Hello Michael and Amy I will always cherish this song from when I was a new Christian The song helped me carry on to be the man I am today 42 years later I still have my struggles I keep on thinking about the lady with the issue of blood She said if only I can reach out and touch the hem of Jesus garment I will be made while I reach out every time I need God's strength to carry on
I miss my parents and brother. They died a year apart. 2012, 2013, 2014. As much as there was sorrow, there was joy and rediscovering family. I had been separate from them for years. Then God gave me the chance to forgive and a desire to know them. I reached out to my brother and parents. Over time, we were able to overcome the past and I was so happy to have them in my life. My brother had rarely visited my parents. Hod used me as a mediator to bridge the gap and my brother got to see my parents and know them, express his feelings for them and help them. After my mother died in 2013, he grieved over not coming to know them sooner, visit with them. But God opened the door for he and I to get to talk and visit, so when he died, I had memories of both my parents and him. Pleasant memories and I knew they were with God. Hallelujah! Don't let squabbles and differences come between you, family, and friends.
Thank you so much for sharing your family's story. I am glad that you were able to use the guidance of the Holy Spirit to help mend the misgivings in your family. This is the truest and most gentle meaning of the Lord's love. Bless you and your family 💗
Best Song by far. If you just pay attention to the words, It has a lot of meaning. It was my High School Graduation Song. I was in the Choir and still remember it.
The one song that immediately starts me in non-stop tears.Got to see my first Amy Grant concert with my 2nd husband RIP. Must be nice to have loyal friends. God bless y'all. 🙏🏼 👼 💜 🦋 💟✝️
This song wraps up a beautiful time in the Jesus Music era. From 1969 - 1983. The soundtrack of my years from a 16 year old to my first child. Sweet memories. All those long lost friends because of Jesus I will see again.
Michael W.Smith&Amy Grant are such wonderful singers.I have been a fan of theirs. You both make me feel closer to The Father.Thank you both. Deborah Hearn,Virginia
The message is so simple and yet gently powerful. This is the image I hold of the Lord, gentle and loving yet powerful enough to be able to reach all who are in need 💗
I was at this concert. I know Amy was battling a cold/allergies or something, but she still nailed every song. I'm sure this song stirs up emotions in both of them when they perform it.
I love this song so much, Jesus is our Friend, our very best friend , my son is in Dubai could the world pray for him, he is only 17 years old, thk you
Use to sing this song at youth revivals at my church, always brought tears , stirs emoticons. A song written with such simple lyrics, but yet so powerful! Such a great song after all these years still stirs my soul!
I too have fond memories of my early years attending Christian camps. Some of my closest friendships I made back then are still friends I have today and hold close to my heart 💗
I love this song it reminds me of my uncle he passed away 8 months ago but this song is awesome but i listen to the version with just Michael W Smith he is so awesome for doing this song i hope he knows we all are with him through every thick and thin and also my uncle loved this song a lot of people love this song but also Amy is good too and they are both good singers.
Please stop being so judgemental after all he went through he is the perfect person to deliver this song. I was 17 years old when i lost a very close friend due to cancer i barely spoke english at that time when i first heard this song i wss 20, back than i had good enough english to know the meaning of this song and each time i heard by the way how mws delivers it just better and better. I never meet MWS but i want him to know how i am thankful how heartfelt he is and the way he puts this song. This isbnowhere near to depression, even more peaceful as he doesnt use extra effects on this song just simple piano setting even on keyboards. So way to gooooo i cant be more proud of you than this. I know your story and you are awesome how well you know how to draw close to God even if you are extremely busy.
Thank you for sharing, not only this wonderful recording, but also your special privilege of meeting the two of them. God gave you a special opportunity, and you show your gratitude and joy by sharing with all of us!
Wow...two classics. For sure. This is how old I am. I remember the day I asked my friend Isaac if I could borrow his VHS formatted concert of the Big Picture Tour. But was listening to songs like this long before 1987 even rolled around. Still can't believe this song was written in 1992 though. Seems like I had heard it way back during my childhood. Very strange...
I love the line “ a chapter in your life is through” Only Christians can sing about someone passing away With such a positive inspiring attitude of assurance.
I saw them do this in concert when he was just starting out. She was the lead on the bill that night and he did this song!! All these years later still terrific.
love this song so much memories I use to sing it with my husband the last time we sang that song together we didn't know that it was going to be the last time he was killed few months later.....miss him
They both seem happy and faithful in their marriages, but I too have noticed the overly-affectionate interactions between them. The chemistry is so strong between these two, it's undeniable, regardless of already being married or not. I know they go way back but still, they need to be careful how they act on stage and off stage. People talk. But I do love them a lot and their music is iconic. Them singing together is so awesome too.
Dont know about Amy fighting a cold or anything but yes she nailed every song! We got to have a meet and greet with her and Smitty before the show She was so gracious! And of course Smitty was as always!
This song played at my mom’s funeral last year. My dad and us girls requested that for this song, the lights be turned off or down and we dug out our phones and turned the flashlight on and we were waving them in the air like we were at a show
Had a friend that I helped in many ways when it looked like she wasn't going to need my help anymore I gave her a birthday card with the verse in it she passed away seven months later of cancer
I am learning the song 'Friends' on piano, because my friends at 'All Peoples Church', which used to be in Diamond Bar, CA, all joined forces to pray me OUT of a coma caused by a brain aneurism. My mom initially called both of my brothers and told them to hurry down to California if they wanted to say "goodbye" to me beFORE I die. "He's currently at Torrance Memorial, in Torrance, CA, where the neurologist said her mentor, Dr. Vespa, the neurologist at UCLA Medical Center could perform a NEW procedure that could save his life, but you have to HURRY!" Another neurosurgeon somehow found OUT about this conversation, calls my wife and says, "I've been practicing medicine for 25 years, so I know what works, and what does NOT work, and that procedure by Dr. Vespa will NEVER work!" My poor wife responded, "I'm CERTAIN you know more about this than I do, but we don't seem to have much of a choice!" Well, obviously, it DID work, because the person entering this information right NOW is that man. But for the rest of my life, I'm going to be quoted for what I said when the medical staff saw me open my eyes after 4 weeks in my coma, take a look at the weeping woman at my bedside, my wife of 17 years, and every medical person yelling out, "Wa-HOO!", and ask me if I recognize the woman. I said, "I'm not sure who she is, but I think I like her a lot." (Of course, I had to be TOLD that I said this, because I don't remember ever SAYING this!!!) To hear my story, search RUclips for "Charles Frank Kurtz", then spread word that miracles still happen to this very DAY! MY being alive to even SAY 'Miracles HAPPEN!!!' is miraculous!!! (BTW, I now remember who my wife IS, just FYI!😆😅🤣😂)
