Sunday is a sweet day for me. I keep finding great guitar lessons Yes stuff , including this magnificant video.
thats 40 years of figuring sorted in 5 minutes! thanks!
I really appreciate these vids where folks have worked out certain bits. I've gotten lazy in my older years and love having quick references! Thanks for the vid! Now lets get cracking on Soundchaser!
would love to see your take on the end solo, especially the live one on yessongs (one of my all time favorites)
Awesome very awesome. Well done. Thank you for sharing that. a classic that will never fade star ship trooper. Just one great band of that era that could be considered the mozarts of rock n roll.
Thanks for that, love that riff!
Awesome vid! Starship Trooper is one of my favourite songs, and this is definitely one of the coolest riffs out there. My left hand is in severe pain after 30 mins of practicing this now btw, lol.
well done! i just started getting into Yes and love this song!
Nice vid, man! Starship Trooper is one of my favourite prog rock songs!
you make it look so easy. Brillant instructional video. Congrats.
nice one interf. I was listening to Yes in a trance nearly 40 years ago. Good to know that new blood feels the music is still worth listening to. Those chords are a lot easier in D open though...try it. Stay well and happy
@Liton777 No, because the root of each of these chords is the note played on the B-string. D Bb and G are the 5th of each chord. These are second inversion chords, so the 5th is in the bass.
CONGRATS ! VERY GOOD LESSON !
Probably because the guitar cabinet would be micked. This was done with just a camcorder mic which was close to the guitar. The guitar is a Tom Anderson Hollow Cobra.
Saw them live a few weeks ago, the new singer isn't as good as Jon but sounds pretty identical as him. They played this last.. was awesome.
I like this choice of voicings, very yrue to the original - thanks
Right on key . . . sounds like the original... nice !!
ahhhh thank you... couldn't figure out those voicing's, but this helped. I have that pedal too lol
No, it's a Tom Anderson Cobra. I guess it's a cross between a tele and a les paul. it's Gibson scale, mahogony neck and back with a maple top, two real nice humbuckers.
On the studio recording, the 1st time thru he does all 3 chords down the frets, but the 2nd time he takes the C chord seemingly up (plus 12 frets) to the 15th with that high root note of G. I think he only does that one time. He's accenting the bass notes esp. on the second time thru. Yes? ruclips.net/video/OrO9Ruas6Io/видео.html
thanks for the lesson..i got it right this time,,
This always reminds me on a Nirvana guitar riff. That really repetive but still fun to listen to. Cool vid man.
Great. And we do a great version of this song with it's correct intro (ant music)
you got a point there, but still I don't think he ripped it off, it was just a coincidence...
Joe Bonamassa does an awesome cover of this song.
Yes, (no pun intended) you're absolutely right. Check out Steves' instructional video clip in related videos. He does a nice job demonstrating alot of his signature parts.
thats like the hardest chord ever
@interfr you're right lol
wouldnt that be D Bb and G?
Theres to many bands who "steal"chords off of everyone.
Like the 12 bar blues shuffle...are those chords stoleN?
no.
At least the songs sound different right?
