@@foxbear60 - Thanks foxbear, yeah I'm really happy that I'm going back and optimizing these tracks. You learn as you go, and I would never be happy with the old ones.
What is good about this song is that it stimul your feeling of loneliness and dread, since you have no backup ulties on this entire level and have to meet not only all bosses x2, but multiple goons and Mr.X himself all alone. The ultimate final stage and soundtrack.
I guess the feeling this piece gives me is a little different. It's more like "I've come this far and faced every obstacle along my way. Zettai ni yarimasu."
Is it me or is the piano part at the beginning missing the other notes of the chords (or at least, they're very quiet)? Anyway, how much of SOR2 is getting the "Gold Edition" treatment before ROS?
The notes are there :) I'm very meticulous when it comes to that. Depending on the original VGM you're listening to (and sometimes the emulator), the arrangement can sound a bit different. SOR2 will be getting the full remaster treatment as well. SOR3 was the point where I felt that everything perfectly clicked in terms of EQing, mastering, stereo width, etc, so I won't be doing those. Just 1 and 2.
@@MaestroDraven Are you doing _all_ of SOR2, or only up to a certain track? I'm you mentioned a few days ago that you weren't remastering the _entire_ of your SOR2 arrangements.
@@scmtuk3662 - I think in hindsight, I will probably do most of SOR2. Maybe leave the last few tracks alone, as they're pretty spot on. Out of those last few tracks, I may tweak one or two things, but not do a full Gold Edition. Not QUITE certain yet.
MaestroDraven what software do you use to use the same instruments in the original songs to extend / customize it ? I'm thinking about trying to extend a song lol
Sorry for the late reply. I use a combination of VSTs that replicate the sound chips in the original Genesis. From there, it comes down to finding the correct instruments, which isn't always an easy thing. Sometimes it requires a lot of work to replicate the sounds, and a lot of it can't be done from the VST itself, but within the DAW you're using. Stuff like vibrato, pitch bend, etc. sometimes require you to shape the sound outside of the VST. It's a long and complex process, but not impossible.

Been waiting for this one boss!!!
Just for my curiosity, does this mean you'll be done remastering SOR tracks after this run?
@@foxbear60 - That's correct. I'm going through SOR1 and SOR2 very quickly, just to touch them up, and then that's that. It's time to move on.
@@MaestroDraven - Congrats on the progress ahead! I certainly hope that you back on these songs with pride! 💗🙏🏾

I still think this is the best theme in the series.
I’m still wondering how this guy made hit after hit and he put all of them into two games
It's heavily arguable. Although SoR2 has the best soundtrack in the series, this one song stands out So strongly within the first game
People say that SOR2 soundtrack is better than SOR1 soundtrack and I think they're deaf. SOR1 has always been the best.

Often come back to listen to this gem 😎
These remixes are awesome, thank you so much. Have played the old songs to death, finding these have been a breath of fresh air
Oh man expanded and enhanced was the perfect description, that melodic solo around 2:00 just popped me so bad,
Really solid work here man
Great work!
