Everyone loved Jimmy Durante apparently...he was widely admired and held in warm affection...stars loved him, the common people loved him...he was always the same whether he was talking to a celebrity big name of a road sweeper..

Jimmy Durante was so very AMAZING. The song didn't EXIST when he sat down at the piano, in front of a rolling camera for this scene in "The Man Who Came To Dinner" 1942, But this "Old Vaudevillian" was like that - so much of his BEST was "Just" spontaneous response to the Moment. What a Razz-A-Matazz. A pure Doll.

What I was saying was that it was from the 1988 film that my son and I became aware of that song (and scene) through that film. But if you want pedantic about it, then that's your choice.

Some old film strips can have up to 18,000 pixel dimension due to filming technique. This means that in a few decades when we all have gigantic TVs as standard all the "bluray hd movies" will look crap and pixelated while all the old movies like this can be converted from original film and still retain their full dimensions. We took a huge step backwards with HD in regards to film-making.
