Totally agree And funny how it's only the word "king" that has this amount of power, I wonder if it was the point? Maybe they wanted to emphasize the power in the hands of the king?
This feels far more powerful than the album version . I love Robert's angry wasp-tone.The flute sounds like it wants to float into space. Great vocal too.
Was always slightly disappointed with the album version of this, now I know why, I heard this version first on a John Peel show ! 50 year old mystery solved. Knocked my socks off!!
Sounds like Greg on fuzz bass, as you can mostly hear Robert slashing the clean chords next to it. The sound is very similar to the fuzztone bass on ELP's "Barbarian", probably the one ELP piece where the Crimson influence is the most obvious.
The way they sang the "king" unlocked a whole new emotion in me
Totally agree

50 лет назад всё было лучше и надёжнее. Лучше и качественнее! Музыка, строения и, сами люди...
I love how Fripp throws in a bit of Matchstick Men heh. Set it on fire Bob! Astonishing.

John Peel - a LOT of people owe him a huge debt of gratitude for the stuff he played circa late 60's early 70's.
