I find the heavy use of tokens and templates a turn off. I'll take a measuring take and some standard numbed dice over colored sticks and a ton of tokens.
@@Whitewing89 my thoughts exactly. Feels too much like FFG wanting to nickel and dime you on supplies. I'd rather a generic measurement method, or even a hex system.
Great video I have love legion I have only played two games now but issue I’m finding is being new trying to find proper tutorials because most videos in the comments section have people saying they did something wrong could you do a series and how to play and what means what from beginner up to advanced I really like this game but for us newbies we need easier and clearer tutorials Thanks
The rebels have to have 3 of 5 models in the squad in base contact with the barricade to get the cover.. you also rolled the wrong dice for the speeder bikes.
Actually if half of the squad is concealed behind cover from the point of view of the squad SGT targeting them they get cover. Being in base contact with the barricade negates it as cover for that squad firing from it, an only your SGT needs to be in contact with it. The Bike cannons fire one of each dice IIRC it's pretty powerful.
Spikey Bits were talking about the first attack? I’m just going off a playthrough done with Alex Davies at GenCon. I thought to get the benefit of cover you had to have majority of your unit in contact with the cover terrain..
So do the speeders get 3 actions? You moved aimed and shot with them. Otherwise cool game that im worried will be like xwing were i have too buy both factions too get all the upgrades i can use
i bought one of everything thinking that it would be like xwing where you need to buy everything to get the cards..not the case with legion..i had to trade all the imperial shit back to another player because all the rebel stuff came with the cards anyway..its not like xwing or armada so you can stop thinking that
No that is to negate cover for their squads ranged attacks from that barricade. If 50% of a defenders models (from the point of view of the firing sgt) are behind cover they get the bonus.
It's such an overly-complicated ruleset. Legion is going to suffer the same date as Runewars because FFG lives putting special dice, cards, and movement rulers to every game. I want to love this game, but this ruleset is painful.
I really do not think that is the case at all Adam. I've ran hundreds of people though demos already at local stores, and no one had an issue with the complexity level yet.
I'm sorry, but your demo was terrible... you did not explain 90% of what was happening, in what order and why.... if you are going to do a video, you need to explain in detail the anatomy of any card used, you need to explain why dice were chosen, you need to state some offical items ahead of time like cover, specials, etc... please be sure you do your homework next time....
14 steps just to shoot at somebody. One of the worst put together rulebooks I have ever seen. The information of what each symbol on a unit card is strewn across multiple pages. The quick reference on the back does not cover all the rules necessary for a quick battle in terms of the actual rules. Balance in this game is another issue and is leaning towards power gamers.

I found it, defenders roll a defense die for every hit the attacker scored, leaving this up in case anyone else gets confused. Feel free to delete

I’m pretty sure impact only effects armored targets. Speeder bikes have impact one so only one hit will be changed to a crit

I’m confused about the dice conversion. What does it mean by adjusting the die? Doesn’t that completely defeat the purpose of a die?

They have whats called a compulsory move, where it does not count as a action against your 2 per activation, and they must preform a full move.

What game mat brand are you using? Also do you recommend using 2 3x3 mats or one 6x3?
This was FFG's Grass mat for Runewars. I would use 2 3x3 mats personally.
It was weird of ffg to not use the 4x6 size however with them already invested in 3x3s I guess it was so people could do the 2, 3x3s
