I loved it! Not just because it was an anime, because it was different than most anime. There's a unique childlike humor about Hana and Alice that sets the story mood innocent and carefree. Almost like back in the days, where you whined about the cold to your mother and your eyes grew wide at the aroma of ramen. I don't know, but they were my favorite Asian-American memories as a child and I'll always treasure them like that. This movie brought back that nostalgia and includes the old good classic humor you find in manga nowadays. Everything about this movie was just different. The art style, the characters, everything. It's not like most anime. And that is what makes it stand out! Unlike most anime, the characters seem real, and I mean, REAL real. Most anime portray the characters as certain anime tropes unlike The Case of Hana & Alice, everyone was straight-up unique. Not saying most animes don't give their characters personalities, but as the characters didn't change as much and there was always a main point to the story. This anime looks like there's a problem in the story and a main point as well, but the characters are just enjoying life. And we need more anime like this! Characters just enjoying life and not solving problems every 30 seconds. We need characters to reveal and be themselves, not act like they're in a fucking drama. ALL IN ALL, THIS ANIME IS INCREDIBLE AND A MASTERPIECE! WATCH IT RN!! (Also, it's very underrated and deserves to shine *sobs*)
Is this CG or 2D animated? It seems like it bounces back and forth or its a fail at keeping the animation consistent. That said, I'm not gonna bash on this even before I see the film, but you know what? I'm gonna go watch it anyway; looks pretty cool
remember watching this 2015 or 2016 with my friends we thought was boy because her voice and apparel but when she on mission she wear skirt...we confused for a second and then we laugh because how come somebody name HANA was a boy...
@@Cardzworld712 wait? there are people that have a physical media player but it ISN'T a Blu player yet? they're dirt cheap man, toss out that old fashioned DVD player and get one. you can get a decent one for $39.00, a good one for under $80, and a great one for $100...

Honestly, it was very fun to watch but if it wasn't rotoscoped and was made into a normal anime, it would still be popular till this day. It sucks when underrated movies like this doesn't get much attention and get completely forgotten

@@saranicegirla yep, this is not about the visual... or rotoscoping... they did rotoscoping because the creator want to archive perfect human behaviour that reach a decent "familiar" level to audience. this is one of the anime that adopt Isao Takahata perspective. which is "make the story simple as possible, but add a deep detail to the other general details" i really love this kind of anime.

all of iwai's works are amazing, although most of them are live action films.
Looks like a breath of fresh air that will end like "wtf did Just watch?". Can't wait to see it.
This is actually pretty good though
Oh wow this deserves waaaaay more attention I’m totally gonna share this with my friends!!
0:18 looks like a picture of a real place with an anime filter on it. I'm ok with this.
danielsjohnson it’s an animation technique called rotoscoping: the movie was actually filmed then drawn on top of that film.
u can see this place irl in the movie hana and alice btw, it's hana's house
Oh baby Rotoscoping

It's rotoscoped, they filmed it in live action then drew the outlines and color on top
@@Br0wnEyedQueen OoOoOohhhhhhhhhh
It's a regular problem in rotoscoped animation keep a good rhythm.

was interested in this but Rotoscoping is so uncanny to me.
I love it! Since Pop Star & Heavy Metal

I'm still like those other clothes style such as adidas tracksuit baggy hoodie sweatpants shirts socks and sneakers shoes
👌
This movie has some gorgeous backgrounds, but the rotoscoping is lame.
Want to so this so mutch
Ehhhh...rotoscope why??????? :/
Is a rotoscope film?
I don't like rotoscope animation :(

i really love this kind of anime.
The contrast between the awesome looking backgrounds and the overly simple flat characters is jarring and unappealing
Great, another CG anime. We are one step closer to the death of 2D.
Not 3d, actually it's rotoscoping
this is the most disgusting wii-sports looking-ass animation i've ever seen
