- Rain or shine, nothing was going to stop me from getting the finish line. The week leading up to the 2024 Surf City Marathon in Huntington Beach, CA was filled with drama over whether a historic storm was going to wash our marathon dreams away. In this vlog, I recap how my last week of training went, how race day was full of disappointment and triumphs and how my mindset going into the next training block. Sometimes you fall short of your goals, which is part of the law of diminishing returns. However, the real athletes will overcome this challenge and persist.

Great job! It was tough out there for the marathoners particularly when the wind picked up. I paced the half and and just signed up at the last minute to run the full at LA. I'm excited to feel the vibes of a big city marathon since I'm a relatively newer runner. Hope to see you out there!

I’ve been using the Salt fastchews but I see the ones you take have way more Na, and K. Gonna have to road test these before my 50K!

Thanks for posting your run. Too bad you almost got hit by a bike, and had to run angery. Run Happy! How are you legs, any spams? Do you have any taping tips? Cheers
Thanks for watching! My legs were sore in in the end, but that was due to me going out too quickly. As for taping, I use KT tape on the sides quads because they tend to get stiff
Great recap and congrats on finishing another marathon! Between the headwinds and having the dodge pedestrians, that last ~5 miles is terribly designed. It was my first time running Surf City and will be my last.
