You are the queen of the Taiwan swirls, I never see anyone do them as well as you
I like the flat stick for sure. Lovely soap!!
Thank you Terrie! The flat stick one is well loved for sure. I tried one next with a Popsicle stick which is about twice as wide. It really like the results of that too. I will post it soon! Have a great day! 💖✨
@@TreeMarieSoapworks I used to use these on facial waxing when I was a beauty therapist, might work out cheaper to ebay wax sticks :) they kind of look like coffee sticks. Hope that helps :)
@@dragonslife3917 Thank you!
Thank you for watching! 💕🌳

Another beautiful soap and video. I’ll be honest, I’m never gonna make soap but I sure like watching other people do it! 😂
Thank you Kim. That's okay. 💖 You may decide you want to try it some day. I researched soap making 15 years before I made my first batch. I even got all the supplies but I was scared to try it. The time was't right for it in my life. When I took it back up, I immersed myself in it. I used to quilt for my artistic outlet. I dropped that so quick when I started making soap and never looked back. I love it! 😊💖✨
Kim Shea :I thought so too...a lady from church gave me my first hot process lesson and I still waited now I love it. I don’t do cold process yet I love hot process
Awesome Tree Marie Soapworks ! learning so much from your channel!
I love watching you mix the colors with the palette knife. It’s so pleasing to the eye.
Thank you! 😊
Yay you cut it! 🧡 that's the best bit! Thank you for sharing your talent I love your voice it is so soothing and calming I come to you when i have anxiety :)
Thank you for this video. I really appreciate your detail. I prefer the left side with more drag.
Thank you so much! 💝 The left side it the clear winner! 😊
Beautiful!! I like the left side both are very pretty thank you for sharing your creation.
Thank you very much. The left side definitely won hands down! You are very welcome! 💖
Lovely soaps, lovely video’s, music, and your voice is so soothing. The flat stick! We always use a chop stick, but will definitely try a wider stick next time. Thank you for sharing,
Four Wings Soap
Thank you so much! I will be trying a tongue depressor next time. I am excited to see how that will come out. You're very welcome! 💖✨
What an amazing Taiwan swirl ... I have never attempted. I like that you compared the two tools. Amazing video
Thank you so much. It was a neat comparison. After this batch I used a Popsicle stick, which is wider yet. I will cut it tomorrow, if it comes out good it will show up as a tutorial on here sooner or later. You should try it! 😊
@@TreeMarieSoapworks Looking forward too
@@TreeMarieSoapworks you should try chopstick
These videos are extremely relaxing and informative
Thank you!
Compliments for your soaps and technics, you are super professional .... wonderful, thanks for sharing❣️💋
I like the left one better.
The left one for sure
Yep, the left one is the overwhelming winner!
I like the left one
I would like to watch a video on how to make your dividers.
I will have to get permission from my friend first, because she it the one how helped me. 😊
nice lighting and editing of the video, ad of course the soap is gorgeous!
Thank you so much Glenda! 💖

Hi,I am just few months old to soap making,I love your work so much and trying to do but my liquid trace so quickly that ...I am unable to handle
Is temp important while doing this ?
The recipe I tryed was high water
Lye 25%
Coconut oil 75grams
Oliveoil 175 grams
Superfat 5 grams
I worked in room temp.
Should I work on my receipt
Kindly help🙏
Hai,I love your soap making vedio. And this design is superb.
Flat stick
Loved your video! Thanks for sharing this great technique. You made it look super easy! What Lard do you recommend?
Hello, congratulations your job is amazing!! Hello, I have a question, why do you use the heating pad? ☺️
What’s superfat? And how to calculate it in a batch? Consequences of not calculating it?
-Thanks in advance.
Is there a correct way to store soap when it is made?
Yes, it needs so be kept open to air in a well ventilated area. I keep a fan running in the room. You can turn the soap every week or so to help it cure evenly. Let is dry for 4-6 weeks.
I will be trying this technique today...thanks so much for the video.
