    I see complaints in here... on how this girl applies/processes.. but it doesn’t matter.. she doesn’t claim to be a professional and she can do what she wants.. and the fact it comes out awesome and healthy hair! Is inspiring me to try this! Thank u for this video.. I’ve seen soooo many videos frowning on box dyes but this is great! ❤️

      Thank you Thank you ❤ I've used box dye since I was 16...and I'm 29 now lol To each their own! When I start to see my roots quit a bit I dye my hair again so I make sure to wait months in between...plus my hair seems to take really well to dye so I don't ever notice harsh damage. 🤷‍♀️ As much as I love the gray/blonde I switched colors and started using Butternut (same brand) which is more of a natural blonde. This white blonde just didn't match well with my red roots no matter how much time I let it sit. If you decide to try box dye just be careful! I know the same color works different on different hair. Have a great day!

      Pure Farmhouse thanx for the warning! ❌ I do realize my hair will prob turn out differently then yours I’m a level 6 (brown 🤎)... I’ve decided to stop wasting money on hair salons also! But blonde can be a hard color to achieve 👱🏻‍♀️ but I’m up for the challenge 💪🏻 I’ve played around at Sally’s and havnt got the results I’ve liked yet... so yes I’m gonna experiment with some box dye possibly 😬 n I’ve been looking at colors.. I am familiar with butternut! And the brand your using ive seen good reviews else where also! 💛 thanx so much!!!! ☺️

    Just a tip: you can dilute the rest little bit with conditioner because the 30v developer is too strong for prelightened hair... or only do it in the last 5-10 min before washing off- to avoid unnecessary damage . Otherwise good job

    The dye mixture was not left on long enough to lift your roots. With roots that go light “orangey”, you need much more time with the dye on your ROOTS ONLY - before applying all over. Box dye developer is not that high volume, so needs more time to LIFT the roots. The mid and ends of your hair won’t take long to lift. NOTE....Use a hairdressers tinting brush to apply only to the darkened area of the roots (to avoid “banding” colour results on the hair).
    METHOD with box dye for blondes wanting to lighten roots......Put dye mixture on roots ONLY for 30 to 45 minutes. Apply to rest to hair for 10 minutes. Try the Fudge Purple Shampoo....they do a CONDITIONING version AND a MATCHING CONDITIONER!! It’s THE darkest purple shampoo ever...it’s like dark purple INK!! USE DISPOSABLE GLOVES, as it will stain your hands! Even just the shampoo is conditioning on the hair! (Purple shampoos can leave your hair SO dry....but not this Fudge one!!) It’s called FUDGE CLEAN BLONDE DAMAGE REWIND. You do need to get the DAMAGE REWIND version though. It’s AMAZING!!....do try it. Teddy UK xx

    I think it’s a really good idea! I’m the same way, I’d rather use a color over pre lightened bleached hair. I don’t really like using toners and color lasts longer and gives a better blonde hue. However I wanna say box dye is made to lighten a few levels. That means it can cause a little damage. I would recommend going to Sally’s and getting an ion or wella color with 10 volume developer or 20 if you want to lift a bit. Ion High Lift Ash Blonde is the BEST!!!💗💗 I have a similar complexion to yours. It gives a bright silvery white neutral blonde not a dark ashy blond it’s perfect. Another good one is wella lavender ice if you want a more ashy light gray color. I mix a squeeze of it in sometimes but it’s definitely GRAY so be prepared for that.

  • @suzannecampbell2260
    @suzannecampbell2260 4 года назад +1

    You did a good job. A hair color brush is awesome to pour in a hair color bowl. I also take a mixture of tap water mixed with a leave in conditioner. The smaller the parts will allow a more seamless color. I also recommend using well fitted gloves. I throw those cheap gloves away. Always after your roots are getting lightened up enough then go in with your color brush. Dip and pull it down to the demarcation line. I also put conditioner on my ends because they get porous. I’ve used this color it worked out well. My little boy loved my blonde hair. When my parents would take him uptown. Every blonde woman he saw from a distance he would be yelling Mommy come back. So sweet. Precious memories. Lol. You did great I hope you don’t mind my suggestions. Yes well water that has a lot of rust. Will cause your color to look kinda brasses. Your beautiful. Be blessed. 🌹

    I have used this color for over a decade its the only color which gives me the least orange or brass. The 2nd time doing it I have zero brass. I do get a little yellow orange near roots, if dying virgin hair. But I just do it a 2nd time and boom it's gone. Note: my natural hair color is a 7 ash, maybe a 6 but I have been told I am a 7 ash. My natural ash seems to be a violet ash. Thanks for this video. You're shoulder length hair it cute on you. Usually I am not. So, I went blonde about a month and a half ago but the color wasnt as light as I wanted. I used a box dye which lifted my hair about 3 levels. I managed to put highlights in my hair using a mixture of baking soda, peroxide, and shampoo and that method did lighten my hair a Lot but it was very damaging and it took several washes to get all the baking soda out of my scalp and hair. Used purple shampoo to tone and ended up a medium beige blonde. I'm going to use a high lift color to lift it blonder now that I've got my hair silky and damage free again. Had to trim the ends of my hair and do a dusting (cutting split ends only all throughout the hair) in order to have healthy hair again. Your color looks great! Really suits you. I wanted to warn people about this baking soda lightening method because a lot of people say it won't damage your hair but mine was pretty broken and dried out before I trimmed and dusted it plus had to do a lot of hair masks and overnight treatments. Ellebangs has a great channel and shes a blonde specialist so I recommend checking her out because she teaches a lot of DIY methods that work. Anyway, great video and glad you have such beautiful results at home!! 💜🌼

