    After I got my dash off on my 230,000 plus Titan 2005 kingcab, then I watched your video, did the motor on top first and will do the side motor in morning when the part comes in from O'Riely's! I found taking dash off was easy! replacing top motor was easy. By the way I'm 65 year old and always did my own work on my vechicles............!

    I have a 2004 Titan. If you pull the drivers seat, lay on your back with head on the gas pedal you can easily remove both actuators on the driver side, the top one is usually clicking one. I did not have to remove anything except the plastic cover by the throttle pedal. Use a 7/32" socket 1/4 inch drive, 6 inch extension with screwdriver handle on the top screw, reach over the stuff above you from the left side with your right hand (other videos show these screws) 6mm socket on one of the bottom ones and 6mm wrench on the other. The gear on the actuator has a tooth missing to align properly with blend door shaft, rotate the new one a bit to fit. Took the old one apart, a nylon gear had split. Maybe with the fan on high it requires too much torque to move the blend door. These are awesome trucks, ridiculous that computers, switches, motors should be used when cables and levers would work just fine.
    Before I tear it apart like this video I will cut holes for access and glue the pieces back on. Or put put rods through the dash and operate manually. My 57 VW has 2 dash switches, one for lights, one for wipers. Cables for heat, no blower motor, no blend doors, works fine. Open the trunk and there is your wiring. Same with my 51 Studebaker pickup. And now you know why old stuff is so in demand.

      That is awesome.
      My problem at the time is that I had plenty of time to take the dash off. There are other vids that show shorter ways, as stated in other vids I do. Again, happy it was easy and you were able to replace it.

    Thanks for the video Tony..

    Being that you have disconnected the actuators and you are still hearing the clicking, try this. With the vehicle engine off, open the hood and stand on passenger side, have someone else start the vehicle. When the vehicle is started pay attention to the heater control under the hood, located on fire wall by the battery. That clicks also when going bad. Good luck.

    You did a great job on the video unfortunately you did NOT have to take the dash apart, at all..... simply take off the Black Box above the accelerator pedal and you will have enough room to take off the top actuator. Sorry you had to go through that. Your video was really descriptive and great though.

    Thanks for posting this. I have disconnected the actuator blend door motor but I can still hear a light tick . its not coming from the driver side actuators because I have replaced both of those. Its also not my recycle fresh air motor to the extreme right on the dash as it works fine . I have manually put the blend door to cold and I know have ac but I have no clue as to what acutator is left to replace or inspect you said that the one on the bottom but I have full blower control so I know thats not it. any ideas? tony broderick

      Thanks. I did it in a weekend and it didn't take long for me because I know my way around vehicles + I was working on other things. There are maybe easier ways to get to the actuator(s) I was told, just got to look for them. Good luck.

    Here's a good write up from Nissan. It's an old "voluntary service campaign" instead of a recall like it probably should have been. They show how to replace two of the actuator motors. So, like mentioned, if it's only the motor on some you don't have to remove the entire dash. So some of us may luck out with just doing the motors.

    My heat and ac work fine but clicks only when I switch the air to the lower or middle. If I push the defroster button it'll stop clicking immediately. Which actuator would that be? It sounds strong in the middle of the dash behind radio?

    woah lol. apparently nobody told you to just push the pedals all the way back, take out the module right above the pedals, loosen the amplifier bracket and just reach your arm up and you can reach that actuator. nissan says take the dash out so they can charge you a day or two labor. ofcourse do all this after disconnecting the negative battery terminal;) 45min and no broken dash

    Any Idea what actuator out of the 5 I need to replace--No heat on driver side only.

    • @tonybroderick6590
      @tonybroderick6590  6 лет назад +1

      After getting the vehicle up to teperature, check the heater control valve (located under hood on passenger side), reason is you want to first make sure both sides of valve is same temp to know if it is opening all the way, or at all. If that is good, the actuator for the blend door is the bad one. Located under dash where passenger foot would be. There are plenty vids on RUclips. Good luck.

    • @tonybroderick6590
      @tonybroderick6590  5 лет назад

      You have to first check the heater control valve under hood (located on passenger side) to see if both or 1 side of the hose is hot, which will let you know if valve is open or not, then you can attack under the dash to see if the blend door actuator is working.
      Good luck.

    • @tonybroderick6590
      @tonybroderick6590  6 лет назад +1

      Leonardo Martines
      Sounds like you may have 2 different problems.1 is a bad electronic heater control valve located at front passenger side under hood, not opening to produce warm or heat in cab. 2 is POSSIBLE blend door not opening and closing properly, located on passenger interior under dash.
      Good luck.

    You don’t have to do any of this, it’s right there by the gas pedal. A little difficult but doable, one hour job at the most. I’ve seen a few videos where people are ripping the whole dash out for no reason.

    • @tonybroderick6590
      @tonybroderick6590  5 лет назад +3

      You are correct, but I did get a better understanding of what is there and for futerure issues. Not everyone is privy on how to fix, so this video gives a good example of where things are and how to get to them.
      I love this truck and dont mind spending the time on it.
      Thanks.

    Taking the dash cover off seems like a huge job...I found this video ruclips.net/video/E0sjVqdownM/видео.html that shows how to do it from under the dash. Here's another video ruclips.net/video/HXj1dCDPLy0/видео.html It's a tight area to work in but it's doable and faster than taking off the dash.
