  • The Pentel Large Water Brush is still my FAVORITE! However, the palette that I featured in the original post had been replaced with the ones I made myself. This video tells you the advantages and disadvantages of the each.
If you want to start with the original palette, it's the Koi Pocket Field Sketch Box with 24 colors. You can purchase it on Amazon for less than $25 (as of 4/2024). It was what I started with before I used professional grade which are packed with pigment.
MY WORKSHOP IS JULY 21-27 so follow the link and scroll down until you see Session II, and you will see the class description.
Space is limited😳. If you do register, I will be in touch through emails for a chance to answer any specific questions. HOPE to see you there!

I’m using the KOI watercolor set, and really like it for my mixed media art kit. But it doesn’t have my favorite metallics. How did you add an extra row into yours?

I used a stretched kneaded eraser that is sticky to press them in. Sticky tack will work too. Even a small roll of duck tape with the sticky on the outside will work, but this one makes the half-pans stick up a bit. I didn't want to glue them in permanently.
