Just I have one question
Why Linton shunting for NCPF or EHPVO will not cause encephalopathy as whole of the portal blood will be diverted via the shunt to systemic circulation without being detoxified due to obstruction distally in the portal vein or it’s branches ???
Because liver is still normal.. it will detoxify

Liver is normal but the blood is not flowing into it sir via the portal vein due to obstruction ??? Which is getting byepassed via the shunt sir

The normal live will detoxify the blood coming via Hepatic artery
