- The unassuming highlight of the film (Still Bill) finds Withers and daughter Kori (an extraordinary vocalist and songstress in her own right) in a hotel lobby singing through a previously unheard song, 'A Telephone Call Away.' Withers' pensive piano work and perfectly unpretentious lyrics resonate in the acoustics of the rooms vaulted ceiling. The song reaches it's climax when Kori Withers joins in for a down right, gut-bucket yet effortlessly beautiful bridge. This song has recently seen release on George Benson's latest Songs and Stories as a duet with the deep and dulcet-toned Lalah Hathaway. While the song's beauty is still undeniable, for me, you can't beat Bill and Kori Withers in a hotel lobby on a quiet afternoon.

This is from the documentary Still Bill. It was on showtime in 2019. I loved it. You can buy the documentary on line. I know Walmart has it. You will not be disappointed. Rest in peace
I saw this on showtime and i loved it. I can't get enough of this documentary i have to go out and buy it. This man is under rated he is beyond good or brilliant. Best of luck alway Bill and your Family.
I saw this on Showtime. It was fab. As i was watching this sceen, I cried like a baby. I starting thinking about me and my dad, who is deceased, all emotions got the best of me. I miss miss him so much.

Apparently Bill Withers wrote this for George Benson, whose version is also on RUclips. However, I have to say that Bill and Kori's impromptu version is so much more profound, with Bill's soulful, but aging, voice in the first half speaking of a love so familiar, you can hear it's age. And the out-of-tune piano just adds to that feel, when out of the blue comes Kori's angelic voice, resonating from Heaven. Absolutely beautiful.
When my mom passed away, I was missing her, and out loud l said l am so lonely and all the sudden a snow globe that was my moms started playing the song.

@DHURTYMACK08 Compare this relationship to the one projected by many children of artists; here you see a father and daugther, unspoilt by fame and enjoying the beautiful gifts that they've been blessed with. Meanwhile other celeb daughters (Richie, Hilton, Kardashian) are using their parents' name to draw maximum attention to themselves rather than using any skills they've inherited to create a positive legacy.

The film is fantastic. She has a beautiful voice. I especially like the part in the film when Bill goes back to his high school reunion and talks about growing up in that little West Virginia town. I think it is Slab Fork.
