This is great, i wanted to BUY a custom overlay, but you literally just showed me how to do it for myself, for that, im forever grateful :)
It's so much more fun designing your own stuff, even if it looks cheaper than downloadable overlays. And gives your stream something totally original.
Also, wanted to share, because I just started working on my own stuff thanks to the video, if you right click on the star icon in the bottom right, it does a custom shape, to the right of Width and Height at the top of the page you will see a category that says shape, they actually have logos already entered into the system that you can choose from, including twitch, and other popular social medias :) hope this helps!

Lifesaver! I tried Gimp but it wasn't very intuitive (the mac version) so I usually default to making all my emoticons and thumbnails in.... paint and power point respectively. Can't wait to give this a try, thanks! Looking forward to making my own overlays finally!
i agree with you gimp takes a minute to learn for sure and some of the stuff is ass backwards but once you get it figgured out its a very powerful tool!! if you ever neeed any help with gimp let me know ive got a pretty good handle on it now!!

Just saying you can upload the background image with 0 problems. Then turn that layer off then start with designing your Actual screen that way with each edit you can pop in the background layer to see each new edit

Hey man, after making these overlays how do you get the "new follower" "New Sub" or "New donation" to keep up and put the names as it happens?
They are called "Stream labels" look up how to add them using your alerts service, Streamelements, streamlabs, etc...
