    One of the best fishing lures DIY videos i have ever seen! Really impressive taking the time and commitment to make it. A work of art none the less and a pretty kick ass lure if you ask me, this would kill it in deep sea salt water fishing by the way it looks! Thumbs up to you my friend! 👍🏼

    Hello FishingInstict... I do my own spoonflies from knives as well... where did you buy that hologram transfer foil??? I am looking for it since very long time ago, but I have not yet the chance to find it. What I got from Amazon were small transfer foils used for girls nails (many colours and designs) but what I need is the silver one that you are using. I want it for my wooden lures and my lures restoration works...
    Would you please tell my where to buy that silver roll?? thank you in advanced, Antonio

      antonio999us Antonio, you can also use cheap gift bags that have a reflective/holographic finish. You just need to soak the cut up bag in water to release the holographic film from the paper backing! Very inexpensive that way.

    Cool video. Search youtube for foiling crankbaits. You will find a technique to add scales and multiply the lights output from the flash foil. All you need is a piece of pet store fish netting from those cheap green scoop nets and you can massage the flash over it to add true 3d scales.

      it's a surf lure for where I live, I usually catch red snappers, drum, snook, lady fish and sometimes pompano. I saw it a while ago from another fisherman , so I had to try it and it's amazing it casts like a rocket, and it's very fun.

    I'm just wondering why you covered a silver knife with silver 'tape' and then covered that with the holographic 'tape'.

    • @LucioYChristinasCookingShow
      @LucioYChristinasCookingShow  7 лет назад +8

      Jarrod H one thing I love about making lures is that you don't need to follow anything specific when making them, and the aluminum tape allows for the holograph to adhere to the polished metal surface, in Florida a lot of fish won't just follow a plain silver lure, the added color differences allow for it to reflect light in deeper water column where certain colors are no longer visible.

    • @jarrod9234
      @jarrod9234 7 лет назад +3

      Thank for that. I understand the extra attraction, but I just wasn't aware of the extra adhesion that the aluminium tape allows for. It's a good looking lure by the way.

If you have any more questions I'll be happy to answer.

      Depends on the goal i suppose. Are you you looking for simple and cheap spoon replacements? Then yes, it is too much work IMO. But if you are trying to make an AMAZING piece of art lure that would run 10 to 30 dollars then this is actually quite reasonable.

      Meh. If your heart AND soul is into fishing, if it's been thought from a small kid - thinking about native traditions - and you have enough free time (no partner, no kids)... I'd say 'why not'. Some people love to make their own lures - think about fly fishing by the way - and some people just like to take it the easy way and go buy their pre-made lures.