Never made soap before. How likely is it that I will be able to create this soap. I am guessing the set up costs will be considerable? L x
This is a more advanced technique. If you are really interested, you can research beginner cold process soap. Set up cost don't have to be a lot. 😊
Tree Marie Soapworks Thank you. Typical of me I want to make that one! Going to take your advice and start small!
I started making soap recently. I have made about 100 bars of soap, shampoo and shave soap. I have about $250 into it so far including the tools and supply's. You can find some stuff like molds and bowls etc at the thrift store. I found a bunch of silicone molds for cooking for 5 or 10 bucks. the most expensive things were the stick blender and my scale. its super fun and the soap is so much better than store bought. My wife asked me why i made so much and i said so no one on our block will have to buy soap for the next 10 years :)
David Collins thank you!
In one of your videos you said that you used 25% of water of oil weight. Do you manipulate the lye concentration on soap calc or will it automatically adjust. Thank you. Your really talented.
Thank you very much. Do you take your olive oil for mixing with colours from your batch olive oil? Thank you
Beautiful creation! May I ask why you mix you're colorants that way?
Thank you Cesiley! Great question! Using a palette knife is a good way to get the clumps out, especially oxides like the yellow & brown oxide and titanium dioxide used in this video. They are particularly difficult to disperse completely. I can't stick blend them in because stick blending causes acceleration; I need my batter to be at thin trace for this technique. So I would rather have them completely dispersed ahead of time.Hope this helps you! 💖✨🌸
Yes! Reaching emulsion! That's the proper use of words. Most use emulsification instead, which has a different meaning.
Thanks for this video ! Can you do an ombre tutorial please ? I always see on Instagram those Korean soap artist and their ombre are something 😄
You're very welcome! I'll put Ombre on the list. I've only tried it 2 times. That would be a pretty one. 💖
Pls what type of oil did you use.
Hello Mary, if you scroll down in the description, I list all the ingredients. 😊
Beautifull work.
But please tell me
Why do you use sodium loctite?
I mean what is it for!!!
Thanks wonderful soap
Please kindly send me the ingredients and measurements
Hi Teri. I made this soap today, I followed the tutorial perfectly, you’re amazing. I also followed your tutorial for the dividers. I had LOTS of fun. Thank you sharing and for being so perfect.😊
Thank is great! I am so glad you are having success! I am definitely not perfect. Thank you for letting me know how it's going! 😊
Tree Marie Soapworks I had both- the skewer and the popsicle stick- I went for the popsicle stick 😊
Thanks for this informative video, i was wondering if it is possible to use vegetable oil and dehydrate orange in this recipe
I love them both, but since I have to pick, I'm going with the skinny stick (left)
Thank you. On your Blog, water is 20% of oil. What is the right?
Stunning! Thank you for sharing this great video. Your soap packaging is wonderful too. Would love to see how you print on the boxes 😊
Thank you! The boxes are so much work, I had to buy a special printer to print that heavy cardstock. Maybe I can make a short video on to show the process. I think most people would think I am nuts to do it this way. 😁

this is amazing! i love the divider, i was really curious when i clicked on the video how the design came out so cleanly
Thank you so much! Check back, I have another on with a divider that I am posting soon! 💖
I love the flat stick
Me too! It's the definite favorite! 😊
Being more of an electronics guy, especially consistent temperature solutions, I wonder if there is some sort of "magical temperature" through the gelling phase? If so, an insulated box that opens if too hot and closes again when cooled down should be perfect. Like a greenhouse automatic window thing. Just some thoughts as I get into soaping and I use all your videos for what equipment I need to get started. Phew, long comment, but thank you so much for sharing all your knowledge!
I wish I knew the magical temperature. 😊 Wow, your really have a good idea. Good luck with your soaping!
Ha! Right when you said we could ask you for something we don't know how to do just ask I literally thought of how to use a soap calculator. I am new to soap making I have been researching a bunch on soap making but what I don't find is how to make a recipe with a soap calculator. There actually were a few but not detailed. That would be great if you could do a tutorial on using a soap calculator. Thanks in advance!
