OMG! I’m 57 years old. I will buy something if I want it, not because a RUclipsr told me to buy it. I don’t have a big makeup stash and I rarely buy anything, but I love makeup so I love watching RUclips makeup videos.
Menopause is the worst! I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. 😩
We're not supposed to "keep up". We've already done what they are doing as "new". At this phase, we get to say "been there , done that , THIS IS WHAT I LIKE, the rest can take a hike"!!!😂
Funny that you talk about menopause. I’ve been having such an emotional day over this. I’m 52, my periods have been erratic for a year, I’ve had back cramps for 2 weeks that feel like labor pains and I never know when and if I will get my period. I just wish there was a switch on our bodies that we can turn off when we are done having kids. This wreaks havoc on our lives….mentally & physically!!! That’s so sad about your Mom. I can’t imagine. Congrats to your daughter. I have a chronic illness so I understand. The Idaho murder story is just horrible. Those poor kids 😢.
I have been in menopause for 6 years and STILL have hot flashes all day and all night AND I am taking HRT. 😳

menopause anxiety is out of control - i already had anxiety but going thru menopause has intensified it :( i get it - also the BRAIN fog - so forgetful
Oh the joys of menopause 😫😳. I had a hysterectomy in my early 40’s so went through menopause early and uuugghhh!! I fought getting any kind of HRT’s for over 2 years. I tried every natural remedy out there because I was determined to not go on any medication. For me it was the hot flashes - I was having them ALL day long- like every 30-40 min. And my emotions 😬🙈. My poor husband didn’t know what to do with me and we had just gotten married. I finally caved and went back to my dr and got on Estrogel - jelly like lotion. I put one pump on each arm every night and it has been a miracle. My husband could have kissed my dr lol. It literally changed my life. I still deal with issues but they are much more manageable. I do yoga every single day and try to eat well and stay active but man oh man it’s been a journey!

Love your "chunky loafers" story. Lol! This was me with the announcement a few years ago that skinny jeans were out. My attitude is you can pry them out of my cold dead hands! 😄 For me perimenopause started in my mid-40's with the onset of insomnia and my cycles became unbearable. I still suffer with insomnia but I've learned to stop fighting it which just makes it last longer, as in days or weeks. 😴
Oh no..I feel so bad for Emma dealing with the loss of her classmates at school. How awful. Her living at home is probably a good thing for emotional support among other things.

I love your content. My deepest sympathies to you and your daughter. It's such a scary feeling when it hits that close to home. I was living in a dorm in Charleston Sc when Ted Bundy killed the girls at FSU. It's scary because you don't know who did for a time. Glad she is home safe and sound.

This is far from a rant…..I like to think of it as cake talk. Everything you touched on is so relatable, like we’re having cake and cawfee at the kitchen table. My mom, bless her soul, always had someone over “back in the day” talking it up in the kitchen.

I have been seeing a homeopathic MD for hormones because Kaiser wouldn't help me. We have since switched insurance- and my new provider yesterday did renew my prescriptions. I am hoping she can help with hormones. I hear you are on Estrogen and Progesterone. Are you taking Estrogen because your periods have been over for awhile? I haven't had one since Sept '22. I hope my next visit I can find out more about Estrogen-since I thought you had to be "period-free" for at least a year to be in menopause.

I wouldn’t buy a fraction of what gets pushed. I lasted two days with Flip, what nonsense. If I’m curious about a certain cosmetic, I look it up here to see how it looks on someone. But I think beauty products are terribly overpriced. I never spend over $15 on any one thing and I have every nice thing I need.
