Just found the channel. Boy does it bring back memories. Started my driving career on a 1959 4104 drove an early 1950 GMC transit BUS graduated to a 4903, 4905A with an air throttle then a MC-9 finally a Prevost H-3. Always helped in the shop when not driving. Thanks

It is because of you that everyone keeps tuning in, you are a kind and wise guy and you know those old detroits better than most mechanics and we enjoy learning from you.
Scott, besides producing a whole new way of life in 2 1/2 years you are doing us all a tremendous service by making these extremely heavy vehicles safe to drive!! Would love to see someone add hub motors to the lazy axle on one of these busses and make the house battery dual use, would expect some significant fuel savings and benefits of regen braking to be fairly awesome.
The additional drag and weight of motors would offset any potential savings. Plus the house batteries are far too small to store a meaningful amount of energy while continuing to serve their original purpose.
They do have giant sized hybrid systems for city busses and garbage trucks, etc. They work great for stop-and-go. But they're completely useless for a long distance at a consistent speed, which is exactly what these busses do.
