I was a Hindu but because of the Power of the Rosary and our dear Mother Mary, I came to know about Jesus and the Catholic faith. I have received so many signal graces and blessings because of the Rosary. When I failed to say the Rosary, I have fallen into sin. As St. Padre Pio says the 'Rosary is our weapon’. I started saying the Rosary about 6 month ago ,, and now I understand when the devil is trying to distract me especially when saying the Rosary ,, does anybody else have that happen ? Impurity is all around us ,, T.V. MOVIES,, COMMERCIALS ,, AND THE devil seems to be most active with that kind of distraction . By saying the Rosary we can kick the devil in the teeth & I hope to do it the rest of my life !

I prayed the rosary for some time and was given grace to overcome sin. I was very happy. I then sinned and was too ashamed then to pray it anymore.
Time passed, and I picked it up again. Something fell off a shelf in the house and other people started to yell, “What happened back there?” But I just kept on praying. Once I start, I don’t stop.
It certainly does seem to antagonize entities. I am fairly certain that the utterances made are irritating to some “entities” (for lack of better words).
The Apostles Creed alone, think of it. You are DROPPING THE HAMMER! It’s like you are verbalizing ultimate truth. The Apostles Creed is STRONG! And that’s just the beginning!
And to think! This WONDERFUL GIFT is available to all, even common sinners like me!

I've just become Catholic from being Protestant, I'm slowly trying to grasp the meaning of Mary.
So much I get intellectually (I fully affirm all Marian dogma), but I still need to understand it by heart.
It still feels very distant praying the rosary, could you please pray for me and ask for intercession that I may fully understand the things with my heart?

@@sotem3608 I recommend you an excellent book called The glories of Mary (Saint Alphonse of Liguori). I promise you will understand everything about the Mother of God. It's impossible to not love Her when you read this book.

I didn't know nothing about Mary, God, the Rosary... I have read that book in Spanish. You need to find an old version because the modern ones are incomplete. I have found a pdf old version in English. You can google: Internet archive. The glories of Mary. I hope it's a good one. I suggest you to pray only the traditional Rosary. It will change your live. Indeed, our family have been praying the rosary since, the greatest gift of reciting it, every death that comes in our family is very peaceful. Our Lady is ever present at the deaths in our family. God is great! Pray the rosary lovingly, you will never go wrong.

I pray 5 decades of the rosary, but instead of meditating on the mysteries, I read a few verses from the gospels before each decade and meditate on that. Starting with Matthew, chapter 1, verse 1, I'll go straight through to John, chapter 21, verse 23.

There are some for example so called higher places of learning in western world cities where if you as a student venture there with your rosary still in your pocket end up slipping on the ice with your rosary ending up then falling out of your pocket with other students around to see it what will happen on that campus later as all of the ripples spread out from that serendipity situation later in so many ways that poor soul hanging onto a real concrete rosary a lot will become ostracized by all there still in athourity. And so my advice to other Roman Catholics is to learn how to say the rosary on your hands and fingers instead to yourself wherever you need to in order to get help so you can get out of the kind of cognitive dissonance that so many people are experiencing too in our way too many technological advanced machines around us here in our present day world.
When he refers to the Rosary is meaning the complete 15-20 decade one or the 5 decade one?
Basically 5 decades
Fr. likely means 5 decades, but with all respect to him and those great Catholics who do 5, if you do any research you will see that 15 decades is the full rosary that Our Lady asked for at Fatima. 5 is considered equivalent to 15 for catechumens, kids, and beginners in faith, I started with 5, but once you have the habit down you should absolutely aim for 15. You would not believe me if I told you the miracles I have seen with my own eyes worked so quickly by 15.
Where is the priest?
So it's a meditation, then? I say it almost every day but it's gotten pretty much purely recitative. Pictures (of the mysteries) don't really help as much anymore (although I still say it) and my mind tends to wander. Is it necessary that one learns how to meditate in order to do it well? What are the best ways, times, conditions, etc to make your rosaries most efficacious?
I'm 30 and still single so I guess I should be honest: how many rosaries should I say before I meet my future spouse? 😅...😢
Until God wills it. God always answers prayer, but in his own time, also sometimes the answer is No
Meditation is supremely important, but God NEVER just says "no" to your prayers -- if he doesn't grant it, it's because he's got something better! Trust this fact; your mind is wired for distrust in God, imagining he's not listening, but he listens to every single prayer so keep telling yourself this. Always, always keep telling yourself: he grants your petition or gives you something even better. (but always in his time, rarely yours)

I had the same problem, I had to start fasting before reciting it. Fast for 24hrs and say it.
You should try to use different pamphlets/books to meditate on it once you find meditation is too repetitive for you. It’ll help you grow
Are the promises of the rosary in regards to saying one daily mystery or saying all 3 mysteries daily? Also do you gain the promises with the Luminous mystery?
Just 1 set of 5 mysteries. You’re still saying the prayers and meditating on Our Lords life. I’m just one to stick with the original 15.

Luminous are Godsends - think, at this time, we get mysteries reaffirming what our culture has discarded. 1) importance of baptism, which even most Catholics now think is unnecessary for salvation, 2) wedding at Cana, as sanctity of marriage is destroyed through divorce and homosexual unions, 3) proclamation of kingdom, entailing danger of hell if we don't repent, of which we've never been more sorely in need, 4) transfiguration, Jesus's glory dropping the apostles to their knees in fear, relevant as modern society views Jesus as a friendly hippie-like dude whom you need not fear, 5) institution of Eucharist, at a time when, again, most Catholics disbelieve in the Real Presence, and all others laugh at it. I say the Luminous Mysteries with great pride. Remember, as Bible says (reiterated by Fr. Ripperger), what you don't ask for in prayer, you won't get!
