From the writers perspective, mankind is in the hands of foolish leaders, and to an extent that's true, but however, i believe that the one who really has mankind's fate in His hands, is God, and God is not a fool
Masterpiece. The mellotron is otherworldly. Robert Fripp’s guitar tone is beautiful. Greg Lake never sounded better than with King Crimson. I like ELP yet the beautiful melodies King Crimson created with the organic wind instruments, otherworldly mellotron and the beautiful voice of Greg Lake along with Mr. Fripp’s stunning Gibson guitar tone is in a class of its own. What a combination of original and beautiful eclectic talent. There’s a good reason one of the titles given to this type of progressive rock is art rock. My favorite track from the ITCOTCK release.
Actually, new fans are being brought In by an anime called jojo's bizarre adventure, in this there are beings known as stands who in parts 4 and up are named after old music! There is a stand In jojo part 5 called epitaph and that is how I found this piece!
More than just the magnificent music, I remember when this album was released, I remember the culture and passion and the people which I knew. Friends, friends of friends, a girlfriend, her older sister, the people she hung with, those whom I looked up to and those whom I loved. These memories are palpable and warm like Greg Lake's voice, from the opening notes of Epitaph, they wash over me like the swell of Ian McDonald's mellotron. Golden moments!
This is by far the best version of Epitaph. What an amazing album.Greg lake live was a treat I was able to see 8 years later(1977) and they played the entire song . It was the ' works tour' one of the last dates with the 76 PC backing brass, woodwinds, drums and singers. A 3 hour plus concert. I would have loved to see the Hyde Park concert with the original King Crimson. I miss progressive rock . This is just breathtakingly beautiful 😊
After following music for more than four decades I can wholeheartedly say that Epitaph is Beetoven's 9th symphony of modern music. There are very few songs and musical compositions that touch the fibers of your soul. This one for sure is one of them.
Lyrics: The wall on which the prophets wrote Is cracking at the seams Upon the instruments of death The sunlight brightly gleams When every man is torn apart With nightmares and with dreams Will no one lay the laurel wreath When silence drowns the screams Confusion will be my epitaph As I crawl, a cracked and broken path If we make it, we can all sit back and laugh But I fear tomorrow I'll be crying Yes, I fear tomorrow I'll be crying Yes, I fear tomorrow I'll be crying Between the iron gates of fate The seeds of time were sown And watered by the deeds of those Who know and who are known Knowledge is a deadly friend When no one sets the rules The fate of all mankind I fear Is in the hands of fools The wall on which the prophets wrote Is cracking at the seams Upon the instruments of death The sunlight brightly gleams When every man is torn apart With nightmares and with dreams Will no one lay the laurel wreath When silence drowns the screams Confusion will be my epitaph As I crawl, a cracked and broken path And if we make it, we can all sit back and laugh But I fear tomorrow I'll be crying Yes, I fear tomorrow I'll be crying Yes, I fear tomorrow I'll be crying Crying! Crying! Yes, I fear tomorrow I'll be crying Yes, I fear tomorrow I'll be crying Yes, I fear tomorrow I'll be crying
Toujours avec autant d'émotions, de calmes, de parts de reves, de douceurs, de féeries Comment ne pas se laisser transporter quelques minutes, une heure, une éternité Une des plus belles plages musicales du monde Une voix magnifique, une musique stratosphérique
The wall on which the prophets wrote Is cracking at the seams. Upon the instruments of death The sunlight brightly gleams. When every man is torn apart With nightmares and with dreams, Will no one lay the laurel wreath As silence drowns the screams. Between the iron gates of fate, The seeds of time were sown, And watered by the deeds of those Who know and who are known; Knowledge is a deadly friend When no one sets the rules. The fate of all mankind I see Is in the hands of fools. Confusion will be my epitaph. As I crawl a cracked and broken path If we make it we can all sit back And laugh. But I fear tomorrow I'll be crying, Yes I fear tomorrow I'll be crying
De ahí repartieron para inspirarse de lo más bello de las notas musicales, tomaron lo mejor de todo y armaron esta belleza que hoy en pleno 2022 nadie creería que es de los 60s....!
@@plebulus I don't mind them, to me it is a sign that the music of this sublime and wonderful band will never die while Araki's influence is felt and a lot of Jo Jo fans have commented on his exquisite taste in music that brought them to appreciate the wider canon of the KC discography
Am I the only one that prefers this version to the most popular one? I mean, in the most popular it's very difficult to hear the voice of the singer whereas in this one it's much clearer. That's why I listen only to this version.
One of the most beautiful songs ever written. 52 years of listening this masterpiece still evokes emotions in me that I can't explain.
im 51 and only just heard it for the first time, and I adore it , suits that year and half down to a T ..
Ya te digo desde bilbao
Of course it is!You can listen and never get bored.
I remember when I first heard this, at 15.
I am 60 now.
I remember the lyrics perfectly.
When the new generation listen to a song which is 52 years old and they love it then you know real music never dies.
51 years old heard for the first time today , I cant say anything that hasn't been said bar I adore this track :D
King Crimson is really good fr
Listened to roundabout and fuckin loved it to bits
I just discovered them at age 72. I feel I have been cheated for the last 55 years.
I am a 30 year old metal head & it took me the last 3 hours finding this song because I heard part of it in a documentary about Mayhem.
One of the most beautiful melodies of K.C.
*world has ever heard
"The fate of all mankind, I see is in the hands of fools." is a truth unchangeable.
Prophetic it seems.
So very apt in todays troubled world .
From the writers perspective, mankind is in the hands of foolish leaders, and to an extent that's true, but however, i believe that the one who really has mankind's fate in His hands, is God, and God is not a fool
It is. It was in the time this song was written, it still is. Unfortunately l’histoire se répète…
Beautiful! Greg Lake had the best voice in rock.
Happy Birthday Greg
i am ok with you
Great Greg Lake
The best!!
Greg's voice!! Heaven
The first thing I did after my dad's funeral i got home and listened to this Beautiful piece of music 😌 Rip dad
Listen to ELP's Oh My Father. It is an amazing song Lake wrote when his father passed. One of ELP's hidden gems.
God bless your father 🙏
@@EEvanCh thank you
@@myrrhfishify7743 He wrote it before his dad died.

Hauntingly beautiful
