Jokic’s modesty is strategic. When your best player doesn’t have an ego, no one else is allowed to either. Everyone has to play for the team. That’s leadership beyond words.

Denver native here. What’s dope about Jokić is how much of a “regular person“ he is. In late 2018, I saw him and his brother at Dave & Buster’s on Colorado Blvd right off the highway. A guy had just finished taking a picture with Jokić when I noticed him. I walked over to ask if my girlfriend at the time could take a picture, and he obliged, putting his arms around both of us, and smiling. And then a huge line began to form and he stayed to take a picture with every single group that asked for one.

But when they have their duos, they become almost unstoppable because of the space their teammates create for them. Jokic is a great player but the Nuggets system helps escalating his game too. He was the system like you said but doesn’t necessarily mean he’s the best player (more like the most important player). It just means the whole team ran most plays through you and because Tim Duncan was so unstoppable in his position (most people have him as the best power forward of all time) but it doesn’t translate to the best player in the world and I think he and also Jokic know that. There’s Giannis, Steph, KD and Lebron in the league and they all have proven that they can lead their teams to championships. @@vlada Learn how to read buddy. A system player and a player who is the system are two different things. Jokic’s game and his body size allow his teammates to run plays around him so effectively. And please don’t ever compare European players to the NBA. They play tactical basketball in Europe and i truly believe some European clubs and national teams have very good chances to beat smaller NBA market teams like the Rockets or the Pistons in a game cuz they are that good but individually and talent-wise, NBA players are on their own level and it’s not even close.
Just so you know, passionate or intense games are overrated. Yes it’s exciting to watch players get physical and give it all but in the end it all comes down to who have better tactic, technique, and executions. It’s like when you compare Turkish or Portuguese football vs Spanish or English football. No matter what you think, when you have better players, coaches, and systems, you always win.

Find the tape of Ayton last year arriving at bench and he couldn't talk and breathe at same time because he had to run back hard everytime Jok led a fastbreak. Even his quickness is pretty impressive as he backs down the quickly spins and passes by his cover.
But you're right. He reminds me of Tyson Fury that way.

As a Jokic stan, i will say this. I don't really care about his ranking in today's game, that is very subjective. On the other hand, i can guarantee you that no has more of an impact on the game and jokic, rebounding, pushing the pace, running the half court sets( they run pin downs for a center.wtf) not to mention his mental passing ability, there might be other players more talented, faster and stronger than him but basketball is played 5 v 5 and i am taking jokic over everybody.
