s in death.
I like to think that the latin is what the character remembers from their time in the militairy. and the english is them literally losing their mind while slowly dying. its like they see their life flash before their eyes while singing a latin chant they used in their unit before everyone got slaughtered and finally its their turn to leave the space of the living and be with them once again.
Is it just me or does this song just like sort of brings this emotion that makes you wanna hear it over and over again, I clicked the wrong song and was searching for the right song but then I just stayed and listened to this like 5 more times
For the people that wants to know from where the latin (words not in English) comes from, it's from the poem Dies irae (the Day of Wrath). According to Wikipedia it's a poem normally used in the Requiem nowadays. This song being called "City of the Dead" makes fitting use of the poem current usage.
When the latin kicks in, my mood goes from "Lol I love nightcore" to:
*lord, lend me your powers to rebuild your kingdom*
I like to joke that if you say something in Latin, no matter what, it makes it "official".

Salva-me, fonte de piedade
Salva-me, fonte de piedade" Arrepiada com essa música...
At first I didn't like the song and I was about to change it... Then it started to play some Latin and the adrenaline just started to flow through me. Great song. Love it ❤️❤️❤️

ME!!!!!!
@midgetydeath this is my new yearbook quote
for me, this song shows how the last seconds feels before death. You can feel how the life is draining slowly outta yourself. this pure feeling of all what happened.
" quam sancta, quam serena, quam benigna, quam amoena, o castitatis lillium. " this abo is for your great work of sharing this song.
There’s something incredibly enchanting about the chorus.
I LOVE THIS! 😍
this is so beautiful my heart will never let me leave this song 😍
beautiful job!!
I love the fact that I have memorized the Latin lines in this and will randomly sing it. It's fun to see some people look at you in respect and others in wonder/worry of what your saying
I found this sing a couple days agi and can't stoo listening to it everyday at night. The Latin lyrics are stuck in my head since the first time I listened to it and it inspired me to give anination another try (I'm animating its chorus) the song is just so majestic I can't-
~~~~~Polskie tłumaczenie~~~~
Boję się tego, co jest w mojej głowie
co jest w mojej duszy
Czuję się, jakbym biegł
ale nigdzie się nie dostał
Strach mnie dusi
Nie mogę oddychać
Czuję się, jakbym tonął
Tonął coraz głębiej
Białe światło zanika w czerwień, gdy wkraczam do miasta umarłych
Królu straszny w swej wielkości,
Co świat zbawiasz mimo złości,
Zbaw mnie, Zdroju łaskawości!
Zbaw mnie, Zdroju łaskawości!*
Czuję palenie w moich żyłach
To doprowadza mnie do szaleństwa,
gorączka rośnie,
Zapadam się
wspomnienia migają przed moimi oczami,
Tracę czas,
trucizna zabija mnie, przejmuje
Białe światło zanika** w czerwień, gdy wkraczam do miasta umarłych
Królu straszny w swej wielkości,
Co świat zbawiasz mimo złości,
Zbaw mnie, Zdroju łaskawości!
Zbaw mnie, Zdroju łaskawości!*
O, jak wielka będzie trwoga
Gdy przed ścisłym sądem Boga stanie.
O, jak wielka będzie trwoga
Gdy przed ścisłym sądem Boga stanie.*
Przeklęty, znienawidzony, wszędzie,
przez wszystkich, na zawsze.
Królu straszny w swej wielkości,
Co świat zbawiasz mimo złości,
Zbaw mnie, Zdroju łaskawości!
Zbaw mnie, Zdroju łaskawości!*
Dzięki wielkie za tłumaczenie
I love this! It should have so many more views!
Aww ^-^
I feel like this is a tribute to all her fallen comrades. The fate of those who fall in battle is harsh but is it worse for those who have to live on with no one and nothing? A part of us always stays behind with every dear friend, pet, or relative we lose.
2024 anyone?
Me
Me!❤
It is indeed current year
Latin:
Rex tremendae majestatis
Qui salvandos salvas gratis
Salve me, Fons Pietatis
Salve me, Fons Pietatis
Quantus tremor est futurus
Quando Judex est venturus
Quantus tremor est futurus
Quando Judex est venturus
Damnata, invisus ubique
Ab omnibus, ad infinitum
English:
His Majesty of the dreaded day of Judgement
Who gives freely the waters of life
I greet you, O font of pity
I greet you, O font of kindness
How uncertain is the future
When the Judge arrives
How uncertain is the future
When the Judge arrives
Condemned, shunned everywhere
by everyone, forever
Adding this since someone else's got buried.
