Hi UFC, Thank you for creating this content. I am new to ABBYY. My professional role is Blueprism Developer, and we use this application to convert invoices data into Excel. All projects were created in Version 11 and have been updated to Version 12. Can you please create a video on how to fetch older projects to the new version of Flexicapture? How can they modify and update it in version 12? It will be very helpful to us since we have 40 projects in production that need to be updated
Thanks so much Madhavi for watching our video and the video idea, we have that in our list. Updating older projects to the newest version of FlexiCapture is a pretty simple task. It can happen by simply opening the project, which can be done two different ways depending on if your project is local or published to the server. If the project is local, you can find it wherever the project is saved and double clicking on the project there. The project by default will open in FlexiCapture 12. You'll see a prompt that says, "The project will be upgraded to the new ABBYY FlexiCapture 12 format. You will not be able to open this project in earlier versions of the program.". Select "OK" and another prompt will appear showing you the status of the update. Once the update is completed, you can select "Close". Your project is now updated to the newest version of FlexiCapture. The other way is to open the project from FlexCapture 12 software. When you start the software, you'll see an "Open Project" window with three buttons. "Create New...", "Browse...", and "Browse from Server...". If you're updating a local project, select "Browse..." and find the location of your project. If you're updating a project on the server, select "Browse from Server...", enter the URL of the Application Server (and Tenant name if that's applicable) and select "OK". You should see a list of projects that are on that server. Select that project, and you'll receive the same prompt mentioned above about updating the project. Once you've gone through the prompts, your project is now updated. ABBYY does also have another method for updating projects using something called FCAdmin Tools. Using this tool, you shouldn't have to physically open each of your project to upgrade it to the newest version. You will still need to know exactly where each project is located though. You can find information on using this tool here: help.abbyy.com/en-us/flexicapture/12/admin_guide/upgradeproject/ Hopefully this helped answer your question. If not, or if you have any other questions on other ABBYY FlexiCapture features, please feel free to ask. I also want to mention that we do offer consulting services, so if you would like/need assistance with using the FCAdmin Tools, or any other aspect of your FlexiCapture 12 upgrade, we would be more than happy to assist you with this. If that's something you're interested in, please feel free to contact us through our website: www.ufcinc.com/contacts/
