Stevie Ray Vaughan Guitar Lesson Pride and Joy
www.theguitarmethod.com
Guitar lesson for Stevie Ray Vaughan's Pride and joy. This clip shows the intro section played up to tempo and at a slower speed for learning. The tuning on this video is standard pitch although I believe Stevie Ray is tuned down a half step if you are playing with the original recording. Keep your right hand relaxed during the rhythm parts, use alternate picking for all the single note lines. Have fun and enjoy.

www.theguitarmethod.com Guitar lesson for the intro to Josie by Steely Dan from their 1977 album Aja. Guitarists on this track were Larry Carlton, Dean Parks and Walter Becker. I tried to get the chords correct, I think they're pretty close. I saw Larry Carlton play Josie live a couple of years ago, he pretty much played lead throgh the whole tune and let the keyboard player handle most of the ...

www.theguitarmethod.com guitar lesson for the intro to Jeff Beck's "You Know What I Mean". This is the opening tune to Jeff's album "Blow by Blow" and this riff was heavily influenced by James Brown's funky guitar players. All dominant type chords here, 13ths, 9ths, and 7ths. Make sure you're muting the strings between chords to keep unwanted notes from ringing.

www.theguitarmethod.com Guitar lesson for the intro to "Ten Years Gone" off the album "Physical Graffiti". Some really interesting chord work by Jimmy Page. I forgot to mention on the video that the first chord, A major becomes an Asus2 after your left hand pinky is lifted off the fingerboard. "Ten Years Gone" is a great song for learning new chords and using them in a musical situation.

On the studio recording, the 1st time thru he does all 3 chords down the frets, but the 2nd time he takes the C chord seemingly up (plus 12 frets) to the 15th with that high root note of G. I think he only does that one time. He's accenting the bass notes esp. on the second time thru. Yes? ruclips.net/video/OrO9Ruas6Io/видео.html

At last, a teacher who plays the piece through all the way at tempo from the very beginning. I hate teachers who talk for 10 minutes before they play note one. Hey, this is how to teach a guitar lesson on RUclips.

Many versions to play this but the original version is a drop G.... keep in mind, live, he has a Bender on his Telecaster.... confusing on beginners trying to learn this.... The studio version is different. Watch that pinky on the A. just sayin...... John Paul Jones is Killer on the tripple neck when they played this song live.... they played it live for a very short time....

I see what you're trying to say. You could call it an FMaj9 with no 3rd I guess. I use triad / bass note names because it's simple to understand, C triad with an F bass note

Hi !We don't know each other, but I felt on your video for having uploaded the song "Josie",and I wanted to see if we were playing the same intro :in fact, yes, but with some little things changing,& when we play the same note,I sometimes play it on another string :perhaps is your method easier to play those notes, but not important.I wanted to watch a tuto of that intro, I love this song, like many, many Steely Dan's songs (I mean to play as to listen). Congratulations, cool tuto.Greetings.BYE !

Great lesson. The G# in the last chord completes a chromatic walkup from F natural on the first chord, the C/F. It's like a IV I IV #V weave. Steely Dan on top of their game.

For this section it doesn't really matter, no notes on the low E (D) Later in the song, the "bridge section" i guess i'd call it, has some drop D notes for sure.

@MOUTcertified I used a mesa boogie formula pre amp with a mesa 290 power amp. I had the formula in the "rhythm" mode which puts the 290 in a "class A" setting. so it can be a really loud, but clean tone if needed. I also had the formulas' EQ on to cut the midrange and give it a little overdriven sound. I did this vid some time ago, so I don't remember other specific settings.

@MajestikClan4 Can't thank the rock gods enough for the 4 musicians of Led Zeppelin. I wonder if 100 years from now, Page will be remembered and played like Bach and Beethoven are now-hmm? We will never have another group of such talented musicians as Robert Plant, with both lyrics and singing. Jimmy Page, an epic guitarist, (think Bach, Strauss on piano) John Paul Jones and Jon Bonham. Nope, you're not going to duplicate that talent ever again. Long live Zeppelin.
