I’ll get on for my electric kick scooter 🛴💨. I have a small pouch on front and can drop one inside. So if it gets stolen or impounded by Police 👮♀️ (they’re illegal in UK), I can find it 🤗

Do NOT put your luggage airtag on the outside of the bag where everyone can see it and it's easily removed and tossed away. Hide it inside! I would think this would be obvious.
Some people are dim I’d put it in my bag thrives remove everything outside the bag

@@iinathaniii2 remove the speaker so no one knows it's there. you can still track it from the app.
The NFC personal automations are a nice additional feature, and NFC tags in general can be handy when you don't want to manually do an action (or several) or use a voice command to trigger a Siri Shortcut.
I have one set up to "Start Dog Walk". When I trigger it, shortcuts makes sure my earbuds are the selected audio source (incase they were connected to a second device), sets the volume to 60%, plays Overcast podcast app, starts an Outdoor Walk tracking on my Apple Watch, and marks a dog walk in my Streaks app.
So just as I'm about the head out the door, tap the NFC, put iPhone in winter jacket pocket, and leave. No need to fiddle with my watch or starting audio etc while holding the leash and getting out the door.
Similar one for starting a motorcycle ride. Tap the tag on my bike key, it makes sure my Cardo Packtalk is set as the audio source, sets volume to 100% (as I control volume with the Cardo, and wear ear plugs), plays Overcast podcast app, and sets my Focus Mode to Riding, which has its own set of functions like turning on low power mode, filtering who can call me, custom Home Screen with what I want quick access to should I pull over during a ride, like the Calimoto routing app, the Cardo app, weather widget etc..
You’re so positive and upbeat in all your videos. What’s most important is you’re also super informative! I’ve been using Tile for years and saw these AirTags today in the Apple Store when I was picking up my watch. Apple was not great at explaining what they do but now that I see how great they are, I May transition over. I have an iPhone, AirPods Pro and now a watch and I like that it works with those products. I also use my Tiles for the car, bike, keys and more. I like the accessories because as much as I love Apple, their accessories can be too pricey. Awesome video! After viewing a bunch of your videos lately, I recently subscribed. Love how whimsical you can be! ❤
Well after being an android user since the beginning of time I am switching to iPhone after watching you .I use it to turn my nose up to iphone now I really want one . Thanks again for the informative information and wow 😉💖
2:42 I didn't realize the Siri aspect of finding your AirTag, interesting. I actually use my AirTag when I send my son packages here in the United States because he lives far away. What I do is stick the AirTag in a self addressed envelope and put it in the box on top. When my son gets his box, he opens the box and simply puts the envelope with the AirTag inside back into the mail so it comes back to me until I send him another box.
I actually have an AirTag right now in Australia that has travelled over 55,000 miles. It started off in the United States then went to Japan, Australia, Canada, Qatar and back to Australia. I am currently waiting to get the AirTag back but the person that has it is out of town until July. Pretty cool experiment that I am trying.

Good video. Thanks for creating and sharing, but precision tracking will only work for iPhones 11 and newer. I have an older iPhone 8 plus, so precise tracking will not work.😭

Not sure about the latest generation of AirTags, but my 1st Gen are a pain to get to the battery...sometimes it takes a gentle twist and sometimes a firm one and sometimes you have to just keep trying and trying and trying. But I love them...have one hidden in my car (great when parking at a stadium, mall or theme park) have one attached to my backpack and another to my keys and a spare for when I need it.
Two fingers firmly pinch and push down. Rotate slightly to left. Pop.

It's not GPS so it's completely useless unless someone's phone is nearby

So, I received 4 for Father’s Day. Love them. I’m currently tracking some equipment for work that I shipped to Salt Lake City. Pretty dang cool. I was able to see it cross multiple states, from the various UPS facilities to its final destination. I’ll be buying more of these. BTW, thanks for the great video.

Too bad we didn’t have these a couple of weeks ago when my kid lost his key to the truck. 😂 Currently thinking of other items to use them on.
Amazing video. I learned a lot. Thanks for sharing. However, we do not get precision location in the United States. It shows directions but they cannot show distance from within my house. So unless I happen to hear the ping, I won’t be able to find my air tag’s location in my house. This is very unfortunate.
Update: i discovered that precise location only works with iPhone 11 and above. I have iPhone 10 😣
On my iPhone 13 I was able to find my keys which were in a file cabinet downstairs when it said it is below me.
The shortcut automation is very useful!

