great fucking video! you are the only one who showed how to lubricate the pump gears located internally. I kept hearing people mention it in other videos or read it on forums but they never showed it. I will be passing the info down to my mechanic with this vid.

Great informative vid as usual mate, I have a question, I've have the oil squirters and the balancer shaft deletes done on a new built 4G63 and have high oil pressure readings on my gauge, 90 psi on cold startup and hot 115 psi at 4k, running 15w50 to protect the motor. No I've done a lot of reading and people say that I could blow oil seals, lock lifters and do bearings, however I can't actually find and evidence of this. So with your vast experiance should I be worried and should I do the porting of the oil filter housing and spring mod?

It's fine to be a little high, when the motor wears in more the pressure will drop a little, just make sure it's good and warm before you drive it.

@@snailfedperformance7177 ok thanks brother, yeh warm it up thoroughly, I'm a bit jittery cause I've never owned a built motor so nervous at first in case i hurt it.

What is the size of the bolt that goes into the stubby shaft??

It's the same OEM bolt that you would use on the unmodified balance shaft.

Hey buddy, I tried to locate those straight cut gears by the part numbers listed on them on eBay and on Amazon but no luck. Can you assist?

Unfortunately no. We have had two sets from Mitsubishi themselves that have been on back order for almost 2 years. The likelihood of finding them nowadays are slim to none currently.

What’s your opinion on the ER pump gear?

    • @snailfedperformance7177

Never ran one personally. Have never seen a reason to justify it personally. We have ran oil pumps revving the motor to 10k rpm on the stock oil pump gear and have had zero failures.

Is the oil pump loud with the straight cut gears

I did the same thing. A little bit. But you would only hear it if the exhaust is standard (quiet). With any aftermarket exhaust you wont be able to hear the oil pump over the engine noise.
