Nice 👍 This was my first Half Marathon too, only I did it in 3:09:31 but Im 61 with joint problems. 🤣 I did walk most of it. Yeah after the turn around and that long stretch along PCH with wind blowing that was fun, speaking of fun I was taking photos along the way and when I got to the 12 mile marker it was blowing towards me so I caught it and gave it to the two ladies who were trying to put it back. I going to try for a sub 3 hr next year.
that headwind at the end was so strong, getting a sub 90 min and a PR is already pretty spectacular but doing it in those conditions is at another level!
Did you know the wind? Maybe could have used it with you, saving a bit more energy for the last 5 miles, but nice effort. My end of hip rehab goal, s&c + started with 4x30sec runs month after 70.3 worlds, is 85mins in national half-marathon age group champs... :)
congrats on making your goal. i'm highly impressed how you were able to record while racing and more so impressed how you recorded throwing your cup in the garbage and it made it in. lol!! great job!
@@CjayeMedia no doubt about that, within 2 years you will run sub 1:25 in the half, sub 3;10 in the marathon, and then when a sub 3 either will not happen or just barely did, you will move up to the most wonderful ultra distance there it, the 50 miler and smash that too. just don`t overdue it with running too fast in your training
Impressive. Curious if your running volume for this race was more than the volume for your 70.3. Since I stared doing IMs my running times have tumbled. I train about 12 hours a week and just can’t seem to get the running volume.
I’ve really only been focused on 70.3 since moving over from ultras a few years ago so I don’t really have a reference, but I definitely feel like the increased running volume helps

Looking Lean CJaye what was your race weight for the PB??
I’m around 190lbs right now. Hoping to cut down to 180 over the next few months.
