I have a question for you , Tennis TV . Why on earth Clay Court Tournaments unlike Hard and Grass Court tourneys don't have the provision to challenge an Umpire / Line Judge's decision ??
I have seen him do that(not exactly a drunken act) against Murray in AO 2015 and wawrinka ao 2013 for a very brief moment.. Not sure if he does it intentionally to put his opponent off
I remember watching the Djokovic match live and he mentioned that his shoes were sticky and not allowing him to slide. If you look at this now you can see him getting caught on his toes rather than sliding like usual. Still cracks me up all these years later though 😂
At 6:53 you can see when he kicks the official everyone behind him gets scared but the lady in ht black glasses and like a black shirt and gray hair doesn't even flinch is still in this dimension.
Just a note on the Hit the Post one at 5:30, the umpire actually made the correct call because it hit the post, which is outside of the singles stick and therefore a permanent structure. Any ball that strikes a permanent structure is considered out of play, so therefore, it was Cuevas's point because it wasn't a valid return.
@@matija5555 The video literally says the umpire "wrongly" awarded Cuevas the point. However, it was the correct call because the post is a permanent structure. A situation happened recently where Tiafoe touched the net but still won the point because he touched the part beyond the singles stick.
If Hawkeye wasn’t working for on court challenge, then the challenge if forfeit until they fix it. Rafa cannot lose the point there according to rules. Otherwise they can say whatever they want.
5:37: That is correctly Cuevas's point; the part of the net "after" the singles sticks is a permanent fixture; therefore if the ball hits it, it's out.

Exactly. It's a bit unprofessional of Garin to complain about it. Tennis is his job after all, he should know the rules of the game. (Also, whoever subtitled it should probably do some researching before claiming the umpire is wrong)

The umpire was right. Any part of the net outside the singles sticks is considered a permanent fixture. It's the same as if the ball hit the umpire chair and landed in.
If there are no singles sticks, the post is in. If there are singles sticks, any part of the net, including the posts, they are outside of the singles sticks are considered out. The umpire was entirely correct.
5:30 Umpire makes the correct decision. It is Cuevas's point. In a singles game played with a doubles net, singles' sticks are used, supporting the net where the posts should have been.
