      Brother? I have great respect and pack love for You! I've raised wolves before with My Children! I'm American Indian and I train pretty much as You! I have a severely traumatized Carolina/Malinois that I rescued! Severe PTSD. I had to teach Her what a water bowl was, Her dog kibble and treats! I'm the ONLY one She listens too! Everything I've tried and successfully used to train My 4 leggeds doesn't work with Her! Still so traumatized She follows me everywhere! Please help? She was between 5-6 months when I got Her! Her name is SelahGrace! I use positive reinforcement but I feel as if I'm taking 1 step forward just to take 2 steps back! I've had Her a year n I love her and don't want to lose her! She was so starved She'll never be full size! Sleeps perfectly around my head every night! What do I do?

      @@benitaheuer1464 How much interaction is she getting with other people? There used to be a saying back in the puppy program “100 people in the first 100 days” ……. sounds like you know what your doing for sure but maybe pass the leash to another handler that’s not so emotionally attached remember brother “EVERYTHING runs down leash”…….
      Have you tried water training WITH that which is scaring her? The mindset behind it is you give them something else to concentrate on while the “distraction” is going thus giving her a “new feeling” of joy calm playfulness in the water while her “distraction” is present….

      @@strenghsGirl your comment isn’t that complicated. Just look at before the dog was given to dog daddy and look after. Do you really need a time stamp to notice the difference? It’s not hard to see. Do you not know dogs? I work at a dog boarding facility and most people are clueless and base their opinion off their personal dogs which is usually the problem. I’m guessing the tail is the only body language sign you know to base dog’s behavior off of? If you can’t see for yourself how am I going to make you see it? You obviously don’t know what stress/fear barking is. Since you literally can’t see that that’s what the dog was doing. You made the “assumption” that it’s not when that’s what it is. Because you likely don’t know much about dogs and have just owned a dog or two is my guess. Usually that’s the case when people are this ignorant.
      If my comment makes no sense to you under yours…. Then you lack comprehension skills, I can’t solve that problem for you. If you’re stressed and then are “less” stressed. You are then “happier”. It’s really not that complicated.

It's either they are lazy, no consistent, don't know what to do or all of them. It's easy when you get use to it. Think of it this way. When you raise kids do you teach them right from wrong? Of course you should but their are lazy parents who do nothing and kids get confused or test what they can get away with and unsure bc sometimes they allow screaming yelling or no manors and other times they don't. Consistency is so important for animals and people

    I really like your work you're doing great and i learn a lot from you Today, when I went to take my dog for a walk, after a while my neighbor's dog came, he was highly reactive and my dog was very calm whenever he lost his attention. I give him a little pressure and he starts doing what he is doing I noticed something if we are paying attention or scared of something dog will also react like that it's really important to being confident around your dog thank you so much ❣️❣️ love from India 🇮🇳

    This is so valuable! I've tried three trainers, read as much as I could, and watched countless videos in the two years I've had my dog, and DD videos have provided the most clarity, both in his explanations and visually through watching his handling. Just incredible. I need to develop skills, but this is giving me real hope for me and my reactive dog. God gave you a gift, thank you for sharing with us and helping dogs and owners so generously.

    You can see why the Purely Positive crew don't like even a small correction; it works. So no need for hours of endless lessons and no meaningful progress. Here we have a combination of correction and positive which takes the best of both worlds and leads to a calmer and happier dog.

    • @DonnaBaker125
      @DonnaBaker125 Год назад +1

      The only alleged positive reinforcement I saw used with this dog is patting her on the head along with some verbal praise. My observation, however, is that she does not enjoy the head patting .... note that she cowers and moves her body lower to the ground whenever the Dog Daddy does this to her. Therefore, it is not positive reinforcement, it is positive punishment (the addition of something aversive to the dog). What is reinforcing for one dog may not be reinforcing for another dog. A skilled trainer will take the time to find out what the dog responds to and not assume that what he's doing is something the dog enjoys.

      @@jm484 I don't really understand what you are saying. I do have dogs, two big ones. They are very well trained. I love them, but believe that if they show aggression they need to be shown it is unacceptable. I love the DD as he uses positive where it works, but knows how to handle a badly behaving dog when necessary.

    I love these videos. Sadly so many humans have no idea how to be a leader to a dog. The same goes for horses etc. Most people have become so detatched to instinctual interaction and basic leadership to animals that the animals suffer. Animals never do anything wrong. They just lack basic leadership skills from their human!!!

      Your comments makes me angry and sad. These "dog trainers" should be forbidden and before court for abusing animals. And even teaching it. I don't blame viewers (like you), because they don't know any better.
      Watch this video without tone and just look at the body language of the dog. It is insecure and scared all the time. It never changes. The poor dog just learned that showing his emotions is bad. This dog will be unpredictable in the future if trained that way.
