- Amy Grant & Gary Chapman sing Rich Mullins' song "Doubly Good to You" live at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN on "Sam's Place" on the old cable network, TNN.
Despite what eventually happened, this is a timeless & beautiful duet performance.
I think it is painful to watch.....they were already on the skids
I think it's painful too to watch. Gary was such a stinker, didn't really love her as he ought to have...❤❤❤
@@GrannyDi276 Wow. I don’t remember you at all. You speak as if you knew/know us both well. Weird.
Love them singing Rich Mullins song. May God bless them and their families today 2023 and beyond!
Soooo true!! Well said.. Amen.. he has a gorgeous voice for sure.. one of my favorite ~~ songs.. God is good~~~ 🤍🕊️✨🥲🥹
Great duet. They really nailed it. I just wish people would stop interjecting their opinions in about a marriage and people they knew and know nothing about. The judgment needs to stop. Both are supremely talented and have shown it through the years. I have always loved Amy, ever since I was a child, but Gary is very underrated with his talents. I wish nothing but Love and happiness for Amy and Vince and Gary and Cassie. It’s no one’s business but theirs and that’s the way it should remain. Appreciate them for their talent and their contributions. I know I do.
It's really interesting here. Amy actually sings the CORRECT words in the first line of this song --"If you see the morning rising gently on your fields." For a long time Rich Mullins, who wrote "Doubly Good to You" teased her and gave her a hard time because she incorrectly recorded the line as "If you see the MOON rising, gently on your fields." Good for Amy for correcting this!
I noticed that! 🙂
Moon perhaps works better; morning doesn't rise.
I noticed that, too, but I like it better the way she recorded. When I first listened to "...moon rising on your fields..." I could actually SEE the picture in my mind ❤
The moon rises at night and it would still be over your fields
Gary has one of the best voices ever.
He does worship nights every Wednesday night on Facebook live. He's my friend and he's awesome, even now
Beautiful song..... God is love. God is glorious. God hates sin.
Lmao
It’s a beautiful timeless song
Amen!
Marriage can be rough. I prefer not to take sides for I have been there.
Wise words.
GRy Chapman is very good.
They look like they just had a huge argument the performance and had to go onstage anyway…only God truly knows what was going on, but who are we to judge?! I’m glad they both seem much happier now. And remember: You, nor I, are any good if it wasn’t for our Lord’s grace!
She waped a tear away and looked back to him to see if he noticed that she was upset.I have no idea what happened between them and it's none of my business. I'm just sorry for whatever she had to endure. I'm just so glad she is so happy and doing so well now.
Way to read way too much into this.
Just honestly what I took from it/thought it was. No reason to be hateful to me.
She was having an affair with Vince for 5 years before she and Gary divorced. Gary didn't want the divorce.
@@karacrain8810 If you think someone calling you out on judgmental assumptions is being "hateful", then you are very immature. Stop judging people and enjoy the beautiful music they made.
When was this performance?
I was saddened when she divorced him and re married .
She tried really hard, but addiction kIlls marriages. I know this personally. I left my alcoholic husband after 28 long, hard years of abuse.
She was so much in love with Vince ❤️❤️❤️
Vince is her soul mate. I LOVE the two of them together!
“Just sing the song for us”…..that was incredibly rude….just a small taste of how hard it was for her….Much happier with Vince!
He said, “why don’t you sing a song for us.” Interesting how people “hear” completely different things than what was said based on unfounded beliefs.
Chill out, Gary was being funny, he has a great sense of humor not to mention a great songwriter and singer.
@@dianamarie1652Yeah well Amy moved on to a bigger and better "songwriter and singer." Lol
I was looking for this comment! Yes, he was often rude to her in performances. She was always so gracious in return.
@@gregoryseneffsr5263No, the commenter was correct. He was being rude, as he often was.
Wait..wait...if you see...the morning? wtf..morning!? Isn't it...Moon?
Rich Mullins, who wrote this song, discusses the “moon vs. morning” thing in the following video: ruclips.net/video/MncYrn9e35Y/видео.html
Awkward 🥵
Too much negativity 😢
Haven’t liked her since she broke his heart, nor Vince Gill.
Oh boo for you your loss
Amy Grant's marriage to her first husband was extremely unhappy before she met Vince. She has never revealed the truth about the suffering she had to endure at the hands of her first husband, for the sake of her children by him. Hence she became the target of criticism in the Christian world. She said that one day the truth will be revealed, but not by her. He was also extremely jealous of her success.
Not a huge fan of gary
He speaks well of you.
Me neither!
fan of gary🙏