Perfect! It is on my list now. 😊
Beautiful, thanks for your video
Do you spray your soap with 99% alcohol on the surface for the last step?
Beautiful colors. Loved to see your technique. Thanks from a new soap maker🙂 Also would love to learn about soap calc.
Thank you Kimberly! Great to hear! I am planning on the soap calc tutorial. Welcome! 💖
@@TreeMarieSoapworks yes! thank you! i've always been so confused by soap calculations and its been my biggest mental hurdle in the process
im planning to get soap supplies this summer and use a recipe but i know its important to understand how the ingredients and ratios will impact the soap
Keep learning! Ask questions. I hope to make the soap calc video soon. 🌸💕
Really beautiful! I like the one on the left better.
Thank you Rhonda! Wow! Everyone has liked that one better! 💖
I would like you put all ingredients has used, where buy it? Please

@@TreeMarieSoapworks Thanks! I just saw it!
I like the left one, flat stick. But Great Video.
Can you mix soap and pour with a cold process pour?
Lovely; where do you get your pitchers?
So lovely! What could I sub for lard?
I am sure the flat stick has beat out the skewer. The colors stay more defined and vibrant. I use a glass rod that is thick, but was thinking of getting a bamboo flat stick. Now I know I will. Thanks for sharing ☺
That's funny Cheryl, I ordered glassrods and just got them yesterday. I wanted to used them like Estuko Wantanabe. Maybe sticks would better because of the drag though. 😊
Oh is the technique named as my home country? XD
Left...like👍👍👍
Thank you!
Flat stick for me. I love oxides but the first time I used it in my soap, the colors were running down into the white layers when it was wet and it was just ugly. Maybe I used too much oxides? I love looking at your photos on instagram and I am so glad you are now making more videos. Thank you for this tutorial and looking forward to more in the future.
PS. I would love to see you make secret feather/flower swirl.
Yep, the stick is definitely the winner. It was probably too much oxides. Though these colors were lighter, they were only used at .18 tsp PPO and .09 tsp PPO. A normal for mica is 1 tsp PPO. Try 1/4 tsp PPO. I will put the secret swirl on my list. Thank you! 💖
Would this work as well just using the silicone mould without being placed in the wooden mould?
Yes, this would totally work as good in just a silicone mold. I just use the wooden frame to support the sides of my mold, so it doesn't bulge.
Loved the soap. Question...is the ratio the same for diluting TD with water as it is oil?
Thank you Stacey! No, when diluting with water, it doesn't take much, just enough to dilute. Hot water works best. When added to your batch, it needs to be stick blended in, or it won't mix completely. 😊
Hi Marie, I truly love your channel. I learn so much from watching you create different designs. I do have a question, do you have a soap box supplier that you can recommend?
Thank you so much Lashawn! I haven't really experimented with suppliers' boxes. I make my own with my printer and die cutter. It's quite a process. I dread it, but once they are done, I am back to loving them again. 😊
Loved the pattern and the colours! Could you tell me why use the titanium dioxide please? Does it make it easier to keep colours separated?
Thank you! 💖 I just use TD as a white colorant. I added it to the yellow and brown to get a lighter color and white was just the color picked for the center color.
Lovely soap, and I couldn’t help but notice your lovely soap packaging box. Do you make them too?
Thank you Christine! 💖 Yes, I make them. They are a lot of work. I love having the soap in boxes, but making your own boxes is so time consuming!
Absolutely amazing
Thanks very much showing the technique, really enjoyed watching it. Will you show projects using hanger swirl?
Yes, I do plan on doing hanger swirls at some point. 😊
I am new to making soaps. I loved your video and look forward to any others you share. I liked the bar on the left better. It had more detailed swirls. Thank you
Thank you, I hope to post more videos now that my kids are back in school. 💟
You are so amazing 👏🏾👏🏾
Просто умничка,любуюсь на красоту!!!
