Great composition. Just beautiful work.
Sure On this Shinning Night
Thank you for this wonderful piece of music . It thouches me right in the middle of my heart. It is one of those few pieces of music where I hear the first line and think : I want that on my funeral ! I have no plans in that direction, but it is simply my way of saying that it is one of the most beautyfull things I have heard the last years !
+liekie dijx Thank you very much.
Hi Mr. Kehoe, Our choir is from a small town which is one on the most visited place here in the Philippines called Loboc, well famous for its river. Your song reminded us how beautiful our place is. With your permission we'll study the piece and hope we can share your beautiful song to other people. Thank you
As I've read in the previous comments: a beautiful piece of music. Our church choir consists at the moment of two countertenors only but still I want to give it a go. Nice during communion.
Hi Rudy, Damien's 'Flow Water' is now available from Cailíno Music Publishers. Regards, Niall www.cailino.com/product/flow-water/

Rise and shine sailors. It be the lord’s day
Touch of the Eric Whitacres there with your maj+add 4 chords.
Using this for meditation
how old are the sopranos and altos
@@NilsSF This is a collegiate choir... they should not sound like 12 year olds
Later Date I was thinking the same thing too! The girls sound so young but the guys sound good
20 ish
they sound like angels
Ah Brilliant! I was checking out your page and I'm impressed, especially Mario 64, Great Stuff! Well done my friend enjoy and take care! Thanks again!
they went down almost a whole half step
Base an tenor had their own thing I mean everybody singing in a g chord sense but they're doing a major 7 never thought bout that
最後が半音下がってしまったが、きれいなハーモニーで良い曲だなあ。
ですね
Cool piece
Thanks Kevin
Beautiful piece, but I feel like the lines are a little stagnant and monotone in parts. It is all because the counterpoint rules are keeping it from being more fluid, but I think if you adjust the soprano and alto lines in some places, the counterpoint rules will allow for more fluctuation in the lines. I love the way it is written now, but I do think it can be done differently as well.
It's not what you do in music, it's how. The homophonic texture is fine. It has worked over 200 years. The singers and conductor have the responsibility to MAKE it interesting. Their fault, not the writing.
Good day, Damien. My Chancel Choir here at Trinity United Church, Peterborough, Ontario ,Canada will be singing your "Flow Water" on Sunday, October 18th, 2015. If the audio isn't too bad, I'l send you a copy. It is indeed a beautiful piece of music.
+Robert Grandy Thank you Robert. I'd love to hear it!
Best of luck.
Damien.
Of course you can! Thank you so much for the compliment! where is your choir based? The link is in the description! Hope to hear back!
Best part in 1:13
Definetly just sight sang the whole tenor part with no problem :)
That's not what singing a piece is about. It's not about being perfect, it's about enjoying the piece so I hope you enjoyed the piece instead of trying to be "cool"
Sorry if I come across as rude or mean, I don't mean to. I'm not good at putting my thoughts into words and a lot of the time I don't put emotion into the words I choose so it sounds mean
@@arkadit671 my goal was to better enhance my sight singing abilities that doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the piece and i feel you that happens to me too
I would love my voice to be sweet like that
Realy beautiful music. I would like to use it at an international festival with my community choir. So i would like to get performance rights and more information about the composer. Who/where can I get this?
Hello Thank you for your compliment! You can get the sheetmusic here. componistenwerk.nl/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=210&search=flow

+Damien Kehoe Thank you so much!
Wow I thought this was gonna be cheesy
It’s definitely an onion bc I’m crying lol
Does this version go slightly out of tune towards the end, just want to know wether other people notice it to or if I’m just insane
Can you please tell me where I can purchase this sheet music as the link is not found?
Hi Cathy, Damien's 'Flow Water' is now available from Cailíno Music Publishers. Regards, Niall www.cailino.com/product/flow-water/
Hi Damien! I absolutely love this arrangement! I was wondering if I would be able to purchase the sheet music and rewrite the words in a religious context. Nontheless, this is a beautiful piece!
Hi, 'Flow Water' is now available from Cailíno Music Publishers: www.cailino.com/product/flow-water/
my father
I would be delighted t share my music with you no problem! if you do a recording of it will you send it to me please! thank you! enjoy! the link is in the description!
Why do you keep using the word 'lay' in the lyrics when you mean 'lie'?
You call it a choir I call it peer pressure
Hi Damien! I was looking at the website and I found that it was all in Danish. Where can I look where I won't have this problem?
Hi Alaina. You can change the language setting on the website!
Would it be okay if I used this in my film exam project?
Its all non commercial, and wont be shown to anyone but my teacher :)
They sound relatively young, yet know how to balance dissonances... We need to clone them.
Nice Piece. Sorry, but:
Parallel 8s and 5s (heart f. for example).
Minute 1f.: 21×b in Tenor Voice in a row. Really???
lol so sorry someone’s music doesn’t meet your expectation or “follow the rules” of music. Breaking news buddy, good music doesn’t follow the rules.
I love how strange this music is. It makes it so much more real and beautiful to me. This is my fav choir song bc of how it breaks the rules so well.
Only in counterpoint. Those parallels are found throughout the world of music (c.f. Beethoven all over!!). Modern music is built on those parallels (Morten Lauridsen, Eric Whitacre, all of pop...). No, wait. What about organum? That's over 1000 years old!
Nothing worse than those who think they "know." Go study.
Wrong notes in altos on river, and corresponding melodic places where sops sing Do Re Mi. It SB a G dissonance/pedal, but they sing an F#, paralleling Basses. Both notes, work, but as written, you get the beautiful clash. Also, bad English at the end. It should be "I alone must LIE." (Lay is what you do to an object, Lie is the action that you the speaker DO.) Check w/ any English teacher.
💤 😑
Listen better.
Weak basses lowkey
Good piece musically but the text is shallow and not really meaningful. In my view choral music should exclusively be singing about some greater good, some God or things we cannot grasp.
I have to say, that strikes me as an incredibly reductive lens through which to view choral music.
Yikes. I guess that rules out settings of Shakespeare, or Yeats, or ....