Thanks
Thankss
Google translate says something completely different
That is so google translate
The Latin feels like to me a Demon or a dark monster, gets banished.
Im pretty sure the Latin has a positiv meaning.
My Italian dad told me once that the word "gratis " always has a positive meaning
Salve me = save me
futurus= future
Judex = Judge, probably has something in common with judiciary(justice)
Invisus= similar like the Italian word inivisibele, english: invisible
infinitum= Infinity
Great song but I prefer the original version because it's more calming , slower and I guess peaceful
(Removed my translation as there are now much better ones, go look at call me gir!)
Thank you so much Tiia, i should have thanked you sooner for the amazing song keep it up!!!
Christian Tutlewski thanks for this
Thanks :D
Thanks you
Christian Tutlewski thx but what Lang is it
Now I'd like a bass rendition
Objetivo: Hacer mis tareas, mientras escucho música.
Obstáculo: Escuchar esta canción 37829468 veces, he imaginar escenarios brutales en mi mente. :"D
What a beautiful song! For anyone wondering, it's based on a latin poem called Dies Irae
Beautiful melody
I was so blown as to how epic-ly latin was infused into nightcore. Props, props!!!
I love this video CC. Thank you for the way you did this. I have watched this version over 1200 times in about 5 years. I love how you put Latin up so if one understands Latin vowels they can sing along even if they don't understand Latin!
I try to sing this but I can't hit those *NOTES*
Hey! You hearted my comment Lady Tiia. I'mma sub. Just because.
@@barbaraheinich4201 i succeed ONE time!
I sing those notes all the time, I'm in chior and the highest voice part, these notes are nice to have.
Is that hard to sing this high? I mean... For me it's natural and I go this high literally all the time xD
its a lot easier un-nightcored XD
I don't know how many times a day I listen this song. I LOVE IT SO MUCH
I feel 11 years old again thanks to the nostalgia.
I can’t wait to here the slowed version because this one is awesome so think of how good the slowed one will be
It is the most emotional song I have ever heard. I can't stop to push the replay button. Please help me! :)
Love the song
I have to say, this is one of my favourite songs. Though i only listen to the nightcore version.
I can listen to this for hours
EDIT:Lady Tiia thank you for
I love that the chorus is a different language it makes it extra cool
Not a clue what is being said and I love it.
Selim Tuncel it's Latin. You can translate it
I know there are already people who explained what those words meant, but i wanna say it again just for you. (Its a very free translation tho, i wanna express what i think sounds right)
Oh you king who art the highest and most gracful,
who saves those who are destinied out of graciousness,
Save me, oh fountain of faith,
Save me, fountin of faith (×2)
(Rex tremendae majestatis,
Qui salvandos salvis gratis,
Salve me fons pietatis,
Salve me fons pietatis)
Everything will be in uproar,
when the judge will descend from the heavens (2×)
The cursed one, who will be hated everywhere and by everyone, until time ends
(Quantus tremor est futurus
Quando judex est venturus
Damnata, invisus ubique, ab omnibus, ad infinitum)
I hope I could be of help
I have added this to my main playlist. Its an excellent song. :)
Nice video impressed in first look
And subbed
I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING FOR THIS FOR HOURS.
This reminds me so much of the vibe of how the Dark and the Abyss from Dark Souls are described. A dark, calm place that brings comfort, even if it’s in death.
Absolutely amazing!
3:40ish is breath taking.
It's the most beautiful song I've ever heard ❤️
You mean to use this emoji:💔
The picture and the title reminds me of a game called hollow knight and the tune of the song is AMAZING. Great job
I'm terribly late, but my dear little TIIA, what amazing work you have done
thank you, and hope to see you soon
It's been awhile since I've found a song this calm and relaxing
I like to think that the latin is what the character remembers from their time in the militairy. and the english is them literally losing their mind while slowly dying. its like they see their life flash before their eyes while singing a latin chant they used in their unit before everyone got slaughtered and finally its their turn to leave the space of the living and be with them once again.
I don't have words to describe how amazing the song is😍
Is it just me or does this song just like sort of brings this emotion that makes you wanna hear it over and over again, I clicked the wrong song and was searching for the right song but then I just stayed and listened to this like 5 more times
For the people that wants to know from where the latin (words not in English) comes from, it's from the poem Dies irae (the Day of Wrath). According to Wikipedia it's a poem normally used in the Requiem nowadays. This song being called "City of the Dead" makes fitting use of the poem current usage.
