Ive made loads of these trees and I have a suggestion. When doing the bottom, brush it with plain white glue first. It makes the base really sturdy and almost hides the raw edges , as well as keeping them from fraying.

My mother-in-law was very crafty, and I learned how to make the pine ones made like this but with ribbon. So cute. Never thought about a tree. Will be doing this for Christmas!
I am absolutely LOVING watching all of your videos... have always had a sewing machine but only hemmed pants... please, please, I would love to make Christmas stockings for my family this year... really good sized stockings. Nothing really elaborate. Could you please do a video on creating a stocking with possibly a template.
Love your videos! Just a few suggestions! (1) You keep mentioning "sizing" in your videos, but you don't tell us how to do it and what you mean. (2) When you were covering the bottom of the tree, I know you were were promoting sales for the green fabric, but it would have been LOADS simpler to use one piece of round fabric.
Thanks so much for your questions and comments! (1) Sizing is a fabric spray similar to starch that we prefer since it will not distort the fabrics or flake. Our favorite brand is Mary Ellen's Best Press: www.amazon.com/Mary-Ellens-Starch-Alternative-Ounces-Scent/dp/B0018N8B0E/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1476992093&sr=8-5&keywords=best+press (2) Thank you so much for pointing that out, we were just giving that option since someone who gets the green strip fabric from us would be able to use our method but if you use fabric from your stash, you can absolutely use a circle on the bottom of the tree :)
What a cute tree. I love watching your video's, even if it's something I'm not going to make. It's a good way to pick up tips along the way. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next year. Happy Christmas Jennifer and to everybody who are involved in making these quality video's :)
Love your videos!!!! I have made almost all your projects, No-Sew Quilted Wreath, Quilted ornament, Quilted tree, etc. Are you planning on something new for 2017?
Thank you for your videos. I thought I would suggest a no sew method for your infinity scarves is to us 1/4 in. Steam a seam when ironed it becomes permanent. I use it for many things where I need to sew a seam. I hate to hand sew anything.
I've made one of these...they are really cute but seriously, A LOT of pinning :) I pre-pressed all of my pieces. It seemed to make the project go quicker.

What size cone for the larger fabric tree should I get? Several sizes at Michaels & Joann Fabrics. Also, how big should I make the squares for a smaller version? I’m new to your channel, & I absolutely love it. Catching up on all your past videos. Thanks so much
We used 6 inch trees in this video! If you use a larger tree, you can use the same size squares, just add more of them. Personally, we like the look of the 2.5" squares, but you can adjust the size of the squares to be larger or smaller depending on the size of your tree cone, it's just up to you. I love the video and the one you did on the ornaments but on these trees you don’t mention what the size is of the styrofoam cone like you do with the styrofoam ball for the ornaments. This can vary based on how closely you group your pieces as you go around so we suggest starting with about 45 and going from there :)