I used two of these to track my grandchildren (5 and 10 yrs. old) at an interactive kid's museum. I was able to relax and enjoy the experience with the younger one instead of constantly hovering over both.
That is great news - but also remember any person can take a child and throw the air pod away.

That's true but just about every other cell phone user in the world has an iPhone. It's almost like a white or silver vehicle, here comes another one.

Great video, not sure if it’s been covered before but the new Duracell batteries have a coating to stop children putting then in their mouth which stops it from working in the AirTag. Fair Winds.

We put AirTags in our luggage and the planes we’ve been travelling in haven’t crashed yet
I just did use it for a flight from Bangkok to Dubai..I wish there was a way for the AirTag to notify when the baggage is nearby on the luggage carousel so you don't stand waiting for it ...

I put mine inside my suitcase..so i can track if the suitcase is on board of the airplane, when it's lost in the airport i can track it down and i can see when it arrive on the belt to pick it up...works great!
I’ve used air tags on multiple airlines in all luggage. Never had a problem, and it’s always so nice to be able to see if the bag makes it to the destination or if you need to head to the lost baggage counter when you arrive.

We leave ours in our luggage when we travel in case they get lost. And they are a great way for us to find our way back to our hotel/river boat when our luggage is in the room/cabin. If you get turned around while out abd about, walk back to your luggage.

Great tips! But forgot to mention that the airtags work only in Bluetooth proximity of other iPhones since they don't have a built-in GPS. So if there are no iPhones nearby they won't work.
And the only time iPhones wont be around is probably if you are in North Korea or off this planet.
There is always an iPhone nearby.
Hence their emergence a decade or more after the first iPhone!

I got myself one as a present the Xmas they came out. It’s been great honestly. For what I paid? Well worth it. I love out of a backpack. This stays clipped in with the Belkin holder in a hidden compartment. It’s a potential lifesaver. I got the dirt cheapest battery pack of 10 on Amazon and they last about a year each generic battery.
These are a solid investment for normal people.

I'll definitely be getting one for my dog, car and scooter. Maybe camera gear bag, luggage and car keys? Unfortunately, I'll have to wait until I go back to the US to get them. If they get them where I live they will probably charge $40-50 for one.

It only appears when you activate lost mode
You need an iPhone nearby to update its location so if something is lost in a field it's completely useless
It's just a bluetooth device with no GPS

BEWARE - with some holders, especially the silicone ones, they will get stretched out and the air tag will fall out. I learned this the hard way. Really make sure that there is enough material all the way around the air tag.

@@phillman5 Well, you can find the tag, but not your luggage.
Another reason why putting the tag *in* something (if the thing can contain it, like a suitcase or backpack with a coin pocket) is better than attaching it with an extra holder.
Ok lots of good information But you forget to let people know that precision tracking will not work on older iPhones. For example one of iPhones is a XR and it can’t use that feature.
Maybe you could do a update video and provide what iPhones are required to be able to use precision tracking. 😀

Great video. My question is, would it be best to place the air tag somewhere "inside" your luggage and not on the outside? It could possibly be damaged or torn off by the baggage handler.

We used ours INSIDE our checked bag(s) - it worked from Dulles and Heathrow. Especially nice at Heathrow (LHR) - b/c our flight was cancelled (along w/many other BA flights, earlier this month) - so we ended up at a 3rd terminal, and a 3rd airline/booked flight. We were super stressed out luggage would not make it on the 3rd plane (all of this happening so quickly) - it was nice to see the bags move from terminal to terminal and the when we landed - we could see the bags again with us. I put mine in the inside zippy compartment - he put his in his Dopp kit.
We've placed inside the zipped lining of our suitcases.

I wonder if this could be a game changer for kidnappings around the world. Just attach one to your kid(s) daily. Somewhere hidden in their clothes or shoes so they can't lose it and the kidnapper won't find it.

I’ll tell you one thing that sucks about the sound that the air tag megs. I have a tile and when that thing makes a sound you can tell exactly where it’s coming from but the sound that Apple chose is really weird and it kind of sounds like it’s coming from everywhere. So if there was someway to make that better somehow that would be cool
