George, you rock. Thanks for doing this for everyone. I am deployed to Iraq right now and have found a treasure trove of great chants to learn right off my iphone. Thank you and God Bless!
"Father, if it be your will, take this cup from my hands, but it is your will, not mine." These are the words of our Divine Savior Jesus which echo in my mind and heart when I hear this magnificent Holy Thursday chant!
WHERE charity and love are, God is there. Christ's love has gathered us into one. Let us rejoice and be pleased in Him. Let us fear, and let us love the living God. And may we love each other with a sincere heart. WHERE charity and love are, God is there. As we are gathered into one body, Beware, lest we be divided in mind. Let evil impulses stop, let controversy cease, And may Christ our God be in our midst. WHERE charity and love are, God is there. And may we with the saints also, See Thy face in glory, O Christ our God: The joy that is immense and good, Unto the ages through infinite ages. Amen.
I just love this so much! YES - where charity and love are, God is there. Love of Christ has gathered us into one. Let us rejoice in Him and be glad. Amen
Bellissmo! I thank God every day for the grace of having being born into a Catholic family that remained Catholic even after V atican ll. Along with the love for the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, the Sacraments and Sacramentals there is also appreciation for Gregorian chants which add to making thethe Latin liturgy of the One Holy Catholic Apostolic Church totally unique.
@@Izabeli39 The way Latin grammar works, it's "where there is true charity, God is there." Arguably caritas and amor are synonyms. In fact the Benedictines of Solesmes originally provided the "et amor" at the beginning of the 20th century, but a few decades later they decided that "est vera" was the earlier/more authentic version and have since published that. I like "et amor" myself.
¡Inaudito! Canto gregoriano en loor de Cristo, con propaganda de un crucero gay. ¿? Stephan George, ¿eres católico? ¿ eres sacerdote? un poco de honestidad, por favor.

The correct line is "where love is true, there is God" (ubi caritas est vera Deus ibi est)
I just love this so much! YES - where charity and love are, God is there.
Love of Christ has gathered us into one.
Let us rejoice in Him and be glad. Amen
Thank you very much. It is incredibly beautiful and musically perfect.
thanks for posting this magnificent work
The solo vocals are amazing. Almost like he's naturally auto-tuning his voice!
this is almost too beautiful to listen to.
Behold the silent power of the praise of God.
Thank you

Onde o amor é verdadeiro, Deus aí está.
Fabulously chanted. felt gracious to listen to.
Beautiful!
Thanks. Going to have to wash feet in quarantine this year.So thanks for the chant
great, beatiful, divine work. A question: they don't seem to sing the words "et amor", but other words. Do you know what do they sing? Thank you
+juan casasbellas : Maybe ... "est vera" ....instead of "... et amor " .... (cf. Michel de Guibert up here)
It is "Ubi caritas est vera" which translates as "Where charity is true". This is found in earlier variations of the piece.
@@fukcboi6560 It is: Ubi caritas et amor, Deus ibi est - translate: Where there is charity and love (not true!), there Gos is.

I took Latin in public school. I once translated "Ubi filus nautae est?" as "Is Ubi the sailor's son?"
You should listen to Cathy Moklebust's version on handbells. Beautiful.
Why does the choir sing ubi caritas est vera, while the lyrics is ubi caritas et amor?
Are they singing "amor" in the refrain or something else?
Vere