    I went to a big nice expensive salon for a couple years... one day I went in to get my roots done and it all fell out. Holy crap. Bra strap length to 2 " long hair. Its been a year now and its and ugly shaggy mullet thing(too scared to mess too much with it) but I used garnier 111 on my natural dark ash blonde hair (like a 7a) and then toned it with wella 050 mixed with great conditioner not a developer. Voila. Platinum silvery level 10 pretty hair. Why was anyone even using bleach on my hair ? I'm so confused. Wish I had just done it this way. Each time I went every 4 weeks it was hundreds of dollars also. My way cost 20 bucks maybe

    There's a lot of misconception about hair turning "orangey" color. Usually, if your roots turn orange but the rest of your hair lightens, it means the roots are over-saturated. This is because the heat from your scalp processes the bleach quicker on your head than the rest of the strand of hair. Always put bleach on mid-shaft to ends, then come back on the roots after. hope this helps!

    • @BrookeLeasure

      Thank you! And I think you could! As long as you dont mix it all together first and then try and set it aside. I would pour half of the color formula and half the developer into a separate bowl and then leave the other half in the bottles like it came so it's not all "activated" if that makes sense. As far as having enough "mixture" I think you would be ok! And if all else fails and you needed more you have the other half to mix and use. :)

Depending on what your hair color is now just be careful trying something new out! I feel like my hair never looks exactly like the box color because of the red tones in my hair. Do you use the purple conditioner after you wash the dye out, as you can see in my avatar, this is the same hair dye, but it's brassy looking to me, or it pulled some red out in my hair, I want it to go blonder, so use the purple conditioner after rinsing the dye? Or use the conditioner that comes with the box? I have wavy hair, and when I dye it, it kind of kills off my waves, my hair is much longer now, growing out a very short hair do, to a short/ medium bob.

    • @BrookeLeasure
      @BrookeLeasure  5 лет назад +2

      I think since your hair is more of a golden blonde, your undertone is going to be more orange-ish and that can show up more when you dye it with certain colored box dye. If I were you I would even Google "fixing orange hair after bleaching." U can get a better idea of what box dye would work better for your natural color. And since it's more orange now u might want to try a blue shampoo to neutralize the orange. Look into a toner too! A toner wont lighten your hair but it should take the brassy orange out and *I think* is semi-permanent so it shouldnt be too damaging. I'm not a hairstylist or anything so def look into everything first!! It's just my experience with box dye and researching colors, etc. Hope it helps! I've had my hair turn orange and it's no fun!

    yeah they only work for natural blondes. Ny blonde friends looked like they used powdered bleach it was white...the rest of us...tangerine orange.

    Hey lovely how did you achieve the blonde when you first started?did you get some highlights and then dyed it or did you start straight away with the dye?

    • @BrookeLeasure
      @BrookeLeasure  5 лет назад +2

      Hey! My hair is naturally a lighter reddish/blonde so that probably helps a lot to begin with. Ive been dying my hair with box dye for many years so it's always stayed a lot lighter. (I've also used the highlighting kit with the cap lol) I had dyed my hair with a different dye that turned it more yellow so I waited a little more than a month before I tried this one that turns it more of a silver blonde. ((Look into toner too I just recently used T18 toner that dyed my hair a nice silver blonde and took the red out of my roots!))

    So far I've only watched
    3 minutes and there is the most gorgeous dog that seems to need something to take the edge off. Possibly gnawing on a bone can give some sense of soundness for a dog. She/he just needs to gnaw on a lg. bone from your grocer's meat department. It'll cost maybe two bucks 🙂 You can poach it/ bake it or give it raw. . . Oh maybe he just needs to go out, sometimes an extra out helps the urge
    for the potty 🤭
    I wish I was you having that dog is awesome.
    First time viewing your vid..
    I've got to do my hair like everyone else so I want to finish watching now!
    Don't forget your little darling needs something satisfying to do. Hanging with a bone is
    good stuff 😉

    Hi, New subscriber here. Do you have a video of cutting your own hair in this style? Also, please tell what shade and brand eyebrow pencil? My hair is a natural medium ash blonde but eyebrows are completely light, very light blonde so as to be invisible. Cannot find a taupe pencil w/o reddish tones. What do u think of my dying my brows? Thanks. You ha e a beautiful face 🙂🌈

    • @BrookeLeasure
      @BrookeLeasure  4 года назад +2

      Aww thank you! And thanks for subscribing! I don't have a video cutting my hair but I do want to make one soon! I recently cut my own hair and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. (So I'll def work on that soon) I have the same issue with my eyebrows being very blonde. I like to use Revlon eyebrow pencils and I always buy it in the shade "blonde." Every now and then I will dye my eyebrows using mens beard dye! (I can make a video of that also) I try to buy the lightest shade possible (which I have only found dark blonde/lightest brown which is still dark for me) ...mix a quarter size of the developer and color that comes in the box... leave it on for maybe 30-40 seconds. A min at the most. Even if it looks really light or like it hasnt dyed them at all it ALWAYS darkens a ton over time!

    It is called "regrowth", not roots.
    Hair is made of a tough protein called keratin. A hair follicle anchors each hair into the skin. The hair bulb forms the base of the hair follicle. In the hair bulb, living cells divide and grow to build the hair shaft. 😊
