All these days I was thinking that antigen test is something like taking a blood sample. Didn't know it was also done by inserting into nose😤.
Sona nanotech in Halifax has a test that can test asymptomatic patients and has results in 15 mins, currently awaiting Health Canada approval. This could solve all of our covid problems and reopen the economy

I'm not concerned about the false negatives for antigen tests. Most of those false negatives will correspond to low levels of virus where the patient isn't infectious. It's very important to distinguish between infected and infectious. If you have a very low level of virus in you, chances are your system has suppressed the virus, and you're feeling OK and you're not infecting anyone else. That person can go to work/school safely. If you're infectious, you have a high viral load and any krappy antigen test will identify you.

How does this test show false negatives. Is it due to sample collection or methodology or patient condition or something else. If it has accuracy of ~50% can I do the test twice. Will it increase the chances
Nothing good to happen...Doing test twice and getting Negative Result may keep ur confidence high..But if the COVID-19 present in Lungs...Stomach...
being asymptomatic will drag ur whole family into risk including U and also testing twice will attract more doubt of Medical staff and they may suspect ur asymptomatic and can keep u in home Quarantine or may do a RT-PCR test ...

Why can we not test saliva? And back of throat only? Why stick swab deep into the nose??
same I’m also curious? Why does it have to be deep into the nose? According to the vid it’s also possible just by the nose and not necessarily all the way inside the nose but most people who have experienced an antigen has to get the stick up in nose thing
I'd offer a couple points: How can Rt-PCR be the "gold standard" for clinical diagnostics when it wasn't designed for such and was never used for this prior to 2020? I think it takes longer to establish a gold standard. Antigen tests are also more reliable for infectious individuals than non-symptomatic (non-spreaders), which would be the purpose of the test. If someone if symptomatic and tests negative, they can easily be retested with antigen again in 24 hours. That practice would bring results close to PCR testing results that allow for a maximum cycle threshold of 30 (as suggested by the meta analysis by Oxford and others). So, quite accurate in a fraction of the time, and at a huge money savings.

What primers are they using on the rt-pcr procedure in other words what are they are they looking for since they have never identified purified or found either SARS or this current virus...
How are they testing for antigen for something that's never been found? .
How are they testing for antibodies for something they can't fine so how would they know the antibodies are for it. Why are you all playing science fiction pseudoscience when the science says they haven't found it. Please go back to real science do science not science fiction

Then u are asymptomatic and will be advised for RT - PCR and immediate self isolation .
Then you have a great immune system and should stay away from others for a time period.

Its not necesary that antibodies are provided to covid 19 right? It may have produced to fight viral fever ,dengue or other viruses so how do you distinguish that?

antibody is blood test
they are different, Antigen is test whether you have the disease at present. Antibody test tend to show if u got the disease before or not

Did it hurt a lot? I have VERY low pain tolerance n im getting an antigen test soon. Also did u take a pcr or antigen test?
if you listen to this..and finish it ...astigen is not sensitive....true positive will be low..the test is not good ...
Test is not good - for virus detection. Test is fantastic - for detecting most infectious people. High frequency is key. If we could isolate the most infectious people we will have made huge progress.
