@CampCrystalCharlie this was all real man, aside from Pamala, Azamat, and Luenell (the prostitute Borat marries) none of the people recorded knew what the real point of the movie was (an insane spoof on documentaries), they all thought he was a reporter from the middle east

They accidentally played the fake Kazakhstan National Anthem from Borat in Kuwait (2012) after Kazakhstan won a medal in a shooting competition. The country originally hated this movie, but later embraced it and changed their tourism motto to "Kazakhstan, very nice!", lol.

It may have been an unbiased parody of Kazakhstan as the characters, but the true humor is watching Americans embarrass themselves in reality while thinking they are superior. I am an American, so I can say that, lol.

I've found that when people don't find borat or Bruno funny, typically it's because he is making fun of them

Borat is the most racist movie ever made. Imagine someone one made such a movie about Cohen's Israel... IDF would bomb them or something. But I guess it's not racist (or 'anti sEmItIc') when they insult someone....
Going in, I was thinking "how in the heck can he not find this funny.". I'm glad you enjoyed it. If you want something crazy/weird/awesome, I'd recommend "Swiss Army Man".

This is the fakest react Ive ever seen dude. He's fake laughing the entire time. Foreigners are way better to watch react to movies cause theres more of a chance theyre real. Try the Habibi Brothers Movie React or CinePhiles React. Theyre from Algeria and Pakistan

He's just giddy and always mocks and laughs at everything, even serious topics. If you watch some other videos of his, it's his personality. Just because you're serious all the time, doesn't mean that everyone else has to be. I'm a really reserved and serious person and I know others don't have to be as well.

Pamela Anderson did NOT know that he was going to throw a blanket on her and try to take her. Apparently she had agreed to be filmed meeting this man "Borat" at the time.
Alot of people got exposed in this movie. If i remember correct the college kids in the van actually got expelled from their college for saying they want slaves back. The character is scripted but everything else was pretty much real.
Yep! They sued him and lost. They were real people.
I think he brought the Pamela sextape to move the plot along... Sasha and Co blocked scenes in advance, planning out a few alternate reads before they threw themselves into it with each real-life encounter and improvisation.
Really amazing work on a technical level as well as the comedy/satire.
When someone tells you “this movie is hilarious”, and it’s all hyped up, it’s never gonna be as funny, cuz it was built up so much.

Before I watch your reaction I’m going to admit, I did the same thing. I started watching it long ago and it was not funny! This was not my type of humor. 15 years later I tried to watch it again and it was hilarious! So much has changed and now I find it funny.

So Borat is obviously a character created and played by Sasha Baron Cohen. However, make no mistake, all the interactions all over the US were REAL and the people did not know it was an act or prank. They were eventually told it had been an act and some signed releases and some not. Sasha has become famous for creating characters and fooling people. He was already famous for "Ali G".

The movie's making fun of ignorant Americans who take this guy seriously, not Kazakh people. Could've been any country with a "stan" at the end. Would make zero difference.
Also get that he's jewish but played many different characters and really becomes them. He went on interviews still being Borat. You should watch a 30 minute interview of Borat on O and A that has Patrice O'Neal as a guest.
Also he does a pretty good Kazakhstan accent. If you look up a boxer named GGG there's a resemblance, lol.

i think if you saw borat's character before the movie you might have gotten in to it back then more. i 1st saw him on conan o'brien and thought he was funny. then a few years later i checked this movie out from the library and almost had an asthma attack laughing.
the scene when he was at the hotel and asked for a room and said "bang bang" almost made me rest in peace. lol
the only thing i didn't like was the scene where him and his friend...yeah...
he's the same dude that played ali g in the ali g show but i never watched it.
i think there's a sequel to this movie that came out 5 or 6 years ago but i don't remember what it was about. i don't think i liked it though.

i can watch any comedy for 10 mins and not find it funny, well almost all there aresome that you laugh from start to end, but if you dont feel like borats going to be funny then dont watch it its simple. its how you feel about it ive still never watched lord of rings or anything like that because i think its stupid. does that mean it is stupid movie no probably not thats just my opinion on what to expect from a movie about some ring and some fairy tale like harrry potter and broomsticks