Beautiful. I like the flat stick better. I am new to soap making and would like to see a tutorial on using soap calc. IO have only used other people's recipes so far.
Thank you Olive! The flat stick seems to be the winner. I will plan on doing a tutorial on soapcalc. It is always a good idea to even put other people's recipes into soapcalc. Stay tuned! 💖✨💕
Please the soap cuter how can i get one to buy.
Interesting contrast. Well done
I like the right actually. Looks like a cleaner design.
Cool, thank you! 😊
Hi thank you for sharing your videos! I was just wondering how you split the soap in half and still come up with the right size?
You're very welcome! I have to use two pieces of cardboard as a spacer to get the right thickness. I cut that same cut twice and it comes out the right size to fit in my boxes.
Beautiful
Thank you!
Great job Teri! Very nice tutorial. I like the flat stick swirls better. I’ll have to try this the next time I do a Taiwan swirl. Thanks for the video and the clear instructions!
Thank you Teresa! Yeah, the stick is definitely the winner. I made my next batch using a popsicle stick. I will cut it tomorrow. It looks good so far. I filmed it, so if it looks good, I'll turn that into a tutorial. You should try it. The Skinny Sticks are sold in the craft department at Walmart.
I like this pattern, def L is better.
the one on YOUR left is prefered
Hello , it is not clear to me the amount of fragrance that I have to add in the 5.5% recipe, you can kindly indicate in oz or gr in this recipe how much fragrance is needed so that I can understand if I have done the math well .. Thanks a lot
in soap calc: Fragrance Ratio: If you will be using fragrance, enter the fragrance ratio. If you are new to soapmaking, use 0.5 oz per lb of total oil weight or 31.25 gm per kg of total oil weight. but I do not correspond to the 5.5% fragrance ... thanks very much
It is 5.5% of the total batch weight, so around 73 grams. You might find this tutorial helpful. I made the tutorial for Elements Bath and Body. learning.elementsbathandbody.com/tutorial/taiwan-swirl-soap-recipe/
Wow!! You are amazing!❤❤❤❤
Please can you explain how you made the dividers? I have a mould but no dividers. Also is the 10” mold 900grms or 1200 grams? X
It holds more than 1300 g. The mold is made with a Icona Bay PET Replacement for Picture Frame Glass, it's .88mm thick. I cut it using a rotary cutter, but you can use an exacto knife. I glued it together using CIGRIP 16 10315 Acrylic Cement, Low-VOC, Medium bodied, 5 Ounce Tube, Clear glue. I just used packaging tape for the tabs to pull it out. Hope this helps. 😊
I Love the left one. The design shows more and it's clearer. Greets from Germany. I love your videos
Yep, that one clearly one! Greetings from the States! 💖✨
Left one is more eye appealing
Popcicle stick looks better.
Do you buy or make your dividers? I would love to make this beautiful soap
I made a video on how to make dividers. ruclips.net/video/Yvu3triqrgw/видео.html
Beautiful...I like the flat stick much prettier...When you say 1:3 ratio when mixing your TD please tell me how...I always get white specks in my colors I hate it
Thank you Melanie! I think the flat stick is the winner. 😊 I usually mix 1/3 cup TD to 1 cup OO. I put it in a good gallon zip lock bag and mix it with my hands by rubbing it together. It takes time. I usually leave it laying on the counter over a few days and rub it when I walk by. Hold it up to the light to see specks they usually stick to the bag. Doing less at a time is actually easier/faster. Maybe try an 1/8th cup to 3/8th cup. I may make a quick tip tutorial on that, but that is the basics of it. Hope this helps! 💖✨
@@TreeMarieSoapworks Thank you for all of your help...Mel

How do u keep it fluid? Mine always firms up way fast.
The fragrance in this one causes trace to slow down. If I have a fragrance that I need to slow down, I add 1 tsp PPO of confectioners sugar to the water and dissolve it with a mini mixer before adding the lye. That helps it to slow down. You could try that. 💖
I like the one with skewer!
